Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A multimillionaire mom fed her 8-year-old son a fatal dose of pills, then spent the night with his body inside a ritzy midtown hotel before a failed suicide try, police said. Gigi Jordan was "babbling incoherently" after police kicked in the door of her $2,300-a-night suite at The Peninsula hotel to find her son Jude faceup on the bed and foaming at the mouth. The former pharmaceutical company president paid the bill in cash, ordered room service and didn't leave the room for two days. Authorities found nearly 1,000 pills and pill bottles and a rambling note expressing her love for the small boy. Police were summoned an hour earlier by a relative in Belgium who had received terrifying e-mails from Jordan stating she is going to kill herself and her kid, a police source said.

The artical said nothing at all about Xanex or Ambien, do you have another source or do you just make shit up as you go along...

She was just following the directions.... directions of that little voice in her head.

no taxshifter, I don't make things up. A little research instead of partisan squabbles would do you some good.

She'll plead insanity and spend 1 1/2 yrs in some nice mental hospital.

I'm no fan of mind-altering pharmacological devices, but when I read a claim linking "virtually every school shooting" to legal drugs "in one way or another", I start looking for Alex Jones peeking around the corner. Statements like that are worthy of David Icke or Glen Beck. They're either a very poor attempt at persuasion, or merely intended to incite disagreement. Either way, the poster isn't saying anything worthy of my time.

If it wasn't so unworthy, you wouldn't have spent any time responding. You're sounding paranoid. Is that because you know it's the truth? You don't have to like the truth. Nobody was asking you for an ad hominem denial.

Worthiness has nothing to do with it. When people read your batfuck insane threads, it's hard to resist cracking a few jokes at your expense. Unlike real life, the internet is an anonymous forum where it is entirely acceptable to make fun of a retard.

Hurry up, LR... tell yor mommy to hurry up and pack your lunch. You're going to miss the short bus.

"Nobody was asking you for an ad hominem denial."

That's the entire point of this blog, bonehead. People post stories and other people comment on them.

If you don't like it, post your nonsense elsewhere.

A solid argument can be made that many are mentally insane themselves.

The more they swallow, the more they become mentally imbalanced.

I love it when the resident crazies describe themselves and don't even know it.

Murder-suicide has happened often under the influence of SSRIs.

It happens without SSRIs as well.

Have you ever stopped to think that the reason the person is on SSRIs is BECAUSE they are mentally imbalanced?

I haven't read enough on the topic, but it seems there's room for debate as two where the cart and where the horse should go.

Remember the Columbine school shootings? That was a pharmaceutical-inspired mass murder. Virtually every school shooting that has happened in the last twenty years has been linked in one way or another to psychiatric medications sold by pharmaceutical companies.

That's funny. I thought it was because of Marilyn Manson...

That's the entire point of this blog

The point is to make ad hominem attacks. Perhaps for the brainless like yourself that is your only possible contribution.

Do you follow accusations of ad hominem attacks with ad hominem attacks on purpose in some lame attempt at humor?

Are you also feeling irrelevant?

Are you also feeling irrelevant?

By pointing out the irony of you bitching about ad hominem attacks?

If you ask LR a question starting with "have you ever stopped to think," you can be pretty sure that the answer will be a resounding "no".

It would not be at all surprised to learn that Gigi Jordan was on antidepressant drugs (SSRIs) or other antipsychotics.

From this comment, you don't know whether she was taking drugs or what role they played in the crime. News reports indicate that she made her fortune at Mirra running pharmaceutical companies making cancer drugs and then moved into New York real estate.

Don't come down too hard on LR, RCade. Honesty is not one of his strong points, but at least he tries to be entertaining from time to time.

I don't think he's trying to be entertaining.

And who says money can't buy happiness?

Scientists May Have Uncovered Why Anti-Depressants Cause Suicidal Behavior

For years, antidepressant drugs have been connected with an increased suicide risk and aggressive behavior - and researchers may have just unknowingly uncovered the reason. A new study has just found that antidepressants are actually decreasing the amount of serotonin in many patients' brains, instead of increasing it as they are meant to. Serotonin is a feel good brain chemical that's thought to be lacking in depression patients, and depression drugs are meant to function by increasing serotonin levels. However, according to Columbia University's Dr. Rene Hen who led the study, in about half of the population "the more antidepressants try to increase serotonin production, the less serotonin (these people) actually produce." So, for half of the population, these drugs would actually be making the condition worse.

I used to joke that it was because people who were too depressed to bother suddenly felt good enough to try.
