The all-white Zeta Tau Alpha sorority from the University of Arkansas won the Sprite Step Off national stepping competition in Atlanta Saturday and were awarded $100,000 in scholarships. After the decision sparked controversy, the second place winners Alpha Kappa Alpha also were awarded $100,000 because judges found a "scoring discrepancy."

Does anyone here believe that if the white sorority came in number two that this same decision would be rendered?

no. this was a bad call.

P.C. gone amuck once more...

If this is such a problem we can always trade back... Ya'll can stomp da yard all you want, and we can have the White House back.

BTW these bitches are hot as hell

You all see a Step Team... I see a bunch of really nervous fathers.

With this 'talent' and fiddy cents, these ladies can
get a cup of coffee at Zmart.

What a wonderful way for coke to wipe their PC
asses with 200 Large.

I thought if we elected the first half black President we would all move beyond race.

Is the "white" group a white supremacist group? If not, this is blatant racism against them.

Squeaky wheels get the grease.

Was the discrepency published?

Jayzus Chee-rist, what next? White boys playin' the blues?

So, the price of white guilt is $100k to Coke? I think they got off cheap.

WHY? They should have paid nothing. But being a lib I am sure you want people to get something for nothing.

Righty? I meant Whitey...

My bad, Rob, you're almost half right. But between Tricky Dick and Dubya, the white race ain't got a lot to brag about in that job.

It's troubling that Coke acknowledged the "scoring discrepancy", but won't discuss what it is or the nature of it.

"Because the scoring discrepancy cannot be resolved and due to the extremely narrow margin between the first and second place winning sororities," the company decided to declare co-winners, the company statement says.

"Extremely narrow margin"?
Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but "narrow margin" indicates that one score was in fact higher than the other, right?

Was there supposed to be an award for second place?
And was it supposed to equal the award for first place?

Something is rotten in the state of Georgia...

Well, okay, North, if you wanna narrow the field to just those two.
Not really representative, though, eh?
That's like narrowing the field to Idi Amin and Charles Taylor.

Also, there isn't a "white race".

Having said that,
Rob.....you're an a-hole. Truly.

"TheTom sounds like a real blast at parties," Rob thought quietly to himself, wondering how anyone could have taken that as a serious statement and not the joke it clearly was. "Must be a mongoloid," he said to his screen.

It's your moniker, Rob...

"wondering how anyone could have taken that as a serious statement and not the joke it clearly was."

Have any more irony handy?

In the future the 'Step Off' should be reserved to just blacks to prevent future embarrassments like this.

Man, the racists Limbaughts around here sure can get up a head of steam about racism... somehow.

Sounds like some judges forgot the standard slavery reperations bonus.

Oh well. AA unemployement is still double ours, and the winners will all have careers while the losers will marry or be prisoners, so all's still right with the world.

Stepping competition?

WTF is that?

* clicks *

Riverdance meets the Matrix?

K, that was 9 minutes Spud aint ever getting back.

So an all white sorority wins the gig, someone complains and then the second place team who's not all-white gets a cheque fer 100,000 grand as well allegedly due to a "scoring discrepancy" but prolly mostly so that Coke doesn't appear racist in Atlanta?

That about it?

K, Spud's got an even bigger controversy.

Why the fuck does anyone care about this?

S'rsly.

Personally, Spud blames the recent spate of lame-assed dance competition movies fer this.

Got a problem with that opinion?

Bring It On, Biatch!

"Everday's a holiday.

...And night time's a party too!"

That's actually the lyrics to a song by a band called Tuppello Chain Sex. Good song. Spud's been looking fer a copy of it fer years. Youtube aint got it. The Istore aint got it. The lead guy in that band used to play fer Zappa. Saw 'em live many years ago. Good stuff.

Not to read into anything, but you seem to be implying a difference....

LOL sorry dude... I was drinking

Remember those guys dancing around the virgin in the Kong movie..........They took first place..................

So how come we have to know that it was a "White Sorority" that won the competition?

Why not just report that Zeta Tau Alpha won the competition?

Wasn't there some controversy over a white chick winning home coming queen or something like that at a historically black college? Maye she was valedictorian?

There was some news made over the fact the puddins' at da be learnins' place done be pit'd off. I think they just gotsed their hair did.

www.youtube.com

Definitely racist overtones...from those that weren't "white" (or should that be European-Americans?)

Yep. Double standards are alive and well.

K, that was 9 minutes Spud aint ever getting back.

Step off, Spud! I thought that was cool. I may even start the world's first middle-aged white male stepping team.

Because white greek organizations really don't step... and they certainly don't win competitions like this.

Fucking every other week at FSU there was another damn step show blocking the union. They take that shit really serious.

Although, white women have never really had a problem with dancing and all that crap so its not really surprising that they won, just more surprising that they were doing it in the first place.

More pics please, those young ladies appeared to be quite, well, hot. (judging from the tiny, tiny, movie at least...).

Why dey be hatin', yo?

Forget the racist part - WTF is up with white women beating black women at anything requiring rythm? Either whites are evolving rythm or these black girls were on the B team.

Seriously - this does not help race relations. I thought all blacks/gays/(pick your "repressed" group) wanted was to be treated equally? Seems what they really want is to be treated a little more "equal" than others.

"Video of the Zeta Tau Alpha routine causing the crowd to go nuts in Atlanta"

But was it really the routine or just the natural reaction to seeing a bunch of white girls?

I can see the judges' dilemna.

Was Van Johnson one of the judges?

ooppsss Van Jones.. Showing my age again.

On the website there are no pictures of the white sorority, and shouldn't have Delta Sigma Theta been second instead of third since there were two 1st place winners. This is a DIRECT result of stupid liberal race hustling, truly keeping the black man down.

C'mon Bros!!!

Step up your hockey game!!

MY BAD. I thought they were talking about cutting coke...

Fun video. I would love to have watched the competition live. Looks like a clean healthy fun for young people.

Perhaps "white men can't jump" but obviously "white women can step."

Seriously, the race-baiters are blinded by the white, I'm guessing.

So how come we have to know that it was a "White Sorority" that won the competition? Why not just report that Zeta Tau Alpha won the competition?

Because the race of the winners is what made it interesting. It's a cool story. That Arkansas sorority began stepping 16 years ago for a racial unity event. They kept it up and shocked the crowd with that performance, which included moves that are more common among fraternity teams.

UPDATE: The judges caved into the pressure and now the 2nd place team will "share" in the top honor.

I'm sure Rev Al and Jesse were gettin ready to "bust a cap in the cracker judges asses!"

More PC Bullshit!

The term "white sorority" has me confused.

Is it a sorority that happens to have white members? Or is it one which only allows white members?

Dem Cracker hoes be bumpiiiin! Daaayammmn!

More pics please, those young ladies appeared to be quite, well, hot. (judging from the tiny, tiny, movie at least...).

Different video, different angle of the winners at the Sprite Step Off -- one you can watch full screen.

Zeta Tau Alpha - Step Off Winners

Coca Cola has just succumbed to the pressure of racists that think white people can't dance.

AA's are going to complain no matter what the
issue is. Its really quite pathetic.

Suppose the skin color had been reversed in some competition. Would this still have been newsworthy?

Probably, in today's society. But there would have been laudatory and congratulatory statements for "having overcome obstacles" (yada, yada) and "breaking the race barrier."
