A lot of brave folks in Iran, going into the streets again. The gubmint there started rounding up the usual suspects days before this event, and I thought maybe the protest would fizzle out, but maybe not.

Perhaps the rwingers who whose only solution is to nuke Iran might consider whether they would brave the streets at this time for their country.

This is newsworthy. I actually agree with this.

I hate to defend Obama but I really don't understand why people are criticizing him for not doing anything about Iran.

What is going to do? We are broke. Our military is already fighting two wars. Threatening Iran right now would be instantly recognized as an empty, foolish gesture. All it reveals is that our leaders are unable to think up any actions we can actually follow through with.... Keeping your mouth shut when everyone knows you dissaprove of the siuation at least creates the illusion that you may have something up your sleeve.

I really don't see how acting like a full of shit blowhard would improve the situation. Since there is literally nothing we can do, it makes most sense not to say anything. And IF we were planning on doing something drastic, then silence makes even more sense.

The worst thing Obama could do is come out publicly in favor of the Greens, which would only give credence to the Iran gubmint meme of US complicity in the marches.... and be the last thing the Greens want us to do.

I would think all the Cons on this site would be praising the Iranian government and decrying the protesters.

Face it, Cons in America want the same thing that the Government in Iran provides, control of Social, Cultural and Religious issues. The only thing they differ on is the aesthetic.

Sure would, it would send the message to the Iranian government and their supporters that Obama is on the side of the protesers... and thereby give them an excuse to arrest and kill more of them.
