Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Speaking Thursday, President Obama described the measure as "odious." He said that while people may disagree about gay marriage, it is "unconscionable" to target gays and lesbians in a dehumanizing way.

Mr. Obama made the remarks during a prayer breakfast in Washington hosted by an evangelical group known as "The Family." Ugandan politician David Bahati, who activists say is a member of The Family, proposed the controversial legislation.

"The Family"

Fellowship leader Doug Coe is described as preaching a leadership model, and a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, comparable to the blind devotion that Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao, and Pol Pot demanded from their followers.

ZH - The most unlikely candidate to stand up for the little guy's rights. Oh I forgot, it's actually just the usual stand against religion. Oh wait, a prayer breakfast at the white house? The outrage, right ZH?

Oh wait, a prayer breakfast at the white house? The outrage, right ZH?

The group behind the prayer breakfast is a fanatical religious organization which has the goal of imposing Christian theocracy in America and elsewhere. The Ugandan gay execution bill is a piece of their handiwork. If their hard on for religious despotism isn't a cause for outrage, I don't know what is.

Obama stood up against it as he should have. Thank goodness someone is standing up for decency, most of those 'christian' men sure won't.

Actually that prayer breakfast should be challenged. I'd don't believe it is legal.

Is it funded by public $$? If not then it's perfectly legal. Even if the ideals they work for are on par with those of the final solution. That the pres attended their lil tea party shows he went there with the intent to scold them. In that case I applaud him. One of my favorite moments in the show "the west wing" was when pres Bartlett (a deeply religious and well educated man ripped a Laura slussinger lookalike a new one for this same kind of assinine and narrow interpretation of the bible.

Good scene.

Martin Sheen ripping into "Dr." Jenna Jacobs aka "Dr." Laura was one of the best moments in that series.

Spud actually went out and bought all 7 seasons of WW about a week ago and has been re-watching them pretty much continually ever since.

Good show.

"The Family" are a dangerous group who exert far too much influence in DC.

Kudos to Obama here fer calling shenanigans on the Ugandan zebheads.

Be Well.

I didn't like the fact that Obama participated in this "prayer breakfast" run by cultists who have dangerous beliefs about their own rightful positions in society. However, at least he used it to denounce one of the most obvious examples of the evil these people do. They are all evil and no decent American should ever vote for any of them, regardless of party or position on issues, they hold dangerous unAmerican views and should be stamped out like a camp fire before it can burn down the forest. REad some of their views and it becomes apparent that we have terrorists in high places who aren't Muslims but who pose just as great a threat.

The most "obvious example" is the abortion industry Obama defends.

Agreed.
