It would need to be pretty big, and you'd have to shove it in pretty deep. Probably bigger and deeper than anything humans can muster.

I don't have any numbers to back me up, but I suspect that all the nuclear bombs in the world don't add up to the power of Yellowstone when it blows. The magma under Yellowstone is formed from granite. It is highly viscous compared to the thinner iron and iron/silicon magmas. So it takes that much more pressure to make it blow. Earth would be covered in dust, not to mention many years of weak sunlight.

Do that and the whole thing will blow. If I recall correctly a caldera volcano erupts when the pressure is released due to the gases in the liquid magma.
