Rep. Joe Wilson, the South Carolina Republican congressman who called President Obama a liar during the president's last speech before Congress
It was rude, but it was also truth!

Yell at that piece of shit all you want, he's a little girlie-boy that needs his ass beat for what he and his cohorts did to America. Rude is what the worthless marxists did to George W. Bush for 8 years, the lies, spin, undermining his presidency and America, fuck them.
And don't believe all this giethner horse shit, the marxists know they have shown their evil hand and America is getting ready to throw this bunch into the shitpile of history where it belongs. They are all playing conserned about America now, the damage has been done to America's economy, they will all scavage the 797 billion slush fund, retirement that the dunce and thief created for them, it's time to lock them up, strip their personal wealth to pay back America, worthless, shameless, corrupt lying hacks.

It also agrees with Wilson...

The president repeated his promise that his plan won't add "one dime" to the federal deficit. But legislation offered so far would add hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Obama said his plan won't "require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have." It's true that there's no requirement, but experts say the legislation could induce employers to switch coverage for millions of workers

Joe knows the speech will be much more to his likely tonight as obama must concede the populist outcries.

What is the point of watching the fucking speech then? I hope it is uneventful because I don't plan to watch it. I would really get pissed off I don't watch it and someone else (other than Joe Wilson) starts yelling stuff at the president, maybe an angry Liberal telling Obama he is too Conservative. That would be rich!

"but experts say the legislation could induce employers to switch coverage for millions of workers"

Induce is a tad difference from require.

He'll be teabagging and his mouth will be full.

My, my, thsis obsession with teabagging. Why don't you follow Tiger Woods' example and check into a sex addcit's clinic? You really have a problem, or many.

Wilson will simply give him the finger instead.

Or maybe he'll fart very loudly.

It was rude, but it was also truth!

Half right.

It was rude and it was a lie.

Induce is a tad difference from require.

Rtards are allergic to nuance.

See also: Reality.

Be Well.

My, my, thsis obsession with teabagging.

You are right. I once noted a couple of months ago that he uses that term far, far more frequently than anyone else on the DR. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

"It was rude and it was a lie."

Which is why Baucus amended the bill right after his speech?

"but experts say the legislation could induce employers to switch coverage for millions of workers"

but employers say....if the cost keeps rising they will have to just drop insurance all together. My company has changed insurance several times in the last few years.

"My, my, this obsession with teabagging."

Maybe it translates differently in French-Canadien?

Joe Wilson is absolutely right. One should wait for Obama to stop speaking before calling him a blind fucking shit-faced liar. As long as it gets said.

What you say is true, 101Chairborne, as far as it goes.

However, you missed the key point (from the link above):

"Obama said that his proposal would not cover illegal immigrants, a remark that prompted Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina to shout "You lie!"

Obama: There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

The president is correct: The House bill contains a section (Sec. 246) titled "NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS," which states: "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."

As such, Rep. Wilson was incorrect (and rude) for shouting "You lie!".

It also agrees with Wilson...

LOL!

Obama doesn't want to insure illegal immigrants while they're under an illegal status. He just wants to make them all legal first, citizens of the U.S., and entitled to health care.

Some of you guys sound so hillariously insane.

Hahahahahah

Rightnut LOL

Is it the position of lefties here that Obama isn't a liar? Or just that he didn't happen to lie during the healthcare speech where he was accused of being one?

#18 | Posted by TrueBlue at 2010-01-27 05:25 PM | Reply

I could be wrong, but didn't the bill (before Baucus amended it) not have any provisions of enforcing who qualifies? Kind of like doing 100 down the freeway, which is illegal, but only if a cop catches you?

Not exactly. One could (justifiably/fairly) argue that there weren't enough provisions for enforcement, but then again, how much is enough?

I think a better analogy would be to say it's not fair to call cops "liars" when they say it's illegal to speed just because they aren't able to catch EVERY speeder.

"I am a gentleman," he said.

A gentleman doesn't yell at the president of the United States during a joint address to Congress. I believe the word Wilson was looking for was asshole.

another south carolina no class ass

#25. Agreed. He's the fucking president for christ sake whether you like him or not.

#24 | Posted by TrueBlue at 2010-01-27 05:55 PM

You lie!!! lol

Democrats had pointed to provisions in House and Senate legislation that prohibited illegal immigrants from getting federal subsidies that would be offered to lower-income Americans to help them buy insurance.

That didn't go far enough for Wilson or many other Republicans, who noted the absence of any enforcement mechanism or requirement for verification of legal status.
www.huffingtonpost.com

what does that have to do with the ass hole behaving like a low class turd?

The messiah does lie. Often contradicts himself in the same sentence. Even CNN ran an article attesting to that fact.

Here's one of many......Was it a broken promise or a lie to tell us all HC mechanics would be on CSPAN, then refuse to do so?

Re: #28 | Posted by crispee_oc at 2010-01-27 06:07 PM

Good one LOL!

Of course, for THAT to be true then one would have to argue that NO enforcement against illegal immigration currently exists. Granted the current enforcement situation is probably woefully inadequate (and this legislation did little/nothing to expand provisions for enforcement), but the legislation does explicitly state that it is illegal. BTW, provision to expand enforcement is a budgetary matter (and as such a part of the Ways & Means Committee), where in this case, an attempt to provide that expanded enmforcement has turned down.

Bottom line: to claim that the legislation did not state/make it illegal for illegal aliens was a lie.

Joe Wilson is an embarrassment to American Democracy. He should have been censured after last year's outburst. It speaks volumes about certain posters on the DR that they actually approve of his behavior.

"I am a gentleman. My natural inclination is to be on my best behavior," he said. "I have the highest respect for the president, and I certainly look forward to the speech."

LIAR!

/Yes, obligatory.

Be Well.

" It speaks volumes about certain posters on the DR that they actually approve of his behavior."

If that was behavior, I would hate to see Wilson engage in an outburst.

The funny thing about last year's state if the union was that Joe honestly couldn'tly have known what 2009 would actually bring. Obamma had yet to actually do the job ( for better or worse) so his outburst was purely speculative. If he were to yell at the prez this year he would actually have a foot to stand on. Things promised by the canidate and ignored by the man once in office.

hmmmm....I seem to recall a certain State of the Union where the liar in chief told us, "Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

I can see why some people would be a little touchy about presidents telling lies.

Is that kinda like "I did not have sex with that woman!!!" LOL Clinton was the liar in chief

Is that kinda like "I did not have sex with that woman!!!"

Sorta. The difference being when Bill Clinton lied, it was only to hide the deaths of thousands of potential Americans; not fight a war where thousands of actual Americans would die on false pretenses.

But that's a great analogy though. Stick with that.

btw. I watched the state of the union last night and, much to my disappointment, no one yelled at the president and the republicans seemed to have a stick up their ass, even with Obama threw them a bone.

I do think Nancy Pelosi has a sever case of swamp ass. She stood up after ever word the president said. At first, I figured she was just a little overzealous with the support of the President. Then I realized that she just had butt sweat.

And Joe was probably a little tipsy and didn't realize he didn't have to stand up.

I think they had a cartoon in the back of Obama's head too and Joe kept putting the channel on Cartoon network. Only way to explain the giggle fits, really.

I tevoed it. It's playing in ff right now. All they do is clap and stand up, over and over.

That's what happens every SOTU address.

Only way to explain the giggle fits, really.

Joe was just happy to be allowed out in public again.

The whining and sniffling coming from the Twenty-Six Percenters here, combined with the narcoleptic behavior of the Party of No during last night's State of the Union address, appears to indicate that even they sense it's only 1088 days 5 hours 54 minutes and 42 seconds until Obama's second inauguration. I'll bet you buffoons can hardly wait.

Doc is suffering from dementia. The 26 percenters are the dumbasses who are still giving Obama strong support, and it was Harry Reid and the octogenarian Democratic caucus who couldn't stay awake.

At least Wilson would have made the most boring two hours of television a little more exciting. Poor Reid didn't even get that last night. Neither did America.

Maybe we should just adjust this 'State of the Union' format a little... let the Prez do his speech, then allow an open 'Question and Answer' session...each side of the aisle given 3-5 questions to pose to the Prez... the members from each side decided beforehand, but the questions not published to anyone..!!! this would give the electorate a 'real transparency' of communication between the Prez and Congress... and, also give the electorate a chance to see how much the Prez really knows on a subject...

DrSoul, I'm all for that.

But only if Michelle Bachman is allowed to ask the first question for the Republicans. She's got a "im nuts in the sack" look about her.

It was rude and it was a lie.

Is that why Wilson's campaign increased by some 1000%? $1,000,000 over a couple of days? $2,900,000 to date.

Just for being brave enough to what most believe, is the truth...

Obama Lies.

It doesn't matter what he was saying at the time, the truth is thruth.

The more you try and split hairs, but more money is contributed to Republicans...

He was probably among the many who chuckled at him instead when he made certain ridiculously transparent comments (i.e. the spending freeze starts next year, other incredulous partisan blame-game statements).

D'Ohbama...pick on the Supreme Court and lie about what the ruling was?

Doesn't he have anyone fact check his speech before they put it on the teleprompter?

deaths of thousands of potential Americans

very interesting way to say... "sperm on a dress".

You would think the pro-lifers would be all up in arms about the fact that those "potential Americans" rights were violated when they were not deposited in the correct orifice so they would have an equal chance instead of the "lie". But anything that will damage the other party and make the look good right?

Every day is election day in America.

Joe Wilson is a prime example of this as this statement points out.

"Is that why Wilson's campaign increased by some 1000%? $1,000,000 over a couple of days? $2,900,000 to date."

Joe did not make money for speaking truth to power. But by making a spectacle of himself and becoming a poster boy for the teabaggers.

Of course, this blogger also did not mention how much money went into the coffers of Democrat Rob Miller because of Joe Wilson's calculated outburst. (Yes, I said calculated).

Joe may have made more money total but he paid a huge price for that money. Democrat Rob Miller made a whole crapload of money too but did nothing but just be there to collect the windfall.

D'Ohbama...pick on the Supreme Court and lie about what the ruling was?

Care to be more specific as to what the lie was? I think he was quite professional and respectful as the head of one branch of power speaking directly to another branch of power and was expressing his legitimate concerns with what the results of this ruling will be.

Tighties sure love to throw that LIE word around without any real FACTS to back it up don't they?

Seriously--can any of you libtards remember, without looking it up, one single thing that was in last year's SOTU?

Nada. At least Wilson made it an interesting night. This year's snoozefest didn't even have that going for it.

RiR

Wilson's asshole outburst wasn't during the SOTU address. It was a speech on health care.

Now that the performance is over is it OK to call Obama a lying sack of shit?

RiR

If you were bored you could always have replayed Bush's "looming mushroom cloud/yellowcake (already disproved by the guy the WH sent to find out).." speech.

RiR's confusing the health care speech before a joint session of Congress with a SOTU address.

I think I'll go into the DVD biz selling Bush's SOTU addresses. It would provide necessary recollections to snarky right wingers of how much BS Bush said to get us into wars and a whole plethora of harmful things...

Wow Eberly resorts to using the Huff to support his retort?

amazing but if you are going to go with the Huffington report over Wiki ok that is fair. Just do it from now on please and not just this once. maybe we are both right?

It was my impression that it was not a SOTU speech. Bush gave the last official SOTU speech according to wiki.

en.wikipedia.org

United States President Barack Obama delivered a speech to a joint session of the 111th United States Congress on February 24, 2009.[1] It was not an official State of the Union address.[2] Obama's first State of the Union Address was the 2010 State of the Union Address. The speech was delivered on the floor of the chamber of the United States House of Representatives in the United States Capitol. Presiding over this joint session was the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. Accompanying the Speaker of the House was the President of the United States Senate, Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States.

You libbies just make up your own reality as you go along.

Actually, I can't blame you for not remembering it. Ever since his Sermon on the Mount in Denver, nobody can remember anything he says. It takes a Republican lawmaker shouting out "you lie" or a Supreme Court justice mouthing the words "not true" to make any of his appearances even remotely interesting.

RiR

It was you who asserted Wilson yelled at the SOTU address, not someone else. Never would have come up if you hadn't.

Thomas Jefferson almosy got into a fist fight at the First Continental Congress. I guess he was an embarassment too

Oh. So I was mistaken that Obama was called out for lying during one forgettable speech, when it was actually another. And that prompted libbies to tell us that 2010 was Obama's first SOTU.

But whatever. Come next January, when nobody will remember anything from the snoozefest last night, they'll think that 2011 was his first, and change the text over at WhiteHouse.gov accordingly.

Remember that, DR?

Remember the drone aircraft that would attack our coasts? Remember the "mushroom cloud"? Remember the stockpiles of WMD? Remember the Iraq- al Qaeda connection?

But that was just a war.

What's really important is that NEVER, under any considered health care bill, were illegal residents eligible for gov't subsidy, you stupid motherfucker.

Joe Wilson is the only MAN in the house who would stand up and tell the entire world the truth, that OBAMA WAS LYING

So you allege without a shred of evidence.

Here's what a certified lying President says:

1999

Then Gov. BUSH: "I think it's also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn."

2000

BUSH: "...we will not enter into a war without an exit strategy..."

2005 (backpedaling George W Bush)

"It doesn't make any sense to have a timetable (exit strategy).

2000:

"I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building." (which became the 'new' reason AFTER we invaded and didn't find WMD's)

....I don't want to be the world's policeman, I want to be the world's peacemaker ." - October 3, 2000

2002"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction" - (although there were GRAVE doubts in the international and domestic intel community, conveniently cast aside).

2002

Wolfowitz: Wars will cost $50 billion; It is the Bush administration's best description of the conflicts' price tags. (the $2 TRILLION we spent was due to not having Bush's own "CLEAR EXIT STRATEGY".

Nov. 15: "Rumsfeld insists that the forthcoming Iraq War will last "five days or five weeks or five months, but it certainly isn't going to last any longer than that..."

(Former Dick Cheney stated, "Iraq would become a quagmire" if we invaded in 1991 with 500K troops, so 150K would have a different outcome?).

www.youtube.com - VIDEO

2003

Jan. 28: "In his State of the Union address, Bush warns that Iraq had sought to purchase yellowcake uranium from Niger, though his administration was told beforehand that the assertion was incorrect."

2004

BUSH: "I remember sitting in the White House, looking at those generals, saying, "Do you have what you need in this war? Do you have what it takes?"

Eric Shinseki, Army Chief of Staff, testified publicly before Congress we needed 500,000 minimum and told Bush privately the same thing.

Should this be continued? 2 trillion dollars and 4000 American lives later? As Native Americans say, "He speaks with forked tongue".

From the Buffalo Beast:

44. Joe Wilson

Charges: A former member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Wilson was one of only seven legislators who fought to keep ol’ Dixie flying in South Carolina. When his former employer, legendary segregationist Strom Thurmond, was revealed to be the father of his black maid’s daughter, Wilson said that she should have kept her trap shut. He’s pals with the Federation for American Immigration Reform, founded by a white nationalist and classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Every president lies, of course, but we have a feeling there’s only one kind of president this cracker would disrespect enough to shout it at him in the middle of an address to both houses of congress—for the same reason he became a fundraising star for the GOP overnight.
Exhibit A: “You lie!”
Sentence: After the Nuclear-Alien-Cyborg Wars of 2065, the only record left of Wilson’s red-faced accusation is one lonely Smithsonian photo with a charred and illegible caption, which future historians translate as “Pull my finger!”

Really last time I checked emergency rooms in you local hospital are a pretty big gov't subsidy.
