-Crowley entered the house in good faith.

Now, I honestly don't know what legally constitutes "disorderly conduct", and under what circumstances a person can be charged with it. There may be a measure of officer's discretion involved. In any case, the charges were dropped.

But to claim false arrest or denial of rights in this case requires a certain burden of proof to be met.

And regardless of how good they are, Gates' PBS shows are irrelevant to the rightness or wrongness of what happened.

This cop was a public employee. As such he has an obligation to all of the public. Any public or government employee should know that what you say in public can and WILL be used against you IN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION. Making your agency look so bad it affects the ability of others in that agency to do their jobs is grounds for firing.
