Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, February 02, 2010

Eric Christensen, 40, has told police that when he found out his girlfriend, 35-year-old Sherry Harlan, was talking to another man, he forced her to take a Wiccan blood oath, making her promise she'd end all contact. Christensen says he found a text message from the guy on Harlan's phone shortly thereafter, a transgression that he alleges made her a "'warlock,' literally an evil traitor."

I'm not up-to-date on the whacko fringe, but I thought a warlock was a male.

The church burned witches and warlocks at the stake for hundreds of years. Maybe this guys is just trying to start a new church, so he can get a tax exemption.

One of the commenters on the story posted this and it was too good not to pass on.

You're right, but I have a feeling this guy isn't exactly up on the details attending the term "warlock."

Hey, well, if she was a warlock well then...... (snark)

Oh, absolutely. Maybe the guy has a point. Everyone knows you can't be too careful when it comes to warlocks.

Warlocks are male. I had no idea sex changes can be done via text. Damn them Wiccians are a crafty lot.

I thought warlocks are male, too. But everything I know about them comes from Bewitched, so I could be wrong.

I'm not up-to-date on the whacko fringe, but I thought a warlock was a male.

Maybe "she" was a kinky male warlock who cast a spell on his junk to make it disappear so he could seduce other men.

"Forced" her to take a Wiccan blood oath?

I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure you can't do that.

The Munchkins wanted to know if he was a good witch or a bad witch, but by now they're pretty sure he's a bad witch.

He should've been gone before someone dropped a metaphorical house on him.

What part of "harm none, do what ye will" does this guy not understand?

It's pretty much the only "rule" that's common to many "pagan" religions.

I've known sincere and devout pagans, but I've also known the kind of pagan that would be analogous to a "Christmas & Easter" or "Sunday" Christian.

They're not in it for any truly spiritual reasons, they're in it because it's "cool". Or, as in the case with many women, they're in it in order to find a spiritual life that they feel is more female-friendly.

In any case, here we have someone who's nothing less than a predator, using his religion to justify evil.

All faiths have their twisted freaks as well as their saints.
