There are a few things that really are disturbing, even morbid in life. Pedophilia, crack addiction, domestic violence, John Tesh's music, and World of Warcraft.

its really sad when grown men dont know how to handle something like a retarded video game. I dont understand why someone is enthralled with such a cheap thrill. This game has no action, is a blatent ripoff of dungeons and dragons and diablo, and just sucks in general.

Interesting, my wife would say the same thing about Lego Indiana Jones. But fuck her anyway;)

Find him a woman, then let him know Guild Wars doesn't have a monthly fee, then maybe he can afford a woman (well, a cheap one).

Option 2: Big magnet.

Good luck and may the Schwartz be with you!

I knew a guy who almost dropped out of grad school over this game.

Er, flunked out.

"..about Lego Indiana Jones"

explains a lot about you.

World of Warcraft is simply a skinner box.

The cruel joke about World of Warcraft is that many people play WoW because they are exceptionally antisocial. However, at a certain point in the game, they are forced to work together socially with others who are just as antisocial as they are in order to advance in a game. This is hilarious and pathetic all at the same time.

No wonder our nation is so dumb.

and the Blizzard hacks that ripped off Diablo be given a one way trip to the stratosphere.

Wasn't it those same Blizzard hacks who MADE Diablo?

Hehe, exactly. And Ply, keep in mind that just as many hours of life are wasted on Dungeons & Dragons and Diablo, and who knows how many others. And for pretty much the same reasons.

Everything in moderation. Including moderation.

WOW addicts should be shot

With a crossbow, right?

I truly was under the impression this would be an article about WOW Christian Music...was I ever wrong. Hey, it happens.

I'm exposed to some of the most addicted video game players I never realized could exist. Some of these guys have virtually no non-military skills beyond WOW and Modern Warfare 2. I use my free time constructing things and keeping up on the news. My favorite comeback whenever someone says to me something about my being really good and building stuff, I say "Yeah, but your really good on XBOX." That usually causes quite a pause as the gears slowly turn in their heads. I remind them that one day, they are going to wish they had spend some time learning how to do things that matter.

I always thought WOW stood for Work Out World.

A WOW thread?

Woot!

Spud's a huge gamer. Played D&D fer years. Was a DM. Luffed the original Diablo and non mmo-rpg version of WoW back in the day etc.

Just over a year ago Spud started playing WOW figuring it was just gonna be fer a month or so.

A year later Spud had turned into a total wowhead.

Gots a leet level 80 Huntard also named Dethspud as a Main a level 60 Pally called Moemiym (My Other Epic Mount Is Your Momma), a level 50 priest called Doctadoom, and bunch of other lesser alts.

Quit playing about 3 weeks ago cos it was just getting silly and have been going through serious withdrawals ever since.

A lot of the hardcore players of the game are just as IraqiBukkakke described. Socially inept folks trying their damndest to interact socially in order to achieve mutual goals.

That all noted Spud thinks it wouldn't hurt to at least look at the new Diablo 3 when it comes out.

Looks kinda cool.

Be Well.

/Entering the Drudge Retort as ya do
stage left.

Games that are always on and require massive amount of playing time to be any good are addictive as hell. I recently freed myself from the humongous time suck that is Tribal Wars. My kids were into WoW for a while, but thankfully quit.

I don't see WoW as a successor to Diablo, though. It borrowed much more from EverQuest, or as we came to call it, EverCrack.

I used to play D&D avidly, particularly back in high school. I was a dungeon master, but not the kind that keeps women tied up on giant wheels. This should come as no surprise to anyone.

"I have no personal time, because this dipshit is a videogame addict."

My contribution to this thread will be to point out that what this really means is that this dude is pissed off that he can never get his jerk on due to his roomie being there all the time.

You're welcome.

Yeah, WOW is much more like Evercrack than Diablo but the new Diablo 3 has borrowed liberally from both games and become much more like them.

The reason Diablo 3 is getting so much Buzz these days is fer that reason and cos folks are jonzing fer the new innovation of the interactive enviroment that allows you to topple walls on mobs and such.

That noted the newest content in WOW is some tuff stuff and most of the casuals won't have seen much of it before Cataclysm comes out.

WOW ability to add on to existing lore and incorporating new content and storyline makes it the undisputed champ of all the MMORPGs Spud has checked out to date.

I was a dungeon master, but not the kind that keeps women tied up on giant wheels.

Spud's been both types of DM.

They are both kinda addictive albeit in different ways.

Be Well.

I'd much prefer to use my level 68 Sword of Exaltation (+17 bonus attack!); unless they have a Helm of Invulnerability or Amulet of the Dead (reuseable), they're goners...

Yeah, but have your pet tank for ya.

Then again, I'm all in favor of Stealth/Ambush/Eviscerate.
