Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

International Holocaust Remembrance Day has passed, the speeches will soon be forgotten, and the depressing everyday reality will remain. Israel will not come out looking good, even after the PR campaign.

On the eve of his departure, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at Yad Vashem. "There is evil in the world," he said. "Evil must be stamped out at the beginning." Some people are "trying to deny the truth." Lofty words, said by the same person who only the day before, not quite in the same breath, uttered very different words, words of true evil, evil that should be extinguished at the start, evil that Israel is trying to hide.

They are still milking it for all it's worth. Same happens here with slavery. There are many guilty white Liberals who believe they should suffer for the sins of whites generations ago. We can never go forward as long as this keeps happening.

I agree on the milking thing, but in all fairness, I have to play devil's advocate: Your analogy isn't valid. There are still Jews alive with tattoos on their arms. OTOH, I doubt if there is anyone alive today whose great grandparent was a slave.

"We can never go forward as long as this keeps happening."

which i agree with you on...

"I doubt if there is anyone alive today whose great grandparent was a slave."

but there are grandparents alive who were segregated and jim crowed.

ww2 ended 65 years ago.
civil rights was approximately 45 year ago.

i suggest reading the article by the way.

True. I can remember as a kid seeing different bathrooms and drinking fountains for blacks and whites. The swimming pool we used to go to didn't allow blacks. The blacks lived on one side of town and had their own school even though the town had only 3,000 people and wasn't much larger than a couple of square miles.

Calm down, kliff. My #2 was addressing member's #1 which specifically said slavery. You are right about the dates on civil rights, of course.

goat... but i don't think that is an excuse for today's black youth.

i'm sure you agree.

i suggest reading the article by the way.

I did

goat :) i'm calm... don't worry. i'm not arguing with you.

but i don't think that is an excuse for today's black youth.

(I could take that literally and make a joke, but I know what you meant. lol)

I agree it is not an excuse for them to demand more from society than anyone else gets, but their demands for equality are sound and valid. Also their demands for enforcement of equal rights are sound as well -- as long as such enforcement doesn't infringe on other people's rights.

I doubt if there is anyone alive today whose great grandparent was a slave.

There are definitely people alive today whose grandparents were slaves. My grandmother is 86 and her grandfather was born in 1834.

The last known slave, Eliza Moore, died in 1948 at age 105. If a child slave became a parent in his or her 30s and they did the same, those people would be in their 80s.

They are still milking it for all it's worth. Same happens here with slavery. There are many guilty white Liberals who believe they should suffer for the sins of whites generations ago. We can never go forward as long as this keeps happening.

"There are many guilty white Liberals who believe they should suffer for the sins of whites generations ago"
