Even with an economic stimulus, a bank bailout and two wars, non-medical spending by the federal government is a smaller percentage of the economy than it was during most of Ronald Reagan's administration.

"But the Tea Partiers seem to be promoting more partisanship, not less. Many are rejecting candidates deemed to be too likely to cross over and reach accommodations with Democrats. That's a recipe for more debt."

This weekend in Naples there was a big Tea Party event, lots of people holding signs at a major intersection, shouting and honking.

I don't know about elsewhere, but most of these folks, were they honest, would admit that what got them out on the streets is that they are about to lose the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.... passed by reconciliation and not included in the budget.... they are about to be forced to stop spending of our children's money.

Now that's truly revolting.

This article ignores the main truth of the matter. Nothing matters to the teabaggers other than a black man living in the White House. Anyone saying different is a big steaming pile of Republican base.

TPer's need to focus their aim on real problems instead of imagined ones.

"tax receipts collected by Washington will total 14.8% of the economy."

Either that or you could use real numbers which are over 28% of our gdp, Reagan was between 18-20%.
