Last year, as working families struggled with rising health care costs and a recession, the five largest health insurance companies - WellPoint, UnitedHealth Group, Cigna, Aetna, and Humana - took in combined profits of $12.2 billion, up 56 percent over 2008.

These health insurance companies' profits grew even as nominal GDP decreased by 1 percent over this same time period.

And recent data show that the CEOs of America's five largest insurers were each compensated up to $24 million in 2008.

Why would the HC industry shine the light back on reform after they helped kill it?

They must already have a head count on the votes they have in congress and need to pay for it now.

if there is some way to kill this without allowing obama to take over the whole thing, I believe it should happen...and it could be a real bipartisan effort for a change.

The Babbler speaks the unvarnished truth for a change. Teabaggers and rank and file Rtards all want health care reform BUT the just would rather do without than let Obama get any credit for it.

Pure and simple.

Thanks for the honesty!!!

All left leaning states that tax and put mandates on health insurance companies.

My health insurance premiums in Texas were half that of New York, and California.

I'm shocked.
