Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The USA is scientifically the most advanced country with its people spending proportionately the least amount of their incomes on food supply. Yet, the incidence of food-borne disease is the highest anywhere on earth. The source of FBD during the last 50 years is reported to originate from indiscriminate use of hormones, antibiotics, slaughterhouse wastes, Genetically Modified Organisms and pesticides in food production. None of the five substances is proved to be safe as required under the Food and Drugs Act of either U.S. or Canada. The first three are unequivocally banned in food production throughout the EU countries causing U.S. and Canadian beef to not be imported into EU countries. However, regulatory authorities for both argue that the substances pose no risk to human health.

Thank you corporate farming.

Thank you corporate farming.

You should thank them for providing enough affordable food to feed this planet. Without corporate farming, millions, probabliy billions would die of starvation. Then this food borne disease thingy you snarkingly refer to wouldn't matter.

Some people can't see the forest for the trees.

The types of FBD that these substances induce include cancer, antibiotic-resistant infections, neurological conditions, including BSE/CJD, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and immune, reproductive and other disorders.

Oh yes, thank you thank you very much corporations!

Stop being a corporate tool

Stop being a corporate tool

???

I could give a shit less about the corporations. My statement was based on fact. Dispute it if can. Calling me a tool isn't much of a rebuttal, but when you got nothin' you gotta fall back on "you're a tool!", right?

The Green Revolution made great headway in feeding the masses, so Goatman has a point. But, just because we can feed more people doesn't mean that we should ignore quality, safety, and flavor. Now is the time to marry the technical advancements of the green revolution to the quality improvements of the local and slow food movements. Then maybe no one will ever have to eat a pink, mealy, grocery store tomato again.

I've yet to see a good tomato from anywhere other than a private garden.

Shiv Chopra again?

LOL man you really will believe anyone who sounds like they agree with you.

Of course there's no source for this statement beyond his own word. Many of these are probably nothing more than correlations and are not in any way causative. Cancer, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases in particular are more than likely due to the poor nutritional value of our average diet and extremely low level of exercise.

Oh yes, thank you thank you very much corporations!

Stop being a corporate tool

Stop being such a gullible tool and believing everything you read.

And despite the fact that there is some problems with FBD, Goatman's statement is absolutely true. The large scale production of food has greatly enhanced many people's lives.

If they would allow us to irradiate foods, a lot of this would end. But the paranoid left has a hissy fit over the issue.

Once again the shallow reply of gullibility, no sources, conceding once again no ability to dispute the findings. How is it in your world of shilldom irrelevance where you must
sell a bridge to nowhere?

No sources. LOL if only you'd hold the same standard for your beloved Dr. Shiv here.

It's hard to dispute the "findings" (we can't even call them that since he doesn't actually say where he's getting his info from) when they are pulled directly from his ass.

How is it in your world of shilldom irrelevance where you must sell a bridge to nowhere?

LOL reliving your perceived past glories. Damn you're pathetic.

You got your ass kicked all over that thread, you're just too stupid to know it.

Tell me, LR, why do you believe Shiv? What exactly is it about him that makes you so willingly a follower while you demand more stringent criteria and behavior from others?
