Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

When Republican Scott Brown won the Massachusetts special election to fill liberal icon Ted Kennedy's vacant Senate seat, he was hailed as a conservative hero and a symbol of the start of a revolution in American politics. But Brown's recent vote in favor of a Democrat-sponsored spending bill inspired thousands of conservatives to direct a firehose of anger at the newly-minted Senator via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The sudden turn against Brown is just one of a few current internal squabbles on the right that could distract the conservative movement's focus away from what's been its main focus over the past year: opposing the efforts by President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress to expand the role of government.

uhmm well he DOES want to get re-elected by a blue state next time around.

More ammunition for the circular firing squad that is the Party of FAIL.

Heck of a job, Rtards!!!

It's because of attacks like this that senators have to vote with the party and not what they think is best for the people they represent.

The GOP put Scott Brown in as quarterback, and he punted on first down!

The GOP rank and file is offended because he voted based on what he believes is best for the country, not what is best for the GOP.

Rush Limbaugh figured it out right away - he has just been keeping quiet about it.

Yes it is SO obvious how the Teabaggers are going to split the vote on the right.

The only thing the Party of NOPE has to offer the electorate is: Hey look at what a great job we did of trying to halt everything that would help the country!

good analogy, but completely wrong. he scored a touchdown on first down because he showed the teabaggers that he has no time for their idiocy.

Lipzoid's rule of politics #17. 'always distance yourself from the teabaggers at every occassion'.

Yes it is SO obvious how the Teabaggers are going to split the vote on the right.

I agree 100%. the 'fiscally conservative-socially liberal' folks, like me, who used to vote republican, will never vote with the teabaggers, not out of choice, but out of a basic philosophical difference over what the gov'ts role is.

I heard a news article on the radio today about 'millenials', children who come of age around the millenium. I don't remember the numbers but these folks, who will be voting now or soon are markedly more liberal than before.

Consider that and the fact that the GOP is infected with teabaggers, the GOP will only have success regionally but not nationally for some time to come.

This is bad. If they don't watch out, they'll become the minority party and not be able to acomplish anything.

you libtards are funny. right after Obama was elected, I told you all to watch it swirl down the drain at midterms. after months of ridiculing the thought, you're all looking around nervous now - all with good reason.

The GOP rank and file is offended because he voted based on what he believes is best for the country, not what is best for the GOP.

Exactly.

What we need is 49 more like him.

Grasping at straws, libbies?

"good analogy, but completely wrong"

In other words, bad analogy. At least in this case.
A better analogy might be "fumble", although that depends on whether or not Brown is on your team, or the other.

Turns out, he just might see politics as more than just a team sport.
And if that's the case, good for him.
We could use more of that.

Anyway, I'd hardly call this an instance of "infighting".
Brown voted to move the bill further along in the process.

It seems as if Brown is the only republican who understands why he got elected?

It seems Brown is the only politician who understands why he got elected.

It seems Brown is the only politician who understands why he got elected.

Which is something you can't say about most of the dems.

JEEZ! We get someone who actually thinks and THEN acts and we pigeon hole him! We're good! We expect the best and bitch anyway!

He's refreshingly INDEPENDENT! We need, not 49 BUT 99 more of his type.

It is OK to spend when it's actually needed, the problem is the spending NEVER gets curtailed or fully paid for. It continues to flow, good times or bad, ever faster!

States tax and charge fees for everything, pass what they can onto the Federal Government to continue funding and add additional programs to increase taxes over and over. Then the FEDS add Unfunded Mandates onto bills they pass and return these to the States to act upon! All we do is PAY (they call it 'Consumers')!

Only reductions are for programs directly impacting the folk (take that - you pesky taxpayers, we told you we NEED more and more).

It is cyclical and never ends!

The Repubs are just giving the Dems enough rope... Brown is artfully tying the knot.
