Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

For years now, we have been told that science is dedicatedly attempting to find out how the Earth's Climate works. With all possible seriousness, the most publically vocal of these scientists, those working for the UN's IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), have for the last several years blamed the warming they "found" on Carbon Dioxide.

Maybe we should put him in a box and fill it with CO2 and see how irrelevant it is.

Finally! WE'VE FOUND THE ONE TRUE SCIENTIST! No need for any more of those pesky experiments.

This fellow better duck and cover, the "Liberal Inquisition" is about to catch up to him.

Patience my brothers, we must be civil lest the Goreacle not let us into the Holy Windfarm and grant us 72 virgin solar panels. The nay-sayers shall not be allowed past the pearly gates of the Heavenly Tidal Damn, nor shall they reap the bounty of the piss-to-KoolAide backpack filter.

Let us pray, our father, who art the Goreacle please forgive these nasty breathers and cast their bodies into the oil pits of Iraq.

I would like my 72 virgin solar panels... where do I sign up? Do I have to sign a loyalty oath like the rethugs do?

"In reality water is so overwhelming abundant on Earth, it dominatingly, completely, and overwhelmingly governs the climate equilibrium of the Earth. It is 71% of the total surface area of the planet, 333 Million cubic miles (a cubic mile is an imaginary cube measuring one mile on each side) of water exist here, by far outweighing all other greenhouse gasses."

They call themselves scientists? There's a lot of water on Earth, so other greenhouse gases don't matter? Greenhouse gases all react differently. Methane is about twenty times stronger than CO2 for example.

Yup, this is an Onion article.

Seventy percent of the surface of the planet is liquid water. Clouds are white. All the water's near the surface, whatever the phase.

Any questions?

If your knowledge of high school physics is so poor that the implications of phase diagrams and reflection of light are not trivially obvious to you then trying to explain nonlinear dynamics and quantum mechanics on a blog is hopeless.

What sort of planet would have CO2 in all three phases on it's surface?

There will be a test.

You have already failed.

Every attempt to manipulate nature has been a disaster. Next.

I dunno. Dams work pretty well.

One scientist develops his own simplified climate model and suddenly it is "proven" that CO2 is completely harmless in the environment, yet empirical data that supports evolution is everywhere but it's still "just a theory".

BTW, here is an interesting take on Miscolkzi's theory that points out three fundamental errors he made...

Only 3?

Yes, it has been a disaster. That's why we had global warming. But since you said "next", global warming has gone away. Thanks!

Recently a denier posted a link for me - "AGW debunked for 5". An experiment consisting of plastic bottles, aquarium thermometers, mineral water, CO2 and a heat lamp. He seriously thought the experiment proved CO2 wasn't a greenhouse gas.

That should say 5 pounds. The symbol didn't post.

I think that same thing has been linked here on the DR several times (you may be referring to one of them).

Yes, their understanding of science is that bad. No, the don't understand why everyone else thinks they're idiots.

I dunno. Dams work pretty well.

I'd say that's a matter of perspective.

From our viewpoint, vast artificial lakes as a means to generate power or store water for use in daily life has been great.

From the viewpoint of the eco system that is now covered with water, probably not so much.

That's like Zat using his peer reviewed swimming pool as a means of charting the day to day temperature fluctuations.

We are nature, dude.

Human Beings are just relatively hairless apes with language.

Wot previous attempts were you talking about?

Be Well.
