The Bric grouping Brazil, Russia, India and China has become a shorthand for the rise of emerging markets in the global economy, and according to analyst they are set to take over the global economy by 2030.

A decade ago, only one had an investment-grade credit rating; now all do. Only 12 years ago, a Russian debt default and Brazilian currency crisis rocked the world economy; today, they have accumulated vast foreign exchange reserves.

The Brics contributed about half of global growth between 2000 and 2008 sharply higher than in the previous decade.

2030 - that's optimistic!

Meanwhile we succumb to partisan bickering here in the states. No one wants to meet in the middle, it's one political extreme's way, or the highway.

Way to go Libruls and Teabaggers. You guys fucked the rest of us.

So, someone is finally giving "teabaggers" some credibility? I was sure we were an inert group. Ineffectual.

No credibility per se, just blame. It's the political extremists in this country who refuse to meet in the middle who are causing our downfall.

Blame as in "there are more of you than we first thought"? I've yet to meet but a few extremists in any of the groups I've met - a couple were Alex Jones fans and we'd shut them down immediately.

Blame as in "there are more of you than we first thought"?

No blame as in will pick out a wedge issue and let that divide the population into two blocs ensuring that the real issues facing the nation will never be addressed.

Nanc, not crazy Alex Jones extremists, but political extremist who refuse to negotiate. And when you add teabaggers and liberals together you get a decent sized group which is causing the stalemate in this country and it's why we will fail. If you consider yourself a member then consider yourself partially responsible for our demise.

#7 - #8 - most of the groups I know of are inviting candidates from every political party to townhalls and such - we're hosting an independent this week. Many of us have become independents in light of what's happened. We're looking at ALL candidates.

People will remain true to their ideals regardless of political party, but many will continue to be yellow dogs and I say that about republicans as well.

James Watt: "We don't have to protect the environment, the Second Coming is at hand."

Ronald Reagan: "Facts are stupid things."

Alex Jones: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the REAL world, I'm Alexander Jones, thank you for joining us."

Cranc: "My Yeshua is coming!"

I think it is sort of ridiculous to pretend Obama and the Dems are too extreme considering that much of their agenda has been a goal of progressives since Teddy Roosevelt. If Dems are radical extremists then so to was TR.
After thirty years of moving the center to the right it seems like leftist extremism to favor even slightly liberal policies.

"We're looking at ALL candidates."

and then you'll vote against Democrats.

I don't think Obama is an extremist. I think he has been turned away from by extremist in his own party though.

#12 - I'd vote for a democrat and have.

And when I see political pov's expressed other than their own narrow viewpoints, they are shouted down. Then the said party will claim "victory" in not allowing an alternative message to get out.

If your groups do that they are just as guilty.

The first time I remember it beind done was the Florida recount where "grassroots (after being flown in on Enron jets) activists" shouted down the recount process then went on to high five each other.

People will remain true to their ideals regardless of political party

People will be lead around by their nose and never know the true agenda of the people doing the leading.

How the hell else do you get senior citizens protesting to "keep government out of my medicare"?

I'd vote for a democrat and have.

Democrat - Republican. Two different names for an individual with the same goal.... re-election.

We need more people who are willing to admit that we have put ourselves in a hole and the only way to get out of that hole is to analyze all government spending and ensure we generate enough revenue to cover that spending. There is nothing wrong with entitlement programs as long as money is being spent wisely. The solution to our problems is not bigger government, nor is the solution an abolishment of income taxes and less spending. In order to maintain a more perfect union we need a strong federal government which looks out for the people and that does not try to enrich itself through the people.

In keeping with the history of the united states, time to warm up the B-52's.

I have news for you. At the risk of sounding like an economic Al Gore. We don't have twenty years. We have to get our shit together or the bank is going to foreclose.

In order to maintain a more perfect union we need a strong federal government which looks out for the people and that does not try to enrich itself through the people.

It ain't going to happen. A strong central will always look out for itself at the expense of its people. It was never any other way. The 20th century taught you dupes nothing. Strong central governments are oppressive and destruction; they attract psychopaths to political office. If you think America is different, you'd be dead wrong.

One represents organized crime, the other disorganized crime.
