The premier of Canada's east coast province is undergoing heart surgery in the United States this week because the treatment he is seeking was not available in his home province.

If government-run health care is a good thing, why wouldn't he just get his heart surgery in Canada?

Cuba has better doctors! We're not number 1 in health care! People in the US travel to get medical procedures done too, you stupid right wing fuck!

I know a guy who went to Bolivia for a penile lengthening procedure.

Now he calls it "Che".

I'd throw him and his bad ticker out of our Country.

The 6 million dollar question.

The mouthbreating cheerleader for the part of Fail didn't take the time to read the article.

The Canadians are pissed because this 'independently wealthy politician' wants to go to some unnamed clinic in the US for an unnamed heart procedure.

Probably checking into some private substance abuse clinic for a drying out and dosn't want the publicity if he stayed at home to do it.

Even if it is for a heart procedure, this is nothing to get Rtard panties in a twist. People travel all over the world for specialists. If the guy's doctor advised him to go to Bolivia because some doctor there was doing something special, he'd probably follow the doctor's advice.

This has Absolutely Nothing to do with our health care reform debate. Noone has ever said that the care in the US was substandard, it is very good if you can afford the luxury hospitals and rock star doctors. But it is undeniably far more expensive than it has any right to be.

Noone has ever said that the care in the US was substandard....

HOw in the world have you missed the numerous posts with data of the inferiority in infant mortality, "We're #37", etc.? Honestly, they were everywhere on this blog, and I think it was safe to say they were all posted by the left so surely your masters allowed you to see them.

What gives?

If American Healthcare is so Good ---- Why do Six Million Americans each year seek care overseas?

news.health.com

So what does that prove?

Not a fucking thing --- just like this thread!

People travel all over the world for specialists.

So what? The article makes clear that the heart procedure this guy needed was not available in Canada, and that he came here to get it. The point is that said procedure might not be available here if we follow the model of Canada.

Why do Six Million Americans each year seek care overseas?

The article you posted is about people going overseas because the procedures are cheaper - not because they are unavailable. This article is about a guy having to leave Canada because the heart procedure he needed was not available. I'd rather live somewhere that offers a procedure at a high cost than a place that does not offer it at all.

There won't be any health reform anyway, and not for many years. President Obama fucked up royally, it's stunning how bad he botched it.

Joe, you stupid fuck,

There are states in the USA that don't offer every medical procedure. Many people every day have to cross state lines to get procedures that aren't available at home.

The Canadians are bitching because this guy didn't go to another Canadian province to get the procedure and instead decided to go to a different country.

You mouthbreathers in the Red States are always coming to Blue States for your health care needs.

There are states in the USA that don't offer every medical procedure. Many people every day have to cross state lines to get procedures that aren't available at home.

So what? My point is that if the federal government were to follow the model of Canada, no state would offer the procedure this man needed.

You mouthbreathers in the Red States are always coming to Blue States for your health care needs.

Another falsehood pulled out of someone's axehole. I love it when people have to resort to lies to bolster their argument. Wouldn't it be better to just admit defeat than admit to being a bald-faced liar, axe?

Does anyone doubt axehole is cocosamville's 8th personality? There's no way 2 such stupid fucks can co-exist on one planet at one time.

A real glowing endorsement from that retard's link:

To be sure, the trend can have a downside. According to one study from researchers at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, people getting kidney transplants overseas tend to experience more complications, including rejection of the organ and severe infections, than do people opting to undergo the procedure in the United States.

And what happens with follow-up care once a so-called medical tourist returns to the United States? And which country's laws prevail if there's a problem?
