The President demonstrates his lack of intelligence in economic matters. When they approved these nutty corporate taxes years ago, what else did they expect to happen?? The left has an annoying habit of declaring common sense behavior as "unfair" and even criminal when in reality anti-business laws cause these things. How many Americans have no jobs because of this stupid way of thinking? Tax evaders my ass. They were forced overseas.

Exactly, the outsourcing loophole needs to be done away with.

Diareah is apparently a corporate whore that wants all of our jobs to go overseas.

AWWWK!!! Polly want a cracker!!!! AWWWK!!!!

Every American ought to refuse to even talk to customer service representatives who call us from India. Tell them to tell their companies we will do business with companies who hire Americans.

BTW, apparently Obama is starting to hear us working class folks. About time!

One last point, it sure would be nice if our anger about outsourcing could transcend partisanship, it effects us all, and it will effect our kids even more. Consider what you want to leave behind for them when you decide where you stand on the issue.
It isn't Democratic or Republican, Conservative or LIberal, it's American vs. (insert country name).

If they would change the tax laws, these companies would bring the operations back here.

HEY there young lady

BHO isnt doing anything of the sort
just look at pelosi's aide about health care and you will see we were right all along.
that summit, if you want to call it that, is a dog and pony show and a farce.
they have no intention of listening to anyone from the right..just enough to make it LOOK good..
the really AMAZING thing is that these chicago thugs like obama and rhom and axelrod are still ignoring the LOUD voices from new jersey and virginia and MASS....

It's more often the cheap labor than the tax laws that entice companies overseas.

The effective tax rate here is about the same as most places, around 15 percent.

Tighties need to understand that patriotism plays no part in the corporate bottom line.

I'd rather it were not "about the same" but far below the average. That is what creates investment and jobs, corky.

Every American ought to refuse to even talk to customer service representatives who call us from India.

I always just keep saying I don't know what they are saying until I get xfered to someone back in the US.

It really pisses them off too.

It's more often the cheap labor than the tax laws that entice companies overseas.

so Obama is full of shit?

In any case, I thought 75% of corporation's tax rate was 0%.

-I'd rather it were not "about the same" but far below the average

What color is the sky in the imaginary world where you live?

I'd rather it were not "about the same" but far below the average.

Well then take a look at what % of discretionary spending defense it and tell us how you would pay for it.

To be fair, I think we should address companies who fall under the characteristics Obama is talking about.

I'm not sure it's worth it for call center jobs though. I know of several call centers that moved overseas. Average pay there was like $9/hr.

It would be better to focus this on engineering and manufacturing jobs that are going overseas.

If they would change the tax laws, these companies would bring the operations back here.

as many have been saying lately and as I have said repeatedly.

look to TEXAS for model
business tax cieling raised to one million for two years and then will drop to 600K after being at 250k for some time

result

last year..57% of jobs created were in TEXAS...
and that stat was NOT from GOODHAIR"S campaign

"I know of several call centers that moved overseas. Average pay there was like $9/hr."

There are millions who would gladly take a $9.00 per hour job right now. If all the call center jobs were brought back it would raise demand for labor and the wages would rise.

"I'd rather it were not "about the same" but far below the average. That is what creates investment and jobs, corky."

YOu won't create many jobs if you don't have the infrastructure ready to make those businesses possible. It takes money to build and maintain infrastructure. Diablo is stuck in a Reaganomics mindset, that lowering taxes creates jobs. We have an economy that disproves that. As we learned (but unfortunately forgot) in the fifties and sixties it isn't low taxes that create jobs but rather the avoidance of high taxes which motivates people to invest and create jobs. The lower the tax the less incentive there is to reinvest profit back into a business.

If all the call center jobs were brought back it would raise demand for labor and the wages would rise.

which is probably why they(the jobs) are not here anymore. They didn't want to pay $9, you think they want to pay $12? India was a better option at $9 so I doubt that is worth it in their eyes.

Again, this effort would be better spend on more skilled jobs such as skilled manufacturing, engineering, software programers etc...

not unskilled call center jobs.

The growth projection, over the next year economists estimate the U.S. will add about 133,000 jobs a month. But with about 100,000 new jobs a month needed just to soak up new entrants to the work force, that pace of job creation will only slowly reduce the high unemployment rate.

Some economists say job growth needs to average more than 200,000 per month for the U.S. to see a strong recovery in jobs.

J.P. Morgan Chase economist Bruce Kasman said, "You need to change incentives for hiring in a permanent way, but that is hard to do amid deficits."

The Democrats believe in the Public Sector for creating jobs, so I don't see any major changes in the unemployment rate anytime soon.

2010 Mid Terms will be interesting.

It's the debt stupid!

"Well then take a look at what % of discretionary spending defense it and tell us how you would pay for it."

How many time must I repeat I am against the war and military boondoggles before this line of argument stops??

"Diablo is stuck in a Reaganomics mindset, that lowering taxes creates jobs. We have an economy that disproves that."

I didn't vote for Reagan. I favor lowering taxes AND cutting the size of government, social programs and military, to return to prosperity.
Who is the next sophist to throw out a worn-out reply?

Bush = 2 tax cuts for the wealthy = 8.4 million jobs lost.

So much for that theory.
