These days, the best liberal radio -- such as Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartman and Alan Colmes -- wasn't coming from Air America.

My fondest memory was when I was driving along in Chicago and I tuned into AA for some entertainment. I am not sure who the tool was but he was railing against the latest gun legislation, he was reading off the list of Senators who voted for it and he was unprepared for the name of Russ Feingold. He was blown away by how this liberal senator could vote for this legislation, he was crying about how he "knew Feingold so well" and how could he do this, he went on and on...

I was laughing my ass off so I decided to call in, never in a million years did I think I would get through, but they picked up on like the second ring, a desperate sounding producer asked me what my position was and I said I wanted to talk about Russ's vote, I was put on hold for less than a minute and was connected.

I think he expected me to agree with him, but the first thing I said is that he knew nothing about him, I have known Russ and been pheasant hunting with him on many occasions, and even though we are politically miles apart, we respect each other (though he wouldn't go hunting with me for awhile after McCain-Feingold, he knew I was that pissed).

I admire and have even voted for him on one occasion as he is one of the best defenders of the constitution out there (not including M-F). Of course the host hung up on me, god help him if he was caught in his own bullshit.

I also do not listen to any of the other tools, left or right, out there, but I will tune into Boortz if I am in an area that carries him.

Give Danni a break about this, I know she can defend herself, but even if her ideas may be twisted, I respect her position and she can state her positions better than most. OK Danni, you have to be nice to me now.

Totally agree, and I will add some more insight. The market for Liberal Media is saturated, so when you divide the sponsors and the viewers amongst all the outlets there isn't enough to support something like Air America.

Apparently they have 200 people employed--who do what exactly? And that is not including the sales staff.

Rush says he does his 3 hour program with 10 employees. Sales staff not included.

There are liberal voices and they are heard where there is a market.

And even the obvious markets did not support AA.

A commentary on free-market and populism. Repub radio had already made great headway well before the economic crisis. When the economy tanked then Obama came in and made matters worse, Soros, Carlyle and other top leftist financiers knew there was no market for pure leftist populism talk, therefore did not throw good money after bad money.

All of this has nothing to do with what is correct philosophy. When current populism shifts again once just as corrupt Repubs retake govt and once again the policies are even WORSE for privacy, civil liberties and private property ownership, there will once again become a market for the Air America business model.
