A lot of people talk tough here on the DR, and on the web in general. So the question arises in my mind whether or not people are the least bit sincere when advocating violence.

whether or not people are the least bit sincere when advocating violence.

No. A resounding no. The people who talk tough would probably make up all sorts of excuses if actually propositioned for a date/time for an actual fight.

BTW I don't see your poll, I should F*cking beat the sh*t out of you.

Takes a minute to post the poll after posting the thread. You were to quick for me.

Yes, but only if dinner isn't still hot when you sit down... fucking brawds.

Yo Moder8... or should I say Moder-douche... where the fuck do you get off asking people what the fuck they think about violence? You rancid cunt, that kind of personal shit is none of your goddamn business. Then again, yo' momma was none of my business but I spent a lot of time gettin' personal with her! Whatcha gonna do 'bout that? Huh? That's right... you ain't gonna do nothing, bitch, 'cause you know who you're fuckin with.

Yeah, I eat bullets for breakfast and wash 'em down with scotch. I was in a riot and got shot with three rubber bullets and still kept beating the shit out of a pig. I do knife tricks drunk and blindfolded. I once picked up a downed power line and it barely fuckin' tingled. When I walk into a room, radios stop working. I got thrown off the UCLA football team for being too violent. But most importantly, I know Mexican judo... judo know if I gotta knife... judo know if I gotta gun, judo know nothing, puto.

I'm going to kick your fuckin' ass, you know that? Yeah, that's right, I'll fuck you up, motherfucker, and when you're down on the ground I'm gonna give your punk ass a mushroom stamp.

LMAO!

What you Republicans call violence I call foreplay.

I can set my own fractures.
I have stiched my own wounds since I was a child.
I pull my own teeth. Regularly file others.
Knew I had cancer 2 years before any doctor(pain meds).
If I am injured to the point of death, there are explicit demands to not use life saving measures, including blood transfusions. At least 7 scull fractures. Double shattered mandable in a bar fight (very painful). 2 heart attacks. Tossed from a moving vehicle twice. Run over by a car or truck 2 times. Whooping cough, measels, mumps (8-9 times),pox. survived a 5.5 grain dose of methaqualone sulphate.
I work 7 days a week, on an average of 4 hrs. sleep a night. I work in -20 to 120 f, year round.
I dont wear watches, because they quit working in a matter of seconds, and are non-repairable. I dont wear any jewelry, as they leave burn marks on my body, if worn more than a few minutes. Most electronic equipment goes berserck when I am present. I can knock a grown man to the ground( static charge)just by shaking his hand. I dont shake many hands.
I stand 5'8" tall, weight of 205, a 31 inch waist, 48-18 shirt. I eat at least 10000 calories, plus 1 pound of chocolate, every day, for at least the last 25-30 years.
I scare doctors.

LOL!!

Here's one of my favories:

Elementary School Bans Tag

well I can certainly understand where they are coming from.

70% of injuries occur during recess, ok we are mostly talking scrapes and bumps but we are also talking broken bones, fractures, serious cuts etc.

my kid comes home from school with a broken arm, i will want to hold someone responsible.

There are issues that come along with this like bullying and supervision.

How is a parent going to feel if his kid collides with someone and gets knocked out suffers brain damage or something? The question is why is an activity being allowed.

Only people speaking the language of known conflict have now become the entire housing military.

If someone is a serious threat to my children or my wife, then yes, I will use violence.

Damn, Jak, that gitmboy post is priceless...

Rex is pretty fuckin cool.

I love causing people to threaten violence with plain old typed out words. It's especially gratifying when those plain old typed out words burn so badly that the person actually offers to pay for a plane ticket so they can get even.

I don't consider it violence. I consider it the gift of giving.

"So the question arises in my mind whether or not people are the least bit sincere when advocating violence."

"Is it acceptable to use physical violence against those you disagree with?"

If the answer to your first question is no, then the results of the poll won't be very helpful.

There seems to be bit of a disconnect here between the idear of threatening violence over the internet and actually using violence irl.

In terms of the latter Spud firmly believes that the only good excuse fer real-world violence is self defense or defense of the innocent.

And even then it's the last option not the first one.

In terms of the former, the whole "internet tuff guy" routine, Spud sez "Meh, no biggie"

Maosy Tongue, 101 Airhorn, Rex et al have made it their SOP since day one.

But at the end of the day they are just words not rocks or bullets.

Spud believes in free speech passionately but recognizes that Free Speech and consequence-free speech are two different animals.

Purely obnoxious, content-free, threatening, abusive insult-laden posts have a tendency to find their way to the RDC thread PDQ anyways around here as they in no way advance the dialogue and are massive Wastes of Bandwidth as a rule.

Be Well.

Agreed, SPUD.

I think it takes two to play. Can't say I've ever had any DR people take that approach with me. Or vice versa.

I think it takes two to play.

~Ooh-Rah

True that.

Can't say I've ever had any DR people take that approach with me. Or vice versa.

That's cos yer a respectful poster who engages in honest debate so that even people who have contrary political beliefs to you have respect for you.

Well, that and yer blog-name.

Farking with a Marine is a mugs game!

Be Well.

/K, nuff blog-fun fer now fer the spuddish one.
//Exiting the DRagon
stage left.

No, definitely not and I will slay the first person who disagrees with me!

I don't threaten people here and I wouldn't threaten someone I'm about to hit either. Threats make it harder to defend yourself in court and they eliminate the element of surprise. ;)

Hitting someone just for disagreeing with you is wrong. But I do think that in certain situations people who deliberately annoy others for their own jollies should be legally punchable under the law. I don't like the fact that our laws protect people who follow others around acting annoying for the hell of it. Not that this occurs frequently but we've all seen at least a few times....
