The Travails of Martha Coakley
A campaign lacking in soul and a candidate lacking in heart.'

Presumably Martha Coakley, the Massachusetts attorney general aiming to be that state's next U.S. senator, has more political skill than she's demonstrated in recent days. She must be on a spectacularly ill-timed run of bad luck and rookie mistakes.

As Republican Scott Brown has roared from unknown to potential upset winner, Coakley came under fire for having her campaign largely go dark for weeks after the primary, but there was a certain logic to keeping a low profile during the holiday season; voters' minds are elsewhere. What's worse is what happened once the holidays ended.

I love her comment about foreign experinece.

"Visiting her sister overseas"

Sounds like Obama's growing up at age 4 or whatever in Jakarta...

Beats just looking at it from your porch!

You can see Jakarta from your porch?

"You can see Jakarta from your porch?"

Yes, but only with the Proper Dose of Strychnine and the Right Number of Snakes.

The Quitta from Wasilla

Such a great strategy. At least Coakly isn't Palin. Of course Palin isn't running for anything. But at least the libbys can try to deflect from the incompetence that is the Coakly campaign. There are no terrorists in Afghanistan? And let's run off to DC to get donations from the health care and union lobbies. Nothing like corporate sponsors for a Democrat candidate. That's only bad if the candidate is a Republican. The word "but" should be removed from the headline.

Coakley will win. If Massachusetts keeps sending back brain-dead drunk drivers like Teddy Kennedy, and see-no-evil Bawney Fwank whose gay lover ran an escort service out of his townhouse without his knowledge, and another lover was a coke distributor without his knowledge, and three trillion dollars blown by his oversight committee through Fannie and Freddie without his knowledge, there's no way this bimbo doesn't get to Washington.

Massachusetts voters are very forgiving of Democrats. The worse the candidate is, the better. Coakley will win, probably easily.

Winning is everything and nothing else matters.

I hope you are wrong this time RiR...

She should win. But we'll have to see who shows up to vote.

We'll see what the polls are when they take them Friday or this weekend.
