I believe the point is that there is always the latest "distraction opiate" of the masses from the things that really should matter to Americans. Whether it's the latest Lost episode, Michael Jackson story, movie blockbuster, American Idol, Grammy's propaganda piece or millions of other built-in propaganda advertisements to everyday life. The superbowl is just one more of those huge distractions. The commercials that everyone will be mezmorized in will contain tons of propaganda.

At least you can count on the first three to be going on at your place on Super Bowl Sunday.

Once in a while, one has to escape reality.

Why do people try to ruin the fun for other people? Reading a book and watching the super bowl are not mutually exclusive, BTW.

SUPER BOWL - 3:30 p.m. PST today

I'm going to place my own (totally uneducated) bet and pick the SAINTS to win by 7 points.

I'm with you, Chris. I mean, "The Who"...nice. As for the points, you're probably right but I'll go for Saints by 10.

Yeah let's sit in front of the TV for several hours tonight and worship some ball chucking idiots, and make the wealthy team owners, advertisers and players that have been on the receiving end of our public tax dollars for their stadiums, etc. even richer than they already are.

America - a country where the poor are suckered and forced into paying alms to the NFL so as to make these entertainers even richer.
