Fox is the most trusted television news network in the country, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Trusted 20% more than any other network.
Nationwide survey? Even in the blue states? Huh.

PPP tends to be a little blue...

Only 1100 people?

dont know about trusted but watched???

not even close...sometimes the number isnt just more than others combined but TWICE the amount of others combined.
what does that mean??

there are more people watching it than just the people that radical leftists here will chracacterize when this thread gets going

I wonder what will happen to MSNBC now that Comcast is taking over. You think they will continue to employ people who get worse ratings every year

Just goes to show how fucking stupid the general public is.

Exactly. They elected the Chocoalte Jesus, didn't they?

"A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news," said PPP President Dean Debnam in his analysis of the poll. "But the media landscape has really changed, and now they're turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear."

That Sensationalism is more Entertaining than Educating yourself.

It figures that the Most Trusted Network is the very same Network that Sued for the Right to Mislead its audience.

For me this is the final straw. Im absolutely convinced that most Americans are worse than retarded, and that they deserve the Fleecing they get and have got coming in the future.

The TV news channel that most obviously distorts the new to the point of just making shiat up is allegedly the most trusted?

LOL.

And you thought folks was telling "Dumb American" jokes before?

Seriously, even the Russians back in the seventies were able to pick up a copy of Pravda and know it was propaganda. Half of America at the turn of the century? Not so much apparently.

That's farking hilarious.

Maybe a little sad.

Be Well.

Dean Debnam is a Democratic pollster and regular campaign donor. The chief executive officer of Workplace Options, he started Public Policy Polling, a Raleigh-based political research firm, in 2002 as a side business. The company uses automated dialers for polling, message testing for candidates and advocacy, such as a recent effort urging higher impact fees in Raleigh. Clients have included Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker, City Councilman Thomas Crowder and the Conservation Council of North Carolina. Respondents are found using voter rolls which are weighted to represent typical turnout. His wife, Stephanie Fanjul, ran for mayor in 1999.

I don't like what you say or believe so you must be stupid.
Priceless.

Same comment applies as made on Air America:

I have a hard time believing that they would buy something with ratings in the tank and not do something to fix that.
for instance..ed shultz should be fired ON THE SPOT for comments he has now even said about another liberal...
and olberman..please....you dont need to even ask.

Just goes to show how fucking stupid the general public is.

SEE WHAT I MEAN......hee hee

Has anyone looked at the actual PPP report?

www.publicpolicypolling.com

It's an interesting read, especially the breakdown by R-D-I (Republican-Democrat-
Independent).

Among D & I: FN is LAST; among R: FN is FIRST.

Another tidibit from PPP's report:
"A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most
neutral and unbiased conveyors of news," said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy
Polling. "But the media landscape has really changed and now they're turning more
toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear."

Celebrate what you want to...

Of course, you read the link to the PPP report (specifically, pages 8 and 9).

In answer to the question: "Do you trust___",

The ranking for Republicans is:
1.FOX
2.CNN
3.ABC
4.CBS
5.NBC

The ranking for Democrats + Independents is:
1.CNN
2.NBC
3.CBS
4.ABC
5.FOX

A side interesting note: CNN ranks #1 or #2 with all groups.

Oh, and it's prince.
You may kiss my...

Apparently the illiteracy rate among registered voters is moving up again.

As long as Spongebob Squarepants RERUNS are more popular than EVERY SINGLE CLUSTERFOX show, these fools have nothing to crow about.

Cable news is a babysitter substitute for losers that sit alone in their basements polishing their guns and occasionally sticking their heads out the window and yelling at the kids to get off their lawn.

...sit alone in their basements polishing their guns and occasionally sticking their heads out the window...

???

Basements have windows?

"Basements have windows?"

Sometimes.
Little windows high up the wall.

I'm up on a hill.
Better to see the pigs.

You think I have varmints?

Maybe a daylight basement.

Folks around Austin would know about them. Probably not so much around Dallas.

My little stalker has never been in a house. His double-wide doesn't have a basement so he hasn't a clue. As usual.

Little windows high up the wall.

Now that you mention it, I think I've seen that in the movies.

Maybe a daylight basement.

Is that what zat described? If not, what is a daylight basement?

No.

Think pier and beam with little windows around at ground level.

I have no clue what he's describing unless it's something you'd build on a hillside.

Hillside house, generally appearing to be one story at the front and two story at the back.

Pacific Northwest, they built two storys with the main floor up and the "basement" down, but still all above ground. Called the split levels, I never thought it made any sense.

"them" split...

In other parts of the country they're called walk out basements.

Ted,

In Michigan they are called bi-levels and they are next to impossible to sell when it comes time to move. They are even harder to sell than tri/quad-levels, and that's saying something (I know firsthand).

In other parts of the country they're called walk out basements.

In Michigan, a walk-out basement denotes a house built on a slope as you referenced above.

A bi-level doesn't technically have a basement, just a slab.

Split level. I see. My house in Georgia was a split level. I know that term.

oops wrong URL. This was our "split level". Could drive into one side, but the other end was underground

"Exactly. They elected the Chocoalte Jesus, didn't they?"

yup

Me too! We lived in a bi-level out in Saginaw Township from 1975-1980, until we moved to SoCal. It took use nearly a year to sell the house and while we technically didn't lose money of the deal, it did cause a lot of pain and sleepless nights when you're paying rent in one state and still paying a mortgage in another. Bi-levels also can be problematic since you're in essence living in the 'basement' (in our case the kitchen, family room, utility room and master bedroom were downstairs and the living/dining room and 3 bedrooms where upstairs) and if you ever lose power during a rainstorm and/or your sump-pump dies, you wake up in the morning to 6 inches of water in your house (it happened to us twice in 5 years). Also, while we were living there, my wife decided to buy a used piano and when we tried to get it into the house, when you come in the front door you have to either CARRY IT UP or DOWN a half-flight of stairs, as you have no choice in the matter. We carried it UP the stairs (see previous comment about sump-pumps ;-)

Now we did have a nice patio out the back that terraced up to grade-level with an overhang and built-in fountain and lots of room on the various levels for flowers and such, although in the winter time it tended to fill with snow and ice which just presented another opportunity for wet floors when the spring thaw would start.

Of course living is SoCal, no one has basements (at least not anything built since earthquake codes went into effect) and while there are times where they might have been nice, you do avoid a whole class of problems. Of course that does mean that at least one of your cars will have to be parked in the driveway as you have to have SOMEPLACE to put your junk or the stuff your kids decide to 'store' when they're forced to move into a smaller apartment or their marriage collapses.

Kliff,

That's St. Raygun...
