Twelve Democratic Senators spent last weekend in Miami Beach raising money from top lobbyists for oil, drug, and other corporate interests that they often decry, according to a guest list for the event obtained by POLITICO.

SURPRISE!

Yeah, they should have just gone to Hawaii.

And we all know that Rethugs don't know any lobbyists...

Corky, I think you are not understanding what the issue is. Republicans don't always decry and whine and throw hissy fits about the lobbyists. They don't have leaders who promise to magically rid them from anything dealing with politics and then hire a hundred or so to work for him.

It is the Hippo in the room that is the problem here corky. Even if you try to turn it into some kind of new age coffee table, it is still a hippo, and it is covered with crit.

Clean your table.

. Republicans don't always decry and whine and throw hissy fits about the lobbyists.

No, they prefer taking their bribes and keeping their mouths shut. Decrying corporate funding of politicians being so terrible for the American ideal.

-kind of new age coffee table

Seriously dude, you need metaphor therapy.

You need to get rid of the blinders. Fecal matter is fecal matter, you simply prefer to handle the dark fecal matter over the light.

Stick to your side there Corky, keep saying the Democrats are justified in doing it because everyone else is doing it.

although that does not indicate change.

-Fecal matter is fecal matter, you simply prefer to handle the dark fecal matter over the light.

There may still be hope for you, even though your condition appears to be worse than first thought, possibly terminal.

Do you have a Strawman factory, or do you custom build?

Ok, is it messed up and hypocritical for the democrats to cater to lobbyists?

Is it messed up and hypocritical for the republicans to cater to lobbyists?

Are they the same here?

Who is being discussed in the article?

Why do you feel it necessary to talk about the republicans instead of the topic of the article?

A majority of Dem congresspeople would entertain and maybe even vote for either public financing of national campaigns or laws that restricted the current bribery.

The Repubs? Not so much. They have a stacked SC giving more of America to big corporate money, and have historically been by far the largest takers of such money.

So, if you don't mind, and particularly if you do, I'll point out that it is hypocritical to point at only Dem fundraising while they are progressive about changing law, and Repubs continue to consider bribery as a form of American moral values.

I admit that Republicans are scum, I also admit that democrats are just as much scum, one group h ides it better than another, that is the only difference.

They use words like "liberal" "progressive" "Conservative" "Independent" "Tea Party" "Moderate" to cover up what they are.

I have no bias, I just like to speak to the article, not about the opposition to the article. You seem to consistently go away from the article first when it deals with democrats.

You also did not answer all my questions.

Bush's fault. He told the 12 there was a special on pork loins in Miami.

-one group h ides it better than another, that is the only difference.

No, once again, Dems may be a franchise operation, but Rethugs are, historically, a wholly-owned corporate subsidiary.

btw, I'm not here to answer self-serving, barely lucid questions from people who try to insulate themselves from reality by saying, "a pox on all their houses".

People who are major purchasers of hemorrhoidal supplies due to all their fence-sitting-while stone-throwing are worse than extremists of either party, as they are certainly cowards, and probably not bright enough to be the least bit ashamed of it.

And we all know that Rethugs don't know any lobbyists...

Who said Republicans don't have lobbyists? Do you want your politicians spending weekends at events where lobbyists pay $30K to get in the door, or not? Simple question Dorky - answer it.

Oh wait, I remember - Dorky isn't deflecting, he's just providing some "context" or "historical background." Right Dorky?

Here's some historical background. Corky's been making excuses for President Dumbo since last November.

Anyone who has read me for all these years wouldn't have to ask such an asinine question... unless that were just their modus operandi, you know, ask a stupid question, then pettifog the answer to death.

Corky you seem to be sitting on the fence at the moment. I am not sure why you said that to me.

I'll answer any questions you would ask about this subject. I don't have any concerns about it. Asking questions is how you get answers and understanding. I see you seem not to be interested in that.

Anyone who has read me for all these years wouldn't have to ask such an asinine question

If the answer is "no, I don't want my politicians spending the weekend with lobbyists who have to pay $30K to get in the door," then your commentary in the thread should reflect that. If your answer is "I'm okay with that conduct because these senators are Democrats," then your commentary in this thread makes more sense. Which is it?

Corky, he's not really the "Chosen One" and doesn't have the power to condem you to eternal damnation, regardless of what Axlerod says....

You most likely will not get an answer. It seems corky does not like to speak against his devoted side, and therefore shakes answers in disingenuous shade of gray.

If I'm remembering Corky's previously stated position on this, he's argued with me that while he has less than no love for the role lobbyists play in our government and he'd support legislation to reduce that role as much as possible, he knows that until there is bipartisan legislative ambition to do so, this is the way the game is played.

Of course I'm not in the habit of speaking for other people and Corky can certainly correct me if I'm wrong.

Change? Guess the SOTU speech was just another notch on Obammys bed post. Fool libtards once - you can fool them all the time.

This is true for republicans and democrats who have no idea of what this country needs. If you can get them to believe you once, they will often believe you for life no matter what you say or do.

"Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's Winter Retreat"

Collecting bribes has to be more than The Republican Winter Retreat, where all they got was a stern lecture from Obama

A majority of Dem congresspeople would entertain and maybe even vote for either public financing of national campaigns ....

Yes, we all know how anxious Democrats are to stick their faces, once again, into the public trough. The money of productive people is never quite enough.

Wow. Corky's having to do some heavy lifting today. Nice work!
