Republican Carly Fiorina's campaign for U.S. Senate in California has released a bizarre three-minute campaign ad online that portrays primary rival Tom Campbell as a menacing red-eyed sheep and a "FCINO," a Fiscal Conservative in Name Only.

I don't see what is so wrong with this ad that wouldd justify the headline. It seems thig guy gets attacked very effectively and ousted as a liar.

Yeah, caught this earlier this AM.

The Demon Sheep thing is already an internet meme over at Fark.

So essentially wot yer looking at there is an attack ad gone wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong.

Not a complete loss, of course.

Carly locked up the fuzzy vote at least.

^_^

Be Well.

/The only people who can take Carly's claim of being a fiscal conservative seriously are complete and total morans.

Yaeh! You Liberals are just misogynist! You just can't believe a woman is capable of running California, which would hae the sixth largest economy in the world if it was a country.

Did a woman put that ad out? I had no idea, I was too busy laughing at it. What a stupid bitch.

You Liberals are just misogynist!

LOL.

Did the DR's resident misogynist and Lykos listener actually just say that?

Too, too funneh.

Be Well.

Hey you rotten potato, I am not a resident anything, certainly not misogynist.

Note to dipshits or all political leanings: when you try to hang an acronym on someone make sure people can say it. How in the blue hell do you pronounce FCINO?

Eff - see - eye - no? Eff - kino? Eff - see - no?
Eff - si - no?

WTF is an eff - see - eye - no?

Just ignore the f, like people ignore the p in psychologyst or pneumatics.

Or invent a new sound if ph = f, then fc can equal something else.

Or just vote for the candidate who is endorsed by the furries if you're a furry.

Oh, isn't that cute? Misogynist2586 defending womanhood. Considering Carly got fired from HP I don't know why Californians would hire her for a much bigger job.

Nullset, I doubt anyone could screw up California worse than Schwartzenegger. Anything is an improvement.

"There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore." (Washington Post, 1/2/08; Associated Press, 1/7/04)

Promoting Outsourcing, Fiorina Said the U.S. Cannot Be Distracted by Short-Term Employment Concerns.' McCain adviser Carly Fiorina said the country cannot afford to be distracted by short-term financial and employment concerns. "The biggest barrier (to solutions) is our nation's attention span," she said." (Washington Post, 1/8/04)

Carly Fiorona needs to be recognized as a corporatist who would gladly outsource any American's job except her own.

Another smart woman to piss off the Democraps. Does she have a retarded kid too?

I want to see her convince voters that outsourcing is a good thing for them with the unemployment we have today. That's going to be a tough sell especially when she starts getting hammered with ads telling voters how many jobs she sent overseas and her uncaring attitude about those she left unemployed. To me that wasn't very smart and apparently HP didn't think she was very smart either or they wouldn't have fired her.

"Another smart woman to piss off the Democraps."

Like we haven't had enough CEOs who run businesses into the ground?

I remember making big money with my HP Portfolio when she was running the show.

How about: F*CK-ifI-KNOW

Like we haven't had enough CEOs who run businesses into the ground?

Like Franklin Raines at Fannie Mae?

"Like Franklin Raines at Fannie Mae?"

What Governorship is he running for?

"I remember making big money with my HP Portfolio when she was running the show."

That will make a great bumper sticker to impress unemployed voters. Corporate leadership that made short term stock market gains the goal rather than long term developement of the products and services they sell is a big part of what is wrong with the American economy.

No shit, shame on these guys for making an honest commercial.

Yeah, Danni. Shame on her for being a top notch CEO.
Maybe if she had been a misrable failure, she'd be a Democrat.

top notch CEO

Are you sure you want to call her top-notch?

Are you sure you want to call her top-notch?

My Portfolio thought so.

"My Portfolio thought so."

Then you must have been shorting:

In April 2009, the business magazine web site Cond Nast Portfolio listed Fiorina as one of the "The 20 Worst American CEOs of all time," characterizing the HP-Compaq merger as widely regarded as a failure, and citing the halving of HP's stock value under Fiorina's tenure.

en.wikipedia.org

top notch ceo? seriously? she was fired from her job for being so top notch. the merger with compaq nearly killed hp which is the reason she was canned.

top notch? thanks for the laugh.

Your portfolio must have been betting she would drive the stock into the toilet:

When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per sharea loss of over 60% of the stock's value.

I damn nearly feel bad I made money.

Man! When will people learn????

Sheep go to heaven, goats go to hell!

www.youtube.com

I damn nearly feel bad I made money

Just because you made money doesn't mean she was a top-notch CEO. I think it's pretty safe to say she was definitely not top-notch in comparison to other CEOs.

Another smart woman to piss off the Democraps.

Who was the first? Condi "where's this America place" Rice or Sarah "I didn't quit, I just swam sideways" Palin? Or Kathleen "Look at my boobs" Harris?

What's so baaaaaaad about this ad?

This ad is amateurish and just plain weird. It says a lot more about Carly Fiorina and the campaign staff she has assembled than it does about her primary opponent. The shots of the man in the sheep costume are laugh-out-loud ridiculous. The tone of the announcer is over-the-top bitchy. It makes it seem like Fiorina is Tom Campbell's angry ex-wife, not his opponent.

I don't see what is so wrong with this ad

Did we watch the same ad?

The beginning was hilarious enough, but then they actually had a guy crawling around in a sheep costume.'

Hilarious.

I thought it was a parody at first.

Kathleen "Look at my boobs" Harris

If she wanted us to look at her boobs, why did she wear the clown make-up?

Just because you made money doesn't mean she was a top-notch CEO.

Don't you know that the world doesn't exist beyond Wis and his portfolio?

Gov. of Barney's Backside....

Palmer's a sheep snogger?

Welcome to CA, where the men are men, the women are men and the sheep run scared!

What Governorship is he running for?

She's running for Senator...

Don't you know that the world doesn't exist beyond Wis and his portfolio?

Yep, and I'll bet that eats at you like caustic drain opener.

At least she's honest enough to acknowledge Republicans are sheep.

"Don't you know that the world doesn't exist beyond Wis and his portfolio?"

Seeing the last dozen or so posts I have to wonder if it is really a portfolio of the mind. Seems his recollection of profitability doesn't coincide with reality.

Me? I've been slamming my meat in some married broad whose husband thinks he's been happily married for the past 12 years.

JPW: Why would you ever respond to a post by Wissy? It is always a mistake. Besides being a narcissistic pussy, he is also probably the whiniest, least interesting poster on the DR.

And you come off as one jealous little man.

Jealous of a miserable troll on an anonymous web forum?

Hardly.

You're rapidly moving up to the delusion levels exhibited by LR, BoOb and douchemark.

As long as his broad-brush is narrower than the state of Texas he has a leg-up on the supposed 'moderate' one.

And you're rapidly becomming as big of a whining bitch

ouch.

What's next? A I fucked your -insert female relative here- last night line?

Like I said, bitter and pathetic.

Considering you started it, and now can't take it, why not just shut up and drop it?

This commercial jumped the shark 4seconds in with "Piety." Give me a break! Sheep and piety? Are we supposed to ignore the over-Jesus wants me to win claims?

There seems to be some confusion over the term "top-notch CEO". Some measure it by the performance of the company. This misses the point. The true metric is the CEO's personal compensation. Anyone but a socialist would understand that...

Considering you started it, and now can't take it

Can't take it?

I've yet to meet a person on the DR who can insult me considering this is about as sterile an interaction that one can have.

I've never felt the need to take anyone seriously or personally.

why not just shut up and drop it?

Sure.

Awwwww, wook at how cute the wittle man is, he wants to be just like me so bad he's making up fairy tales about sleeping with my wife. It's cool, love, if I wasn't me I would envy me too.

It makes it seem like Fiorina is Tom Campbell's angry ex-wife, not his opponent.

#33 | Posted by rcade

I must have seen a different ad then. I didn't perceive the ad as you and I am very sensitive about those kinds of issues.

Fiorina may not have been the best CEO, but as I stated previously, anyone can do a better job than Arnold. And I am sure the Dem candidates are worse than Arnorld.

"There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore." (Washington Post, 1/2/08; Associated Press, 1/7/04)

What the hell is so damn scandalous about this? The economy changes and certain jobs are eliminated and new jobs are born. If this wasn't the case, we would still be using horse-drawn carriages. Of course, Liberals (especially the enviro wackos ones) want no electiricity and no cars and no running water and no toilet paper so I can understand that the idea of economy and technological progress is scandalous for them.

Another idiot who lives in a fantasy world. I make Ralph Nader sound like a Reagan republican. I'm that far left, oddly enough I have never met one of the people you are describing here. I'm guessing you are simply making shit up or reciting shit that you memorized that was puked up by someone who made the shit up.

nogov and to the left of Nader, hmmm, you must be an anarchist.

It is true that some enviro wacko suggested we no longer use toilet paper. And Al Gore did consider the chainsaw more dangerous than the atomic bomb if I am not mistaken. (And if I am you can bet I'll be corrected).

But follow the logic, if the economy remains stagnant so everyone does the same job without ever losing it, then we wouldn't have any kind of progress.

How many milkman are still around? For how long will paper boys remain employed?

#67 | Posted by member2586 at

So someone who's name you don't even know said something to you this one time and Al Gore might have said something that I can't seem to find a quote on about how there may be a more efficient way to do things than by using something that was invented in 1807 and that means that "Liberals (especially the enviro wackos ones) want no electiricity and no cars and no running water and no toilet paper"?

Danni - you rail and rail against corporations. Who would employ you if they did not exsit? Why would we have Unions if there were no corporations?

Do you think that if business did not outsource somehow the other jobs in that same business would be safe?

This is the same country that has massive inflow of migriants because there are jobs that "US residences will not do" - so do think keeping them here would change that?

Member is correct - we go through these corrections to clean out the economy and free resources to be available to growing businesses.

The issue we have is that low end manufacturing is cheaper to do elsewhere (primarily because of minumum wage and unions) and the people that do that are not being retrained to do things like computer maintenance or Router installations, or software development (which are now the lower end skill set jobs)

We also do not have schools teaching skills like welding, air conditioning repair, Plumbing and electrical skills, computerized lathe or other higher end manufacturing skills - which have a growing demand and no skilled workers.

No one can afford paying someone 75 / hr to turn the nuts on car and make money on the car.

Those days are gone.

Larry David's wife and the old bitch Cheryl Crow said people should ration toilet paper. It was a rather stupid comment. Cheryl Crow is obviously has an eating disorder

#70 | Posted by timbci at

I see no difference between being sensible about the amount of shit you waste and completely outlawing shit paper, never using electricity for anything, and outlawing cars. It's exactly the same thing. . . . .

A few thoughts:

1. The voice-over seems to be done by the same guy who did the voice-over for the anti-Obama "That's a Housing Problem!" ad (about connections to Rezko).

2. The production values are awful. Shouldn't campaigns hire smart production companies? The images of the "common people" look like they were cut out of a magazine or imported from the Internet. It would be funny if copyright violation reared its ugly head. (But hey, stealing images would be fiscally conservative. : ) )

3. What's with the sheep to begin with? Obvious sheeple reference, or something... furrier? : )

4. The material with the guy in the costume is HILARIOUS. Unintentionally? Dunno. But fuckin' funny. If this were on SNL, I'd be thinking Tina Fey must be back.

This is just bizarre. I'm tempted to conclude that Republicans have a sense of humor after all. But I dunno. Just... odd.

1. The voice-over seems to be done by the same guy who did the voice-over for the anti-Obama "That's a Housing Problem!" ad (about connections to Rezko).

Nice catch; it is.

(bowing)

"There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore." (Washington Post, 1/2/08; Associated Press, 1/7/04)

Is that why she's running for Senate? If not "G-d given," I guess "Constitutionally mandated" is the next safest bet, eh Carly?

That ad was truly weird. It's easy to attack your opponent's record when you don't have one.

Hewlett-Packard's board would have a lot to say about Fiorina. They fired her.

"For many years I felt disconnected from the decisions made in Washington and, to be honest, really didn't think my vote mattered because I didn't have a direct line of sight from my vote to a result. I realize that thinking was wrong," - Carly Fiorina on why she only recently voted the for the very first time.

"I didn't have a direct line of sight from my vote to a result"

Does this mean she couldn't see Russia (or a voting booth) from her front porch?

It's easy to attack your opponent's record when you don't have one.

Isn't that a good thing? Doesn't that make her all mavericky?

I lover the summation of her attributes at the end.

"A political outsider...perhaps a proven fiscal conservative who has accomplished enormous things in life."

Wow. I know that tidbit of info sold me and I don't even live in California.

Why doesn't she just skip the amateur ads and say "Vote for me not because I deserve it, but because the other guys sucks."

Why doesn't she just skip the amateur ads and say "Vote for me not because I deserve it, but because the other guys sucks."

It's worked in the past...

Fiorina: Vote for me. I may make it one of the few times I've ever voted in my life too!

"Danni - you rail and rail against corporations. Who would employ you if they did not exsit?"

That's your problem, you want everything black and white, simplified. I don't "rail" against corporations but I also don't think that our economy should be viewed seperately from our national best interest. It is simply not in our nation's best interest to outsource manufacturing to a country who was an avowed enemy of our country only a short time ago and who is still not really a trusted ally. WE are bankrupting our country with this foolish "free trade" and financing the growth of China who is now building a huge modern military. If you can't see what is wrong with this picture then I believe you have swallowed far too much Kool Aide.

"This ad is amateurish and just plain weird."

I think it's a funny ad....
But it's not a very GOOD ad.
And it's awfully damn long for a political ad.
It'll get people talking, but about the ad itself, not the issues or the candidates.
And will it get Carly any votes? Doubt it.

Shining Mary Poppins!
