Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Sunday, February 28, 2010

The House ethics committee ruled Friday that seven lawmakers who steered hundreds of millions of dollars in largely no-bid contracts to clients of a lobbying firm had not violated any rules or laws by also collecting large campaign donations from those contractors. The seven: Reps. Norm Dicks (D-Wash.), Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.), Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.), Peter J. Visclosky (D-Ind.) and C.W. Bill Young (R-Fla.).

Doesn't quite pass the smell test, does it?

Time for a rules change?

No way...too much money.

So much for ethics--the foxes are in charge of the hen house.

So do away with earmarks and there won't be the hint of deceit and corruption.

Oh yes--Obama and his Ethics bill for congress really cleaned crap up...

No New Jersey pols on the list? Something is fishy.

I'm shocked that they were found innocent. I would have thought the dem congress would have run them all out on a rail.

SNIPER...protect the status quo

The political contributions are also a great retirement plan...ask EB will leave with 13million

Voters Clear Out House Ethics Panel.

Now there's a headline that would be welcome news!

Vote out all incumbents. And keep doing it until term limits are put into place.

To be reelected is to be corrupt by definition.

I thought maybe too many years of computer and calculator use had ruined my ability to count, since I could only see six names in that list. Then I checked TFA and saw they had also cleared Murtha, but hadn't put him in the main list. So at least that part of my head's still working.
Oh, and I'm sadly not at all surprised by the outcome. "Elected officials being bribed? I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!!" I sometimes think these clowns could be caught with their pockets full of marked bills, been taped receiving the bribe, and bragged about it on Facebook, and STILL be cleared!

Interesting data.. I agree too - wealth trump justice in this corrupt land of ours.

A non-partisan investigation should be opened to analyze the House Ethics Panel.

The "ruling class" our Founding Fathers took great pains to avoid.

Sickening

So the other day, Satan was walking around, taking in all the suffering in Hell. He noticed a rotund old guy sweating and shoveling coal, and decided he wasn't suffering enough.

He leaned close, whispered in the guy's ear:

"Hey, Teddy, guess what? I hear a Republican got your senate seat!"

So much for the "cleanest House" from Pelosi. She needs Rangel on the comittee to push healthcare...and so he will stay.

Moran is another Criminal.

and isnt it ironic that this asshole makes any allegations against him makes tom delay look like a boy scout.
