A new CBS News poll finds that a large majority of Americans say they do not want former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to run for president. Specifically, 71 percent say they do not want the former Republican vice presidential nominee to run for president, while 21 percent say they do want her to run. A majority of Republicans, 56 percent, don't want her to run while 30 percent do.

It appears that St Sarah, the Tea Party Queen, has lost some of her bloom.

Another Palin thread? What's the matter with you you people? *Wink*winky*winkety*winkety*
~Sistah Sarah "I Quit - But Pay Me Some Real Moolah & I'll Stick Around So's The Marks Can Erectify Themselves" Palin

I'm in the 12% dem minority here. I would love, love, love to see Saint Sarah run as a Republican for 2012.

In fact, I believe the proper way to refer to her is: "The Presumptive Republican nominee for Pres in 2012".

In fact, I believe the proper way to refer to her is: "The Presumptive Republican nominee for Pres in 2012".

Has a nice ring.

Poll: 71% don't think Paling can calculated what 71% is.

Run Baby, RUN!!!

(or was that Quit Baby, QUIT!!!!)

I vote run. Please.

Yeah! A new Palin post.

I would be in the 71%.

I understand the loons would like to keep Sistah Sarah all to themselves. But, hey, guys and gals, share the comedic wealth with the rest of us, okay?

KBM's post highlights the sensitivity these folk exhibit whenever Palin's name comes up. I wonder if it's at least partly attributable to the fact that they, too, recognize a self-serving media freak whose presence highlights her fans' foolishness when they see one?

Naaaaaaaaaaaaw.

Sarah Palin is saying "whew, I'm sure glad this came out after I got my deal at Fox!"

"Poll: 71% Don't Want Palin to Run for President"

And the other 29% are Democrats.

I would be in the 71%.

It seems to me that the LIberal media is trying to pick the Repub candidate for 2012. By attacking her, they make her more popular with Republicans. The strategy is working very well, hook, line and sinker, Republicans fall for it!

Palin's been successfully smeared into "infamy" - where it would be far too expensive to recover her back to having a positive reputation. This by itself would conclude she's not at all a wise choice.

Palin herself killed any future prospects of political office when she QUIT the governorship. She dug her own political grave by doing that.

She dug her own political grave by doing that.

Yup. It would be hard for her, even in the primaries to explain why, when America and her state were in trouble, she went Hollywierd. Fredisded couldn't pull it off in 2007 either. Her biggest Alaska claim to fame was to have been the pipeline, but that appears to be down the tubes, thanks to falling natural gas and oil prices.

Looks like Obama is rapidly catching up with those numbers, too. If he can't go to one of the most liberal states in the US without causing the Democratic candidate to lose votes, it's hardly likely he can pull off an election of his own.

If a majority of Republicans think Palin shouldn't run for president, her goose is cooked.

- her goose is cooked

Moose... her moose is cooked. And made into burgers.

"her goose is cooked"

In her case, it's moose.

Moose... her moose is cooked. And made into burgers.

Yep, nothin' is better after a full day of snow machining thatn moose burgers, you betcha!

I'm in the 12% dem minority here. I would love, love, love to see Saint Sarah run as a Republican for 2012.

Can't blame you guys. After today's special election in Mass, I think there will be more and more democrats praying for a loser to run in 2012. That's going to be Obama's only hope of a second term.

At least y'all are smart enough to admit it. Most dems aren't. Not yet, anyway. LOL

The poll like most things done by CBS is flawed--

Total Respondents 1,090

Unweighted / Weighted
Total Republicans 311 / 302 (28%)
Total Democrats 361 / 389 (36%)
Total Independents 418 / 399 (33%)

Consider the source of the Poll. You can get a poll to show the results you want by the questions ask!!!

The legitimately elected American president, Mr. Obama, is vulnerable.

But he will prevail in 2012 because the Party of No really has nothing better.

Sarah!, Glenn, Rush, Annie C, Michelle M, Michelle B, Newtie? Double ugh. herm

Oh hell, add Huck and Mitt. Why not? herm

71 percent say they do not want the former Republican vice presidential nominee to run for president, while 21 percent say they do want her to run

The poll consisted of 21% Democrats.

Spot on.

To quote Homer Simpson:
"Aw, you can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Forty percent of all people know that."

This type of "data" (no matter what side it comes from) is pure crap, through and through.

You're all giddy abut this yet you all pretend that you didn't LOSE a seat to the Dems (that had never been held by a Dem) just 9 weeks ago.

You're all giddy abut this yet you all pretend that you didn't LOSE a seat to the Dems

1) I'm not giddy, except in the fact that the fact that the people of Massachusettes are getting what they want

2) I didn't lose a thing 9 weeks ago. What the fuck are you talking about, and what does it have to do with the Mass Senate race? Some deflections get so bizarre, it's hard to tell what you mean.

So your sample has only 28% Republicans, and it's a surprise that 71% don't want her to run? Pretty pointless because anyone that opposes her as a candidate would not want her to run, so the "poll" is nothing more than a popularity poll biased against the candidate, since some people that like her may not want her to run for some reason.

How much better to have asked if she should run in 2012 or if she should wait until later or not run ever. 2012 may be too early for Palin, but her day will surely come.

That's going to be Obama's only hope of a second term.

Yeah, that's what people were saying about Bill Clinton one year in. People who try to predict the political future make asses of themselves on a consistent basis.

Bill Clinton oved to the Center. Obama iss too much of an idealogue ever to move to the center and work with Republican

But he will prevail in 2012 because the Party of No really has nothing better.

Democrats had the same thing with Jimmy Carter was President and then they were rooting for Reagan because they thought he was easy to beat. Ooops. They kind of got that one wrong.

Palin... smart lady who does not bow to the press. Experienced, has integrity.(None for Zero Obama) Press has had a field day trying to dishonor her, but only show their own ignorance and stupidity. I have read nothing of worth from the press. Let them show us some truth, then I will give them credit. So far they are just tabloid junk. And let me see.... how many at the book signings were press.... and how many were genuine people who wanted their books signed. Somehow I think the press and left were in their pack mode... as in packs of animals. Descriptive of the idiot jackasses. Ever just want to mow a lot of people down? Would not be missed, just getting rid of trash.

You've got this election pegged as some mandate that spells the end for the dems and Obama all while ignoring what happened 9 weeks ago in NY.

No deflection. Simply pointing out the facts.

"I think there will be more and more democrats praying for a loser to run in 2012"

The Party of No has a boatload of 'em ready to go.

You've got this election pegged as some mandate that spells the end for the dems and Obama...

???

I am not so stupid as to think that a single election (or any single event) 'spells the end'. It is just another brick in the wall that that is hastening the swing of the political pendulum back to the right.

The Party of No has a boatload of 'em ready to go.

duh. Both the major the parties do. No great revelation there.

CS: Here's a link that you, as an ex-sonarman might find interesting. I just scanned it and put it up yesterday. It is a volume of a written blog of sorts that wen sonarmen kept.

www.get-the-goat.com

Go to the the link and click on "ranos gol". (That's sonar log backwards). You'll empathize with a lot written. Though this volume is 30 years old, a lot of stuff written in it, could have been written today. E.G., I wrote a lot in it about going to war in the ME for oil -- long before Bush was president. LOL You'll see a lot of anachronisms and current events dating it as well.

I put notes on each page for the non-navy or non-military types. But you'll probably understand it without the notes

Sarah Palin would be just another throw away candidate just like Bob Dole and John McCain.

You've got this election pegged as some mandate that spells the end for the dems and Obama all while ignoring what happened 9 weeks ago in NY.

One Congreesional District in upstate NY is hardly equivalent to a Senate race in the most liberal state in the East

A majority of Republicans, 56 percent, don't want her to run while 30 percent do.

so much for the "biased" % of respondents Muff and Dipsey.

Of course it was biased.

They managed to find a few rare Republicans with functioning brain cells to make up that 60%.

What teabaggers sometimes forget is that there are still a few old-school Republicans that can actually think occasionally.

Q. should Obama quit his fucking lying?

Headline: 100% believe Obama is a liar!

the other 29% are talk show hosts and comedians.

That's actually just 100% of you, dude.

If you'd like to point out some lies of Obama, I'd be happy to consider your claims, though.

With that being the case, would the left please stop obsessing about her!

Obama's rating not much better BTW!

With that being the case, would the left please stop obsessing about her!

I seriously doubt that Palin wants the leftist commie marxist press to turn of the cameras and shut down the keyboards.

How much did she make off the book, and what are her speaking fees, and what is her contract with Fox worth(now that she has abandoned her post as governor and is a free agent)?

the other 29% are talk show hosts and comedians.

A lot more than the governor of Alaska pays, I'm sure.

Kind of like this guy who was president for 8 years yet managed to mastermind the 9/11, line the pockets of himself and his friends at the country's expense, fool congress into thinking WMDs existed in Iraq, etc., yet make himself appear as a stupid chimp. More like a smart fox, I'd say. LOL

Suckers

A lot more than the governor of Alaska pays, I'm sure.

And a lot less than the voters in Alaska expected, I'd say.

LOL.

re: fool congress into thinking WMDs existed in Iraq, etc., yet make himself appear as a stupid chimp.

That one was pretty good. I'll give him that, and this:

And a lot less than the voters in Alaska expected, I'd say.

I havaen't seen any story about their complaints. But if you have, please link to them. Otherwise, I have to assume more baseless BS assumptions from boyd -- which we are all quite accustomed to, of course

Suckers

So as long as progressives are unhappy, you don't give a fuck about America and it's people?

Wow, GoatSemen, that really is ballsy of you.

re:But if you have, please link to them.

Maybe they were relieved that she quit half way through the job they elected her to do in order to have a book deal and a gig on Fox.

Could be.

Since your standard of a successful public servant is lying the country into war and wrecking the economy, I'm not really sure where we should begin.

But, for another day...

So as long as progressives are unhappy, you don't give a fuck about America and it's people?

???

Of course I do. I can't help it if the majority of them elect a useless president.

But I love the melodramatic effect of your post. LOL

No links then, boyd?

OK

More boyd drivel. (what a surprise. LOL)

Goatman-
Oh, and this is a nice legacy too:

www.harpers.org

Adios.

Since your standard of a successful public servant is lying the country into war and wrecking the economy,

Not my standard, (I've often said I thought Bush was a fucked up president) but thank you for entering your child-like assigning of positions mode early on so I don't have to waste more time on you.

Later, child. And please, grow up.

If I respected the opinion of a child, I would check out your links. But someone who has nothing better to do than to assign false positions (why?) would never link to anything worthwhile.

Grow up, boyd.

"Since your standard of a successful public servant is lying the country into war and wrecking the economy, I'm not really sure where we should begin."

hey, don't sell Obama short yet ~ he's got 3 more years to declare war on the American people via CASS

And please, grow up.

Grow up, boyd.

#63 | Posted by goatman

Oddly enough, statistics show that the use of the phrase "grow up" peaks at age 16.

Oddly enough, statistics show that the use of the phrase "grow up" peaks at age 16.

WHich makes it all the more sad that boyd has to be told that by someone younger than 16.

The funny thing is that she would have done a better job in 2009 than Obama had.

No deflection. Simply pointing out the facts.

RRRRRRRRRReally?

Seems odd coming from the party that made a huge deal about the election of two governors. GOVERNORS?!?!

Republicans are the party of "hell no", actually. Dems quake in fear at the even mention of Palin. She is much more dangerous as a pundit to you libs.

RRRRRRRRRReally?

Seems odd coming from the party that made a huge deal about the election of two governors. GOVERNORS?!?!

Governors are state wide races as are Senator races son. A Three way Congression District in upstate NY hardly represents the whole state of NY while a STATE-WIDE governors race in NJ could mean trouble for Menendez in 2012. THat was obvious by his statement this morning. While he is not panicking , he is concerned

Palin is out Brown is in. The pubbies finally found some who could win an election. The only problem, he has to be a quitter too to run for president.

She isn't going to be on the ticket except on the Liberal Fantasy Election. The libs seem to be fixated on her though

Poll: 71% Don't Want Palin to Run for President

I'm a conservative and I agree. She is not electable.

The Rep. party needs a strong conservative to stand up and lead. If this happens the Dems are done.

Newt is who the Dems should be scared of. Newt would chew obama up and spit him out in a debate

CBS NEWS POLL, is BS, if anyone believes their radical number shifting, it has to be the radical left, they go along with their lying and cooking the numbers like obediant little ass kissing lefties are known to do...

If she doesn't run it would put a lot of comedians out of work.
