Reid pulls job bill...

Are Dems. going to play hard ball?

Libs are by nature more tolerant, easy-going people who sometimes need a wake-up call before they defend themselves from locksteppers.

Looks like maybe recent events have provided that call. I hope so.

Well, playing nice got them an obstructionist black eye from the republicons who are all too willing to play politics with vital appointments, economy and health care.

The idea of bipartisanship is nice, but you have to have two parties that are willing to compromise. The republicons will only compromise when you give them exactly what they want and exclude everything they are against.

Cool, another round of NAMBLA members for the media to sack.

Reply didn't take. Here goes again:

Both sides play the same games. Once you partisan idiots understand and deal with the fact that your side engages in partisan politics as much as the other side, an atmosphere of true bipartisanship can arise. Until you are willing to make that admission, there will never be compromise

But senators did not confirm three Pentagon nominees that Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) placed holds on earlier this week. Congressional aides said Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) is also holding up the confirmation of a State Department nominee to serve as a representative to a conference on disarmament.

It will be interesting to see how much of that Pentagon pork Shelby's holding out for he actually ends up getting.

"While this is a good first step, there are still dozens of nominees on hold who deserve a similar vote, and I will be looking for action from the Senate when it returns from recess," Obama said in the statement. "If they do not act, I reserve the right to use my recess appointment authority in the future."

Good fer you.

Be Well.
