Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

An Oregon couple whose son died when they chose prayer rather than medical treatment was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide Tuesday after a Clackamas County jury deliberated for two days. Jeff and Marci Beagley's 16-year-old son Neil died in June 2008 of complications stemming from a urinary tract blockage.

The Beagleys' church, the Followers of Christ, is not a stranger to controversy. More than a decade ago, Oregon City officials claimed to have discovered an unusually large number of child deaths in families belonging to the church. This led to a 1999 law limiting the use of religious defenses in criminal negligence cases. This case is seen as the second major test of that law.

....it was a urinary blockage.......

.....Jesus doesn't do pricks........

.....Jesus doesn't do pricks........

That isn't completely true. Jesus does do pricks to the extent that pricks were "intelligently designed" incorrectly and need to be re-engineered upon birth, a medical treatment I'm certain the parents opted for instead of life-saving medicine. Strange irony don't you think?

God commands us to take a sharp stone to foreskin --and the clitoris depending upon which 3000 year old laws of Abraham you chose to obey-- because apparently god made an error in designing our reproductive systems. However, that same organ god commands to be treated by surgery on the outside deserves no medical attention if its intelligent engineering goes awry afterwards on the inside. The whole thing is very confusing even for a lucid person. When left to the mind of an insane person like is this case here, it quickly moves from confusing to tragic.
