Prior to their arrest at the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Laura Silsby's group of American missionaries had at least one prior run-in with Haitian police and were forced to release 40 children before they reached the border, a Haitian police officer told CNN.

It's like shining a light on the corruption and the horrible conditions for children in Haiti.

However, the hate for Christains is like roaches running from the light.

It's amazing!

Incoherent.

www.cbsnews.com

This isn't about "hatred for Christians". The martyr card doesn't work here except for those with the "professional victim" mindset.

Silsby has a record of malfeasance, was caught not just once, but twice flaunting Haitian law, and there are still zealots crying for her? Truly delusional.

The hits just keep on coming. Silsby was going to turn the children over to the Catholics? $7000.00 a month at a facility she never mentioned to her fellow "missionaries"?

All this coming from a deadbeat mom and failed businesswoman? Just who was going to foot the $7000/mo tab?

Haiti can release the innocent but naive; Silsby can stay.

Nothing has changed in the facts of the case, though the propaganda is being stepped up.

Reading the list of stories on the left side of the idaho statesman link is pretty interesting.

I wonder what this woman's real motivations were given 8/10 people now seem to seriously doubt her.

"Nothing has changed in the facts of the case..."

Correct.

Nothing has.

The woman tried to do something that she knew was illegal and got busted.

As noble as her intentions may have been, it was a stupid decision.

Sometimes stupid decisions have unfortunate consequences.

How does the media only tell parts of stories that have been on the internet for days. This stupid bitch is a deadbeat delusional wacko. She should have hard labor in Haiti. The other religious nitwits should also pay fines or do some repentence and be forced to educate themselves beyond the bible.

That being said. There are and will be plenty of Haiti kiddos for sale, their Gov't just wants a piece of the pie. That they, like us allow people to do things to children and let anyone breed will produce a bunch of problems all for themsleves. It could be a great country, but you have to have a collective authority that will administer good law.

As noble as her intentions may have been, it was a stupid decision.

In reality? I think she knew it was risky but took the chance. I'm thinking that they really don't understand how successful they are.

You say stupid and I say they set out to accomplish this and only dreamed of only a 10th of the media exposure.

The best way to avoid Haitian law is to stay as far away as possible. The country is a virtual paradise with open sewers and dead bodies everywhere, why would anyone want to deprive small children from growing up in a voodoo cess pool of aids and poverty...

And what would your reaction had been if Muslims had descended on NOLA after Katrina and started spiriting children away to another country without authorization?

The same thing would happen they would all be arrested, the difference is unlike New Orleans after Katrina Haitians do not have the ability to just move to Texas. Haitian authorities need to bring all their remaining resources to bear to insure not one child can escape this beautiful paradise of open sewers aids corruption and dead bodies...

So you feel that what they did is justified and they shouldn't be facing criminal charges?

You say stupid and I say they set out to accomplish this and only dreamed of only a 10th of the media exposure.

So you think this was a publicity stunt?

" the difference is unlike New Orleans after Katrina Haitians do not have the ability to just move to Texas"

And what if the Muslims only took those children unable to relocate to Texas?

And what would your reaction had been if Muslims had descended on NOLA after Katrina and started spiriting children away to another country without authorization?

If they had taken Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush, Lance Moore, Colston, Meachem, Shockey, and a few others, I would have praised Allah and we'd be throwing a party here in Minneapolis.

Those people aside, good point.

Amazing what some people will try when they believe "they know better."

Oh wait, that describes people who post here.....

"You say stupid and I say they set out to accomplish this and only dreamed of only a 10th of the media exposure."

Ooooohhhhh....I get it now...it was just a publicity stunt!

Stupendous!!

That lady's a freakin' genius!

I can't wait to see her next move!

Wait a minit....publicity for who???

And what if the Muslims only took those children unable to relocate to Texas?

If our country was in the same shape Haiti is in right now and they were here to help what's the problem...

So you feel that what they did is justified and they shouldn't be facing criminal charges?

#16 | Posted by jpw at 2010-02-09 01:51 PM

Nope they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of Haitian law, most people have the good common sense to stay away in the first place. The entire country should be BOMBED WITH RUBBERS and FOOD, no need to even set one foot on Haitian soil...

LOL so no.

"If our country was in the same shape Haiti is in right now..."

Are those goalposts heavy to move?

Just admit it: if the situation were reversed, so would your outlook.

If our country were the size of Rhode Island and in the middle of the Ocean and had a corrupt government and 200,000 dead bodies and open sewers and was the poorest nation on the planet then we could "reverse the situation"...

So no I stand by what I have already said BOMB the entire Country with RUBBERS and FOOD, no need for any Americans to set foot on Haitian soil in the first place especially that idiot Sean Penn...

And what would your reaction had been if Muslims had descended on NOLA after Katrina and started spiriting children away to another country without authorization?

I think the parents would have been upset, but in this case, the parents are very happy to give their children a better life.

Nice strawman, though

" the difference is unlike New Orleans after Katrina Haitians do not have the ability to just move to Texas"

And what if the Muslims only took those children unable to relocate to Texas?

What if aliens abducted the children?

My strawman is better.

You're too stupid to see that you both kicked your own asses simultaneously.

Cut 'n paste seems to be beyond Eddie's capability.

He'll likely do better in the apple bob later.

mAnn Coulter is providing the apple.....

Could we just stick to what's possible, instead of veering off into the realm of impossible fantasy?

Actually, I think Eddie probably has something like a central nervous system which his minders hooked up to a random word generating program that switches on every time he swallows a spoonful of pablum and clicks the "Publish Comment" after each spittle-flecked burp and belch.

But your description of a worm seems to outwit you every day.

Hmm.....

After they were stopped, someone called from HHS decried that these children had not had their mandatory cancer injection yet. Even the illegal child trafficking that was feared had been stopped for this purpose as well.

"We are in Haiti as long as we are needed," US Army Colonel Gregory Kane, the director of US Joint Task Force Haiti operations, said on Saturday.

There must remain a crisis in order to be "needed". Outside groups could not be allowed to solve problems for them -- by methods that would differ from complete fulfillment of their agenda.

What do you expect from voodoo government.
They hate their children and would rather have them die.
Paganism teaches chld sacrifice and death rather than conversion to becoming a nice guy who wants to give up sin and help others the rest of his life.

"What do you expect from voodoo government."

Isn't there something in that book of yours about bearing false witness?

So, who is feeding the 40 children now?

No one.

The corrupt Haitians in arresting the missionaries have sealed their doom.

Tsunami time.

If Haiti is in irreconcilable error it will get wiped out.
If there is hope for Haiti, nothing will happen.
Let's see what happens.
