President Barack Obama on Thursday described bank bonuses as "obscene" and called for a new tax on Wall Street's largest firms to cover a projected $117 billion shortfall in the government's financial crisis bailout fund.

This is the Thread where the supposed Tea Party "populists" will trample over the actual populace in their rush to defend the banks.

Forget that the banks charge you a fee if you get negligent and overdraw your account. In Teabag World, Banks shouldn't be asked to pay a "fee" for the service we provided them (bailout) when they got negligent and overdrawn.

In a Teabag world, the US government would be about the size and competence of the Haitian government.

Only then would the greedfuckers be happy.

Maybe the moosefart could lead a few tebagger rallies down in Haiti. Probably not.... they couldn't afford her fee.

I don't necessarily have a problem charging a fee.

Only the gov't can change the rules of the game in mid-stream.

It won't have the desired result.

And AIG and GMAC are exempt-aren't they??

FMAE AND FMAC are exempt too?

"Where my money at" as opposed to "Where is my money" that must be what harry reid was speaking of when he said "Negro dialect"...

Not a racial statement though as long as a Liberal Dumbocrat says it, then even al sharpton will eat the corn out of your ass...

"Only the gov't can change the rules of the game in mid-stream"

Apparently you have never heard of "interest rate hikes" or "Finance Charge Increases"!

"It won't have the desired result."

So recouping some of the expense incurred by the American taxpayer isn't a desired result, now?

Just as I predicted!

Here are things that allow the Banks to "change the rules of the game in mid-stream"
1. You were late on your credit card payment.
2. You were late on a payment to another credit card.
3. You got too close to your credit limit.
4. You went over your credit limit.
5. You got too close or went over your credit limit on another card.
6. Your credit score dropped.
7. You have too many credit cards.
8. You have too much debt.
9. Your check bounced.
10. You filed bankruptcy.
11. You gave the bank false information.
12. You fail to adhere to any of the terms in the cardholder agreement.
13. You used the card illegally.
14. You have a variable rate tied to another interest rate that increased (e.g. the Prime Rate).
15. Your credit card issuer's business strategies changed.
16. Market conditions changed.
Pay close attention to rule 15 and 16

As a massive human tragedy unfolds in Haiti, relief organizations are soliciting credit-card donations through their hotlines and websites. About 97 percent of these donations will actually make it to the designated organizations -- but the other 3 percent will be skimmed off by banks and credit card companies to cover their "transaction costs."

Thanks to this hidden fee, American banks and credit card companies are making huge profits -- somewhere in the neighborhood of $250 million a year -- off of people's charitable donations

Only the gov't can change the rules of the game in mid-stream.

Smurph, take a gander at yer cell phone "contract" and you will see that the only ones who cannot change the rules mid-stream are the consumers.

He must have gotten a call from Sol Olinsky.
