There are folks in Fairfax County who would have just killed him. He would have simply disappeared, including his birth certificate. He was lucky they were just marshals.

To be honest, I used to be for gun control but now I live in a city that is mostly Democrat and there is a lot of crime in the black neighborhoods. I need an automatic weapon for protection and am thinking about buying my 16 year old a gun to take to school. My wife carries a taser in her pocketbook and I have a zip gun in my car in case someone tries to carjack me

Get a semi-automatic weapon...or if you aren't familiar with guns much, a revolver.

A fully automatic weapon will cost you a LOT of money, both for the weapon and the various Federal and possibly State, permits.

If your state allows (check www.handgunlaw.us), get some training and a CCW (if necessary) so that you know how to use it AND when to use it. (Not just during an anger management course ;) )

Get the family trained. Education takes away the mystery and provides you and them with an advantage.
