The Climategate crowd successfully worked to obscure the connection between solar activity and climate. The leaked CRU e-mails reveal how.

I can't believe people don't realize it's the sun that warms the planet.

Tell me, genius, how does a greenhouse work?

"With such convincing evidence..."

Hahaha, if the American Thinker says that, it must be true! But... it isn't. The paper was "obscured" because it wasn't worthy. This happens in science all the time. No fraud.

As ChevyChase has noted, the sun does indeed warm the planet. However, solar variations on temperatures have been found to be rather insignificant.

It is known that if there were no greenhouse gases, Earth would be 59 degrees F colder. Less greenhouse gas = colder. More greenhouse gas = warmer.

I know it doesn't work too good if you leave the windows open.

I know it doesn't work too good if you leave the windows open.

That's the entire point of getting CO2 down, ideally to about 350PPM. That's the only "window" to "open."

As to peer reviewed, fully vetted work of researchers, the most disciplined work I've read is by Solanki from Max Planck Institute. Unfortunately the anti-GW folks have so misconstrued, lied and misinterpreted his work he had to post this on his website:

A misleading account of my views was published in the Toronto National Post in March, 2007 (and is to be found at different places on the web). In contrast to what is written there I am not a denier of global warming produced by an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases. Already at present the overwhelming source of global warming is due to manmade greenhouse gases and their influence will continue to grow in the future as their concentration increases. The same newspaper already misquoted other scientists on this topic. See, for example, the home page of Nigel Weiss of Cambridge University www.damtp.cam.ac.uk

Given the rebuke, I guess ya drop back and punt with an 2003 piece that's been "obscured." Oh wait, it gets SO much better.

Soon and Baliunas "work" was ripped to shreds by the researchers whose work they used. All for 53K from the American Petroleum Institute while being paid consultants to the Marshall Institute.
