Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) for the year 2009 reported 14.03 million checks, indicating a 10 percent increase in gun purchases from the 12.71 million a year earlier. That is roughly 14 million guns bought last year -- more than the combined active armies of the top 21 countries in the world.

He should know since he was a student of the U.S. Naval War College and of Harvard University.

That Obama is one hell of a salesman. Half the people voted for him and the other half bought guns.

"I haven't bought any more or less guns since Obama was elected. I usually buy about two a year"

TIMBICI/BIGPUN with guns... glad I don't live in NJ.

Who saud lefties were gullible?

TIMBICI/BIGPUN with guns.

Is that really who that douche stenwilly is?

Lock and load. No one will ever take over our country -- not with an armed populace.

I voted for Obama, and I bought a rifle in 2009, an AR-15.

One had nothing to do with the other.

I just bought a Mossberg 500 from a friend two weeks ago, so this year's off to a good start too.

I voted for Obama, and I bought a rifle in 2009, an AR-15.

I bought a couple prior to the election then sold them for twice as much as I paid for them. The ammo I sold spent about an hour on the auction site before someone paid the buyout price that was 130 dollars more than I originally paid for it.

The Gun and Pawn shop where I purchased my Glock 45 and Glock 9mm has a giant picture of Obama behind the counter, when I asked why the owner said " I never voted for the S.O.B but he sure is good for business...

Lose our guns and the Government also loses its fear of us!

Did my part...and doing what I can this year!

Thinking semi-auto shottie. Have a pump Mossy 590, but I'm looking at that Mossie 9200A1 jungle gun my son has. Why pump when you can just pull the trigger again?

Maybe this year I'll start reloading. Ammo prices have come down but are still higher than pre-Obama prices.

Hmm...I might be able to finance it by going to a junk yard next weekend and getting as many car antennas as I can and putting them up on ebay to sell to Retorters....

You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Except when the Super Bowl or American Idol finale is on. Or during March madness. Or Black Friday sales.

Guns guns guns, everyone is worried about having enough guns. Having enough AMMO is the problem and if you don't have a water cooled machine gun then you need some inter-chamgeable barrels.

Fighting Warrior Thom

I guess I'm falling way behind, only one new one. Buttttttttt....... I did buy 5 boxes of shotgun shells.

One reason that using an EMP to take out American electronics would be a bad move .... nothing to do but sit around and shoot invaders....

I did buy 5 boxes of shotgun shells.

You're aware Ernest Hemingway only needed one (or was it two?) shells, right? But, then, he was pithy.

Damn dok. 2 shotgun shells to comit suicide? You are a bad shot.

Why pump when you can just pull the trigger again?

because racking the slide back is enough to make some people stop and think about what comes next.

Actually,

They will never hear the slide rack....the first sound they hear is "BOOM" and then they are temporarily deafened, so they wouldn't hear the racking of the next round.

Well, that's assuming I missed ... and that's unlikely with 00 buck.

Remember rule number 2 of self defense:

If you are fighting in a fair fight, your tactics are all wrong.

All you have to do is watch ANY movie trailer or TV commercial, all guns all the time. No one can sit down for a cup of tea and talk about issues.

Americans gotta solve problems with guns.

What a bunch of backward thinking losers.

If you want more proof of dumb america just think about texting for 1 second.

Next thing you know all americans will be connected to one another by soup cans and string.

Maybe they'll believe in some mythical "god" who "created" them.

DUMMIES

Right I am SURE 'the government' is very scared of you and all your weapons...

NOT

Uncle Sam can produce weapons with MUCH MORE FIREPOWER than anything you can hold.

Only 14 million?
Now I feel guilty that I only got 3 in '09!!
I apologize to the masses for slacking!!

Uncle Sam can produce weapons with MUCH MORE FIREPOWER than anything you can hold.

Uncle Sam cannot produce anything.

Arms Manufacturing is done by private companies.

Uncle Sam has also had a tough time defeating technologically and militarily inferior "enemies".

Right I am SURE 'the government' is very scared of you and all your weapons...

I gue4ss that is why they want to license them. That would kill 2 turd birds with one rock. New tax and also they would know where they all are.

Does this statistic include military weapons?

All you have to do is watch ANY movie trailer or TV commercial, all guns all the time. No one can sit down for a cup of tea and talk about issues.

I prefer coffee...
Starbucks coffee, that way I can carry my guns in the store ;-)

The lesson to be learned from every war fought in the past 200 years is, that a small lightly armed guerrilla force, can effect a lot of damage to a heavily armored force.

And if you have many small guerrilla units, working in concert...

With the economy the way it is there is a lot of guns being bought and sold. Luckily i am on the buying end and getting some real steals.
Including: 2 .40 cal pistols, an SKS, an FAL, pistol grip mossberg, double barrel shotgun, an AR-15 with comp. barrel and an ACOG and lots of ammo. Thats just 2009. No one can say that
im unprepared for the zombies.

"Americans gotta solve problems with guns.

What a bunch of backward thinking losers."

Except you're the one saying shit that isn't true. Less than 2% of the population has ever pointed a gun at anyone else in an attempt to solve a problem and saying 2% is being generous to your stupid point.

Your need to portray those around you as stupid losers betrays a general contempt for humanity, most likely due to feelings of inadequacy.

I wonder if the number include those guns that are bought and sold privately (eg; without doing a back ground check)? Guns are bought, sold, traded privately all the time with no paper trail.

14 million guns purchased, and yet Obama did nothing to take away any of them.
Stay in your fallout shelters, DR righties...just in case!

Looks like we have a white trash, micro penis thread going on here.

How many of you gun owning pussies actually got any tail last year outside of your six fingered cousins (wives)?

Not a problem. All perfectly legal.

Wow, just try to use the old Alinksy insult routine. Too bad you don't have anything VALID to say. I'd say you are compensating.

#25 | Posted by yougothurt at 2010-03-05 11:38 AM

That's "petty" funny: I have a multitude of weapons and carry concealed weapons and I am one of the most respectful and polite people you would ever want to meet; I open doors for old people, smile at anyone who looks my way and watch out for other people's children...

I would also wade into most any situation where a person was being victimized, armed or not. And, I have done so on more than one occasion. Owning weapons (for most people) isn't about being "macho", it's about being prepared...

#39 | Posted by furio at 2010-03-05 06:38 PM

Wow, that was a really stupid post...

And, all Liberals must be homosexual Socialists too, (being a Democrat I find this hard to believe, but using your logic it must be true)...

Isn't stereotyping fun???

I have a closet full of firearms myself... I bought a bunch of them and I also ended up with most of the 'family' collection.

I don't need any for "protection" unless I'm out in the bush, but it always makes for an nice day out at the range either blasting away with .45 ACP or .223, or working on tuning that .22-250 load.

Or of course blasting clays, which is my plan for this weekend if the snow ain't too deep.

When I was CTO I used to take copies of all the purchase orders I had to sign to the range and "sign them" one hole at a time. I got really good at hitting the signature line at 10 yards.

Now I just take a deck of cards to the range and "sign them" one pip a time.

If the owners were smart enough to see through the bullshit that permeates their lives, they obviously possess the means to stop it immediately. But they are simply too ignorant and vent their anger persistently in the wrong direction.

Listening to Glen Beck bash "Socialism" they fail to see the irony in his diatribe built supposedly on a trip to his local library. For those still to dumb to understand, the library is a classic "Evil Socialist Institution", just like our schools and roads.

Glad I could help out last year.

I bought that 30-30 Marlin lever action I've always wanted, a .357 Henry lever action, Ruger Mini 14 and a Springfield Arms 1911.

It was a good 2009.

Hello, McFly...aka Nutcase....

Socialist institutions are, oh..."socialized medicine" and 'social security' and such.

Not roads...schools, sure.

Get a grip. Get an education. Hell, even check out Wikipedia....

dap. Get a grip and don't be a dip. There are government jobs called out in the constitution. They ar NOT socalistic. The government take-over of schools has been a disaster just like every other government program there is. There NEVER has been a sucessful government program.

I have a multitude of weapons and carry concealed weapons and I am one of the most respectful and polite people you would ever want to meet

'Self-praise' or why students aren't allowed to mark their own exams.

LOL!
Certainly not at the school you attended.

As for your ridiculous assertion; Let's try the Manhattan and Apollo projects, for starters.

How is it that wingnuts hate people that work for the government and love soldiers? I wonder who they think they work for?

" There NEVER has been a sucessful government program."

Yep...that internet thingy was a real failure.

Wingnut definition of a bank: A mattress and an assault rifle.

That "internet thingy" was the result of collaboration between academic institutions and the defense department. And then more and more academic units. And international development.

The government funded it, but it would have gone nowhere without the advent of the World Wide Web, courtesy of Tim Berners-Lee in Switzerland.

And then the commercialization of said web by private industries.

So no, the government wasn't the reason for its success. Private businesses were. Especially the Porn Industry.

The assault continues...and the Democrats are at the core.

Did you even attempt to refer to the post I was responding to? If you're going to try to bust my balls at least get your facts straight, that way we can go back and forth a bit. But, just dropping a smug little rhetorical comment that lacks any kind of real substance is about as interesting as old turd in a rusty bucket...
