Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Health insurance scams are growing at an alarming rate across the U.S. Oklahoma resident Bob Harper, 63, bought what he thought was insurance from a group called the American Trade Association for less than $400 a month, but it failed to pay claims and had no permission to sell insurance in his state. "There could be thousands of people who have bought bogus health coverage and they don't even know it," said James Quiggle of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud.

Fake insurance like Blue Cross?

I was waiting for that.

The biggest scam reported so far was called "public option"

Waiting for Ponzi to jump the shark.

This is not new. HI insurance scams are OLD news, cause they have been happening for decades.

Uh-Oh..we had better get Pelosi, Reed and Obama to look into this right away! We need the Gov't to oversee and regulate it so no citizen gets hurt by those evil doers!

It said you were also Mysterytoy

Expect this everywhere as deregulation takes effect.

obamacare!!! the same thing, both worthless.

Politics aside, this is some kind of new low in scams.

I'm beginning to think we're going to have to bring back the guillotine to get control over this society again.

It's pretty well regulated. Their payout is based on statistics and set up by actuaries. They payout all of what they take in minus a small percentage which is usually regulated at the state level.

Is this the new Health Care Plan by Obama?

Yes.

That should have been a poll question on this thread.

I find it humorous when people base their opinions on buzz words . . . really shows that the spin machines have hit their base.

Insurance is what has allowed medical costs to spiral out of control. The fact that we can pay more means that they can charge more...they want to keep us on the edge of being to able to afford it or not so that they can continue to bleed us dry and we will keep paying.

They payout all of what they take in minus a small percentage

Yeah, sure. Keep blathering.

Members of organized crime do pretty well too.

Interesting comment, Toy. You obviously know more about it than you had time to post last night.

Please take the time today and share with the class.

A quality health care system cannot be a profit industry.

The only way insurance companies can make money is to deny care, lower the quality of care, increase premiums, and if we let them continue we will end up with an unhealthy, unhappy, sick population.

Anyone who does not believe that the best indicators of a nation's superiority are it's Health, Education, and Quality of Life are not paying attention to what matters!

People who deny reform of Health Care and don't want to have the best system in the world, don't love this country!

"The only way insurance companies can make money is to deny care, lower the quality of care, increase premiums, and if we let them continue we will end up with an unhealthy, unhappy, sick population."

Great point. Their business model is just the opposite of everyone else's. Screw as many customers as you can, and cherry-pick the ones that don't need your service.
