Your ace reporter, Tosser, visited the annual Karachi classic car show organized by the "Vintage and Classic Car Club".

Here are three videos of that eventful event.

Some neat American cars there too.

I did not make this video:

www.youtube.com

But I did make this one:

www.youtube.com

And also this one:

www.vimeo.com

Please excuse the quality of the last video.

1. It got a bit fucked up when I compressed it.

2. It was already a bit fucked up because I didn't engage the image stabilizer.

Still, you can see what was there.

My two favorite cars were there... Aston-Martin DB-6 (007 - Goldfinger... remember the ejection seat?) and the Jaguar E-type.

More than one Mustang there....

Also liked the big red Ford truck.

Jaguar XKSS

I love 'em.

As far as Pakistan is concerned, the cars of the Flinstones are ligh years ahead of what they currently have.

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa

seriously? The Paki Car Show?

No camels or goats?

desperate for attention

Man... already a post by a stoopid fuck....

These are classic cars, my man. American and British. Not Pakistani or Japanese or Korean or Chinese.

Watch the videos stupido and get a clue. LOL

American and British.

And German and French... LOL

You folks do understand the meaning of "vintage" and "classic" yes?

Old expensive cars that are NOT used for bringing home the groceries.

Please DO watch the videos before making yourselves look stupid.

Consider it a tribute in part to classic American machines... (many American cars there).

desperate for attention

Vermin... just because you are too stupid to make and upload a video, doesn't mean that I should stop myself.

Instead of writing about something, making a video can be far more informative.

I was there, it was in the local blogs, so I covered it for them.

"Instead of writing about something, making a video can be far more informative."

Indeed.

And a little narrative about the makes and models instead of the crappy muzak would've helped immensely.

I like the red F1 the best, Tosser. The ragtop beside the Mustang, what was that? Side profile said 54 Chev, but the rearend didn't really match up. I've got one of these ...one of these(the green and white one) ...and one of these, as well.

I've got a couple of 65 Impalas, a '79 F150 with 27k miles on it, and a bunch of other old stuff. I love old vehichles

Sounds reasonable.

Too much work.... I wuz lazy.

The ragtop beside the Mustang, what was that?

Big white car with yellow dash?

I honestly don't remember.... There were quite a few Austins there.... probably one of them.

I think I saw Tosser at about a minute 10 into the first video.....very colorfully dressed.

Some other guy's video of Vintage car show, but from 2008.

www.youtube.com

Ah yes... the clown....

Very funny.

I was in a red t-shirt (like half the people there) and blue-jeans knickers.

Some of these car owners like to rent out their classics for movie scenes where they want to make Karachi look as it was 30, 40, 50 years ago.

There were at least 3 cars there, that I have seen used in the movies.

A ton of classic cars were used in the movie "Jinnah". (required viewing for American diplomats about to be posted to Pakistan... and yes, it's in English and on Youtube)

Tosser

Here's a song which is an American rock and roll classic about hot cars. You should use this one as the sound track in your own video (the second one in post #1).

"Little GTO" - Ronnie and the Daytonas

(Give the tape a few seconds to get rolling and it'll start showing different cars.)

They don't make muscle cars anymore. Just wussy cars like the Prius, etc. and all the cars look alike.

No more hot Firebirds, Cameros, Corvettes...*sigh*

(Give the tape a few seconds to get rolling and it'll start showing different cars.)

Damn... that was really cool.

There is a blue Camaro in my last video... supposed to be one hell of a great car.

Tosser--

on the vid you put together

But I did make this one:

www.youtube.com

Is that an OSAMA BATTERY under the hood???

www.youtube.com

I didn't make this one, but my car is in it. It's the baby blue 50 Plymouth (you can see it at 2:21). It was done right after I got it running about 2 years ago. We left Houston, took the long way to Galveston, and then came back up. It was about 100 or 150 mile round trip and was alot of fun.

I really with they would make cars that you could work on and that didn't look like plastic turds again. Apparently, going green means we have to drive boring cars that you can't turn a wrench on anymore.

John

This one?

img714.imageshack.us

That's her... though she's purple now. I've actually been using her as a daily driver for the last month and a half (someone broke into my jeep, tried to hotwire it, and smoked just about everything behind the dash). Aside from an aftermarket alternator that failed, it's been running great.

John

Actually that was pretty cool, thanks tosser! Funny how many of those US cars would never make it it shows here, but interesting none the less.

How many had car bombs in them?

Those very old antique cars were interesting to see. I hope the owners did not drive them back and forth to the show. That was fun to see those videos, thanks, Tosser. How much does a car tag cost in Karachi?

I hope the owners did not drive them back and forth to the show.

Yes, they did.

I did see a few coming on their own.

I did not see the Rolls Silver Ghost being driven though... LOL

Far far too valuable and only a few left in the world.

How much does a car tag cost in Karachi?

Sorry? Car tag?

Liscense plate, Tosser

Liscense plate, Tosser

Depends on engine size....

Total cost of registration, insurance, taxes, is from around Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000, I think.

You can then drive it on the streets.

Now since it all depends on engine size... I wonder what is going to happen 2 years from now when the first all-electric cars hit the market? How will they calculate "C.C"?

Many lawsuits on the horizon, I can see.

Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000

From $50 to $100 approx.

How many had car bombs in them?

Son, some of these are so expensive, you'll have to wax and polish them for 3 generations before anyone lets you take a ride in them.

I did ride in a Rolls Silver Cloud though... (gold colored car).... the power of the vehicle is more than I'm normally used to.

When it accelerates, you are pushed back into the seat quite forcefully.

Nobody expects a big car like that to behave like a sports car, but it does.

I had a 68 Chevelle SS 396 with a 4 speed transmission that you , as a passenger, couldn't reach up and grab the dash while I was accelerating. G-force held you back. I had over 6K in the engine alone. Ran low 10's in the quarter-mile. Not bad for a street ride.

When my Chinese car accelerates, I hear a whine and then I wait until the speed picks up. LOL

However, it is supposed to be good for the environment because it doesn't run on petrol.

I say, screw environment...

www.youtube.com

LOL

I would love an ejection seat in my car....

69 Chevelle, like my 68.

I never broke the 10 second barrier, but this guy's got more technology now than I had in the early 80's

Plus, I was standard shift..

It's so strange seeing all of those brown people walking around the outside of the cars and not waiting in the drivers seat. Where are their owners?:]

But seriously - I'll bet that those wealthy people in the ME have some of the most pristine vintage vehicles.. including tanks, planes, anti-aircraft weapons, grenade launchers, etc.:]

That's why you are a part of a ridiculous, slowly developing nation, sweetie. When you figure out how to not poison your produce, perhaps you can help us out with that problem?:]

That's why you are a part of a ridiculous, slowly developing nation, sweetie.

Well, at least we are "developing". You are stagnating. LOL

In fact, you are degrading.

When you figure out how to not poison your produce

We have figured it out. I told you my car doesn't run on petrol.

Or can't you read?

perhaps you can help us out with that problem?

Use more CNG, idiot. Simple.

And change to electric, when they come out.

and not waiting in the drivers seat.

Drivers seats were empty so I could sit in them.

The owners/drivers were standing-around/walking-
around.

in the ME

This was Karachi... not the Middle East. LOL

You still can't understand we are not Arabs, can you?

have some of the most pristine vintage vehicles.. including tanks, planes, anti-aircraft weapons, grenade launchers

Just like the US which still uses 80's computers for national security???

Well, it's over. USA: 37 medals...Pakistan: 0

Unfortunately, no events such as...

-Dunghill skiing

-Cross country goat humping

-Cowpie ice hockey

-etc.

Maybe next time.

I did hear the IOC was considering an "adolescent female genitalia mutilation" event in '14.

Look out world.

Pakistan Rising.

Winter Olympics - Pakistan 0

It wasn't for lack of trying . . . or the willingness to face the most impossible odds imaginable.

Read this about a Pak Olympian . . .

olympics.thestar.com

Let's give a little bit of credit where credit is due.

OK?

Abbas lived for the slopes. While other village kids were satisfied sliding through the snow on crude planks, Abbas used a plane to make skis that he strapped to ordinary boots with rope and rubber bands.

What in inspirational story, TWINPAC. Thanks for posting it. The author described the village he came from as 'self sufficient in children only'.

War torn, taken over by the Paki Taliban.

Abbas IS an Olympic hero!

I'm gonna email that story to friends and family.

Abbas' story is really something, TWINPAC.

OK, T.P.

Just have to irritate that arrogant little Pak avatar, (Tokyo Rose) Tosser.

TOSSER's cool if you're cool to him.

You expect him to just laugh when you say ridiculous things, attack his faith, or call a Persian an Arab? It isn't him that ends up looking stupid.

GREAT AMERICAN

Tosser isn't personally responsible for everything in Pakistan. True, he can twist the knife with the best of us. But I don't fault somebody for defending the honor of their country, whether I agree with them or not.

Thanks for manning up with your "OK T.P." but would it hurt you to acknowledge the lone Pakistani Olympian with a hearty "Atta' boy!"
