"Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito didn't like hearing President Barack Obama publicly criticize the high court's ruling removing corporate campaign spending limits and he didn't try to hide it."
I think this is misleading. I don't think Alito was bothered by the criticism itself. I think he was taken aback by the way the president characterized the fallout from the CU v. FEC decision, and visibly disagreed.
And verbally disagreed, if you were sitting REALLY close to him. On the other hand, Sotomayor WAS sitting really close to him, and showed no reaction to Alito whatsoever. For all we know, he whispered it. Had it been very audible at all, Sotomayor would have at least glanced in his direction.
People seem so desperate to make this out to be another Joe Wilson-type event, and it simply isn't.
Wilson made himself look like a dolt on national tv, in an attempt to puff himself up. Sure, he scored points with his choir, but they were going to vote for him anyway.
Alito had an honest disagreement, and reacted in the moment. A visible, but very tiny, moment.
And, Danni, gotta tell ya, you're not doing yourself or anyone else any favors with that. Whatever it is you're shooting for, you are really missing the mark.
Leave that kind of crap to El Cid.
