Mendocino is north of San Francisco and has some beautfiful coastline but it's rugged with a lot of cliffs. The article said this woman was the 4th person in 18 months to die falling off a cliff in the area.

i've been to the mendocino headlands, beautiful area. wonderful town with super friendly people.

this is a regular occurrence, albeit most of the falls happen because someone is way too wasted to be walking near the cliff.

if it was symbolic of anything, it was symbolic of the GOP waltzing off the cliff with GWB in Nov. '08. Obama's history is not yet written, so it would be premature to chalk up the comparison now. in a few years, we'll see. ultimately, this story is apolitical, no matter how hard you try.
