ODL! Hope they put her on like at 2:00 a.m. She's a nice lady and all, but I don't know how much of that tooth clearing sound she makes I can stand.

LMAO, as if the left wasn't pissed off enough.

Maybe they will put her on in Beck's time slot so Obama can interrupt her instead of Beck on a daily basis.

She'll fit right in.

Fair and Balanced.....hahahahahahaha!

The contract calls for an option to quit halfway thru it's term.

... and an office with a view of Siberia.

OMG!!!!OMG!!!!

Muffy.

Wait. Sarah Palin on Fox? Stunning.
No one could have predicted it.

I was so close to liking Palin and switching political allegiances, but this completely ruined it.

I guess the Left can stop sucking each other off now since she will not be running for office like they fantasize about.

Maybe she can do a little of that there campaignin' while she's on, you betcha.

#9 - yeah, right, Rog. ;)

BPH, don't let your fantasies intrude into your everyday life.

My guess is that she is doing it to: 1) make lots of money and 2) keep herself in the public eye come 2012.

I find her amusing - like pro wrestling...and just as honest.

Is anyone surprised by this?

She is pretty damn stupid. I just can't see her holding her own, a la Huckabee. Unless she is fed the information, or merely given softball pitches, this could be a disaster. Y'know even though I do disagree with Huckabee on most issues, he is a smart guy who can articulate a position with some detailed knowledge. Does anyone, even people at FoxNews, believe the same of Palin?

You mean she's going to make big bucks and not run in 2012? Selfish Bitch! -The Obsessive Left.

lol. stupid trash sticks together.

You mean the people that just hired her, you retard? Jesus Christ, you take the cake.

MSNBC must be crying their yes out.... truly they are.

Party at Jon Stewart's house!!

"LMAO, as if the left wasn't pissed off enough"

This comment is especially moronic considering the state of the GOP is what it is today because of the "rights" inability to police themselves of these charlatans.

Is Palins intellect really what you want others to associate with the GOP and Conservatism going forward?

Forget the left; do you think this commercial selling maneuver by fox is going to win you converts on election day?

crying their eyes out

Now the Left is going to crucify her for being on a network they never watch. Fucking amazing.

This gets a big-ass headline? Geez, what's on for tomorrow-sunrises in east?

Comedians around the world are saying grateful prayers to whichever God they pray to.

Geez, what's on for tomorrow-sunrises in east?

Pelosi calls Obama a spear chucker.

Palin is LSU's Official Javelin catcher for '10.

Successful politics is about exposure and being on Fox News is big time exposure.

Oh my goodness! This is like so unexpected. I mean, this came from nowhere. I mean this is like wow, who would have though of Sarah and Fox News. This is soooo bizarre. I am biting my fingers trying to figure out who had the brilliance and site to see this marriage take place. They should be promoted now.

Sarah on Faox is only going to be one taking pint after another. All those folks repeat the same things anyway. From HJannity to Beck to Oreilly to on and on, birth certificate, deficit, stimlus, cant say terrorsit, blah blah blah blah blah. I would actually support Insularts, I mean republicans if I thought they would offer someting concrete. The whole do it yourself party platform is expired. People need help and it's almost impossible to help urself today. School is too expensive, jobs are being cut, cant get banks loans, but wait theres more. Sorry Pubs, sorry Sarah, ur timing is not good. Come see me when America visits the 90's again.

"Fair and Balanced"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! What a Fucking Joke!!!!!!!

Wow. Please don't drive today.

Damn.

My heart won't take many more of these mavericky surprises.

Seriously, I think Palin realized from her last experience in politics that politics = ability to think and speak, and that media = money = shopping.... so she has made the wise choice here.

is she going to have to read newspapers?

I find her amusing - like pro wrestling...and just as honest.

#14 | Posted by rjgonzalez at 2010-01-11 02:48 PM | Reply

Vince McMahon is pissed with that comment. Pro wrestling is much more honest.

I'm sorry Robert Altman's not around for this. I'd love to see his casting for the roles of the corporate mogul who owns the faux news outlet, the fat political hack who heads the "news" department, the spitting and weeping Lonesome Rhodes bipolar clone who shills for gold futures as he whips people up into paranoid frenzies with a blackboard as his main prop, the new addition of the blathering Barbie, and the rest of the wacky crew. The finished production could've been positively Nashvillesque.

"Successful politics is about exposure and being on Fox News is big time exposure"

As if Running and Losing as VP wasn't enough (exposure) already. But I like how you can torture the logic in a way that makes you confident that additional exposure to the same people who already voted for her (and lost) is going to make any difference.

Yo Celisary is Reid "A FUCKING RACIST"? Have not seen your fair and balanced take on that one yet. Also RCADE is completely obsessed with Palin, this headline prooves it.

Successful politics is about exposure and being on Fox News is big time exposure.

She'll be talking to the 1% of America who already adores her. Big question-is she replacing anybody or they just gonna stick her boobs on whenever Beck loses his Vicks?

Doc Sarvis, if you turned the dish on your trailer a little to the right you might actually pick up Fox. Take a break one night from SpongeBob and check it out.

"Successful politics is about exposure and being on Fox News is big time exposure"

We'll see about that, I have a feeling that exposure is not going to do Palin any favors....just the opposite I predict.

"Doc Sarvis, if you turned the dish on your trailer a little to the right you might actually pick up Fox."

All you have to do to get Fox is turn on your TV, it is everywhere. YOu can get it through your plumbing.

I get it beamed directly into by brain through my tinfoil hat

Then again, I would prefer her over that Dick Morris asshole that shows up everywhere!

This is why Murdock is rollin' in the dough.

Her first assignment should be to go to Arizona and cover McCain's reelection efforts.

"Then again, I would prefer her over that Dick Morris asshole that shows up everywhere!"

Agreed!

LMFAO!

Given this development, can anyone doubt that the 'tea party' is anything more than the 'Clusterfox party'.

This pretty much nails it down, doncha think? Fox created it, promoted the hell out of it and now they done hired the top bag!!!

I am really sad now. This kills my dreams of great comedy in 2012. I liked her better as a pretend outsider maverick.

just like disney had the mouseketeer club, faux has the t party club

Maybe oDumba will lend her a teleprompter...

You Leftards are the one who cant get enough of the term Tea Baggers. You guys cant stop talking about Palin. You are fantasizing about her running because she will be easily defeated. She will not be on the ticket in 2012 so dont get your hopes up.

Will she be interviewing Katie Couric?

She is pretty damn stupid. I just can't see her holding her own, a la Huckabee

Your comment doesn't say much for Joe Biden who is a step away from the white house.

Palin is perfect for faux neocon network and if she gets indicted/convicted from any of the investigations of her governorship, she can join the faux felon club too.....liddy, north, etc...

i really want to see her run in 12. would love to see her t bag

Timbicile,

Biden's morning dump is smarter than the moosefart. For a pinhead that loved Jeff Gannon's idiot girlfriend, you should be the last person to comment on someone's intelligence.

You are fantasizing about her running because she will be easily defeated.

I was only in it for the laughs.

I pretty sure we will still get a few of those with her commentary for Fox.

Stupidity is usually just pitiful, but willful ignorance can often be amusing.

Does this mean the DR Lieral Retards will have to tune in? If not, what the fuck are we going to discuss? The light skinned President with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one?

I bet Faux had to leave a trail of bread crumbs out for her to find her way to the studio. She'll fit right in, she's finally home.

I wonder how good she is at really teabagging? After all teabagging to maximize pleasure is an art.

And another thing, this will prepare her for the 2012 campaign. Viewers of the most popular cable fake news will vote for her for sure.

Does this mean the DR Lieral Retards will have to tune in?

Nah.

We'll wait for Jon Stewart to deliver us the funny.

Jon Stewart is funny?

"if you turned the dish on your trailer a little to the right you might actually pick up Fox."

Since I don't have a trailer or a dish, your advice is what one would expect: useless. I can watch Fox anytime I want on something you might want to try sometime: c-a-b-l-e. Been around for years and, I expect, just as soon as they grade a road into your neck of the woods you'll be able to get more than just a test pattern.

I actually do tune into Fox every once in a while, just to see how deep the paranoia's striking any particular day. It's a hoot. Sometimes I get it confused with the Comedy Channel.

Most the dems that post here get their news from The Daily Show obviously.

"Jon Stewart is funny?"

Yes he is!

Most the dems that post here get their news from The Daily Show obviously.

Jon Stewart is just an entertainer.

"Most the dems that post here get their news from The Daily Show obviously."

While I think she's an idiot, I really owe her a debt of gratitude.

One more thing....when you clowns keep wanting to know why Sara Palin is always in the news, it will be because she's ON THE NEWS...literally.

LOL...I LOVE IT!

Well, the girls gotta get paid somehow.

It's not like she getting that 'Governor pay' anymore...LOL...nor VP pay.

SSSSSSLAP!

Stewart comes much closer to delivering actual news than anything on Clusterfox after about 4pm.

How can FNN call themselves a 'news' network if 80% of their programming is opinion?

"Perhaps, the dems here do seem more in touch with reality than the Faux News viewers."

If only conservatives watch Fox news, the libs are in a world of shit, considering the ratings Fox gets over all other news sources. Too, assuming that so many here revile Fox News, one must assume that they either watch it anyway, or don't watch it at all, thus have no actual knowledge of the programming. But then again, when did actual facts ever get in the way of a liberal's argument?

Alaska breathes a sigh of relief ... Sarah will probably move... Lisa Murkowsky can now reclaim her crown as the Last Frontier's political cheese cake.

Bolt a satellite dish to your mobile home and find out for yourself.

Like her or not, she is provocative. The conservative base is infuriated in case you haven't noticed. All you need is for the base to become emotionally vested in the process, and viola. Just look at all the useful university idiots that rolled out for Obama just because he's light skinned and chose to speak with a Negro dialect as required, and said "hope...change".

You mean the people that just hired her, you retard? Jesus Christ, you take the cake.

On damn. I knew it was too good to be true. She's already quit.

Yea, the left is so obsessed with her that they gave her a job on their favorite TV channel. I hear they also are going to spend good money and travel across the country to see her speak at their big convention.

Here's a clue for ya'. If the right would stop putting her out in front of everyone and giving her a platform, no one else would care.

What, ANOTHER Palin thread?

Yup. I didn't intend to double up on Palinapalooza today, but the Fox News story happened after the other one.

Says she's a contributor, I would assume she'll be like Juan Williams (not politically mind you) and make regular cameo's on various other shows, not a regular gig like Huckabee.

NEWSFLASH: The "Can I call you Joe" line was Palin's idea after it came to light that she couldn't stop calling Joe Biden "O'Biden". This is from the lips of her own handlers who got her ready for the debates. She even called him "Sen O'Biden" during that famous debate.

AU--

First Welcome Back...

Second--Schmidt was not around as much as you might think.

And there was "headquarters" calling shots and no one seemed to know who that person or group of people were.

The foreign policy stuff was admitted by Sarah--they both agreed that she had to learn a lot.

As any Governor would have to learn who was picked for VP.

As Obama had to learn as a candidate as well for that matter.

And Steve was complimentary on her hard work.

The debate prep in her book was going poorly. No one was engaged. They were in a stuffy hotel room.

That was when Steve who had arrived at the hotel said it was not going well and she agreed with his comment.

So they moved the debate prep to McCain's ranch.

And the debate was fabulous--so there you go.

"Yeah right, Sperm Bank. How many Palin threads has the right put up since the election? Are are you just talking out of your well used oriface again, whore?"

Wisgod:

I well remember the roars of enthusiasm with which this untested, unknown person was greeted at the RNC convention. I well remember her drubbing at the hands of Katie Couric - which is like being bested in political debate by Gidget - and 47.8 percent of those who voted cast their ballots for the ticket she was on anyway. I have witnessed the crowds that have lined up to have their copies of Going Rogue signed by a woman who is so rogue she didn't think it was worth finishing her term as Governor of Alaska. I have seen the defenses of her lies - like the ones about her husband's secessionist affiliations - all over the Net.

It may be that here at the DR, the lefties are the ones who say things about Palin, but that's because we don't have an outlet for rah-rah on FOX and Clear Channel the way you guys do. I know it's Standard Rightie Attack No. 104-B to accuse lefties of being obsessed with Palin every time they mention her, but I remind you that it's the right that plunks down money for her book. It's not every day a five-million-dollar advance for a politician's book - a genre that's normally heavily remaindered - earns out.

Palin has put herself out there as a public figure; she is going to get comments and heat for everything she does, and because of her evasions, half-truths, incompetencies and pretensions, those of you who support her will too. Get used to it.

MURPHY

I know you're a fan of Palin, so I'll just respect your right to our opinion.

As I said, who posts the Palin threads? Where is all this support from the right? Book buyers? Nothing but a stretch. I consider it nothing but a diversion from the Left who deny daily the lies the President told during his campaign and continues to re-enforce by his daily actions. But, it keeps this site alive, I guess. Sad, in a way...

You come here too, y'know.

P.S.: It is hardly a stretch to mention Palin's book sales. I absolutely detest both the book's author and the fact that it has achieved the sales figures it has, but the fact is that those figures are phenomenal. Most pols' books end up in Dollar Tree at a buck a pop. For better or worse, Palin's base seems to be willing to put quite a bit of money where its mouth is.

Mary--

I'll Agree that she should not have resigned as governor.

She finished the pipeline deal legislation in the first year.

When you are in debt 500k due to the left filing phoney ethics complaints--something had to change.

As for her husband ties to the secessionist affiliations --I think he was supposedly in the club for what--7 years??

Then it appears that he found out what the club was all about and left it. Not sure of the details and she does not address this in her book.

That is certainly better than Obama staying in a puke cult church with Rev Wright for 20 years and still not leaving until it was politically expedient to do so.

You come here too, y'know.
Posted by MaryTylerWhore

True. And I apologize for being a dick earlier.

Wis--I post threads about Sarah too.

Most threads from the left of center folks are off the huf n puf.

So try to give some balance.

I just can't stand to think that we would boot an opportunity in 2012 with her against an incumbent that is in the toilet after 11 months. Just my opinion.

Palin's book is quite good.

I hope she writes another.

She has been writing in a journal since she was a kid. So to put together this book was easy and the reason it was printed so quickly.

As for her husband ties to the secessionist affiliations --I think he was supposedly in the club for what--7 years??

Then it appears that he found out what the club was all about and left it.

MURPHY

You have to admit that stretches credulity to think SEVEN years later he 'found out' what it was about, dontcha think?

"I hope she writes another."

If she does, it'll be her first.

"You come here too, y'know.

True. And I apologize for being a dick earlier."

S'awright.

Wis--not sure she would run in 2012.

She has the core values of a conservative and chops for the domestic issues.

She needs to talk about the foreign issues--which she has been doing--biting Obama every chance she gets.

Let's get by the 2010 election so Obama's agenda can come to a halt and go from there.

You have to admit that stretches credulity to think SEVEN years later he 'found out' what it was about, dontcha think?

Almost as hard to believe as Obama sitting in Rev. Racist's church for 20 years and didn't know what Jeremiah was all about.

Dontcha think?

"You have to admit that stretches credulity to think SEVEN years later he 'found out' what it was about, dontcha think?"

Yeah. you would think after 20 years in the rev. wright church he Obama would know what it's about wouldn't you? But, then he had nooooooo idea that kind of hate was being spewed?

#162 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

You are correct and I don't know the details. Sounds like a goofy club.

Like the Reform Party under Ross Perot--I was in that for a year way back when!!

If she does, it'll be her first.

Doc--she wrote her book. It's her all over it.

#165 | Posted by MURPHY

No prevent defense for me. Offense all the way. I owe it to my kids. Hopefuly, we can find someone with the stones to remove Russ Feingold from office as well this year.

The Repubs are going to take the Senate back.

The House is another matter.

Repubs need 42 seats and keep the same 177 in the House to unseat Pelosi.

It's doable--but it would be monumental if they got that number.

Wait until the 2nd Stimulus, after only 20% of the first one has been released.

MURPHY

Of course you can see the large difference between Perot's Reform Party and an organization whose stated goal is for Alaska's secession from the United States. To be sure, Alaska would miss the funds from the U.S. Treasury, of which they are the largest recipient per capita in the United States.

"Doc--she wrote her book."

LOL!

Au, what about the 20 years vs the 7 years?

LYNN VINCENT: THE OTHER VOICE BEHIND THE SARAH PALIN BOOK

Did Palin really write "Going Rogue" all by herself? As MSNBC's Chris Matthews noted back in May, "She's got this book deal, she obviously is not gonna write it."

Matthews was right. Palin had help.

Not that there's anything wrong with that unofficially, we'd estimate that 90 percent of the books published by politicians are heavily ghost-written. (A notable exception: Barack Obama, whose "Dreams from My Father" was considered by many critics to have real literary merit.) In Palin's case, help came in the form of Lynn Vincent, a senior writer for the conservative Christian publication World Magazine.

(A notable exception: Barack Obama, whose "Dreams from My Father" was considered by many critics to have real literary merit.)

Just goes to show that William Ayers could do more than blow up a campus.

From wikipedia "Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972, as he noted in his 2001 book, Fugitive Days. Ayers writes:"

Except that it's a fact that Sarah had a ghost writer, everything about Obama's book is pure speculation.

I got blistering news for ya.

I think we're going to be looking at President Clinton in '12.

Obama seems to be blowing it, the Repubs don't have an electable candidate (wet dreamers take note: Palin is detested by at least as many folks as love her), and that leaves Hillary, who was many peoples' choice all along.

It's going to be interesting, especially the part where the divine Mrs. C. bites her some Obama butt. She'll be turning on him by next Fall, I should think.

Personally, I'm all for her being Prez. Obama isn't working out, even with a Dem Congress. When you have it in your power to give us a health care bill that would leave lefties so deliriously happy your re-election would be a landslide - and you can't accomplish it with your own party in charge - you're a wet noodle.

Is anybody really surprised? The only thing that surprises me is that it took them/her so long to do it.

I think we're going to be looking at President Clinton in '12.

Hillary has one drawback and alway has: Bill.

I'll agree tha Obozo is a wet noodle--lol

That would take monumental huevos for Hillary to run in 2012.

She won't do it. It would split the party and Hillary is too smart for that.

--------

And Doc--did you read her book?

She has 35 years of journals--it's about her life.

It's a fast read.

She addressed the election and the behind the scenes.

She admits her mistakes in the election as well.

It's a great book about someone who grew up in America.

Hillary has one drawback and alway has: Bill.

Not according to Todd and the AIP.

What you mean Murphy, were you not so prejudiced, is that is a totally mundane work of several people stitching together an illusion of a story about a "regular American" which has absolutely zero value.

Fox News, and people like you, disagree, so they will pay her millions to spout off this cliched garbage and people like you will fall for it. Because Fox News is the opium of the Stupid.

From a New York Times book review:
They write that during debate preps, some staff members assigned to Sarah Palin by the McCain campaign discussed the "threatening possibility: that Palin was mentally unstable." They add that several of Senator John McCain's lieutenants agreed that if it looked as if their candidate might actually win in November, they would have to discuss how to relegate Ms. Palin "to the largely ceremonial role that premodern vice presidents inhabited": "it was inconceivable" that "if McCain fell ill or died, the country be left in the hands of a President Palin."
Game Change," the 2008 deconstruction, says the stress of vaulting onto the national stage caused Palin to have wild mood swings. "One minute, Palin would be her perky self; the next she would fall into a strange blue funk," the authors write.
The morning of her ill-fated CBS interview with Katie Couric, Palin "her eyes glassy and dead" was unresponsive to attempts to prep her as she was being made up. "As they were about to set off to meet Couric, Palin announced I hate this makeup' smearing it off her face, messing up her hair, complaining she looked fat," the book relates. Palin went on to give answers to Couric that were so incoherent the interview permanently damaged her.
Palin went into a tailspin. She stopped eating or sleeping, and drank only a half a can of diet soda a day, recounts the book written by John Heilemann of New York magazine and Mark Halperin of Time magazine.

Palin didn't know North Korea and South Korea are separated by the 38 Parallel and are different counties, that's the liberals fault I guess.

As for her husband ties to the secessionist affiliations --I think he was supposedly in the club for what--7 years??

Then it appears that he found out what the club was all about and left it. Not sure of the details and she does not address this in her book.

Would you say she 'Pals Around' with a SECESSIONIST??

Hell, I'd go so far as to say that she beds down with a know secessionist. If she's a good wife, she most likely sucks secessionist cock.

That's right. "Sara Plain sucks secessionist cock". Should make a lovely campaign slogan for her.

She has 35 years of journals--it's about her life.

It's a fast read.

35 years of journals, and it's a fast read? Either they are small journals, she handwriting is very large, or somebody did a lot of editing.

They add that several of Senator John McCain's lieutenants agreed that if it looked as if their candidate might actually win in November, they would have to discuss how to relegate Ms. Palin "to the largely ceremonial role that premodern vice presidents inhabited": "it was inconceivable" that "if McCain fell ill or died, the country be left in the hands of a President Palin."

Pretty much says it all. Sounds like this book should be required reading for all those smart conservative kids who can't think critically when the topic of Palin comes up. If I was that teacher who wrote to Sullivan's blog, I'd make the kids do a paper on the sections in the book that pertain to her.

she handwriting=her handwriting

"I guess the Left can stop sucking each other off now since she will not be running for office like they fantasize about.

In other words, you will have all the sucking to yourself again?

I say hellzya!!!
Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Just like years ago when Rush Limpdick had a TV show I was elated. I knew that once people saw him day in and day out they would realize..."this guys a friggin' bigot and partisan hack" (even previous fans). And, that is indeed what happened. I predict the same thing will happen with Palin. Once people (most, anyway) see her day in and day out they will realize..."wait a minute - she's fucking retarded"!!!
Go for it Sarah! Make sure you cross over to Beck and O'Reilly's shows as often as you can.
I love it!

Just sayin'

Palin joins Fox?

LOL. Wot are the odds?

Oh, that's right.

Vegas doesn't put a line out on sure things.

She has 35 years of journals--it's about her life.

Translation: She had a fundy wingnut ghost writer who took several cocktail napkins with Palin-penned notes on 'em and converted them over the period a couple of months into a very silly lie-ridden book for which she received a 7 figure advance--it's about her money.

Same with this move here.

Scary aint the brightest bulb on the Xmas tree but she's not entirely dim. She's getting while the getting is good here.

Palin on Fox go together like stank on shiat.

Be Well.

""it was inconceivable" that "if McCain fell ill or died, the country be left in the hands of a President Palin."

Which speaks volumes about the ambition of McCain and his lack of real dedication to his country.
Any potential president who would choose someone as unqualified as Palin deserves to lose the election and, thankfully, he did.

this will be good..

FOX: PALIN'S APPEARANCES TO BE SIMULCAST IN ENGLISH

NEW YORK - One day after announcing that she would be a commentator on the Fox News Channel, the network revealed that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's appearances would be simulcast in English.

"We are delighted that Gov. Palin will, for the first time, be understandable to the English-speaking audience," said Fox News chief Roger Ailes. "This should create a whole new fan base for her."

Gov. Palin praised the decision, adding, "I know many Americans will be interested in understanding what I have to say and I will also too."

In a related story, Fox said it had "no interest" in hiring funnyman Conan O'Brien, explaining, "Sarah Palin takes care of our comedy needs."

"You should really pick your battles and you need to face the fact that Liberalism is not good for the country and Conservatism is."

Never mind that every single major advance for teh benefit of working people has been brought by liberals. Never mind that conservatives have tried to block every single major advance that benefited working people.

yeah
okay...

"You should really pick your battles and you need to face the fact that Liberalism is not good for the country and Conservatism is. This is what the polls are trying to tell you."

Polls telling us that more people are embracing conservatism (this week) than are embracing liberalism is not the same thing as telling us that it's better for the country. People like watching American Idol, but it's not better for them than reading a book.

"need to face the fact that Liberalism is not good for the country and Conservatism is."

It's not a fact, it's an opinion.

Here's another opinion. Sarah Palin is an attractive, charismatic woman who is obviously unequipped by intellect and experience to be President. Mayor of Wasilla was about her level as her attempt to be Governor of Alaska showed.

She got to be nominated because McCain's campaign was going down the tubes and needed a game changer. She was that all right as her hugely successful appearance at the convention proved. Part hockey mom, part Christian family values icon, generating a wild hysteria, winks and "Drill, baby, drill" as an energy policy.

As time went by there emerged stories of Troopergate, a mysterious pregnancy, a weird African preacher, a sexually abstinent daughter who became pregnant, a secessionist husband and Russian fantasies, all of which caused people outside of the hard core GOP base to take a second look, think about McCain's health and age and decide that Bush in a skirt was not what the country needed to deal with the several crises facing us just then.

Joe the Plumber stretched his fifteen minutes into thirty making several thousand bucks in the process. Palin has stretched hers into eighteen months and several millions exploiting a pissed off segment of the population and a sensation hungry media. Time will tell if she turns out to be FOX's Rachel Maddow or just fades away like Dr Laura.

she must be doing this for Alaska, 'cause we know how much she loathes the MSM.

LOL, Jesus. Remember, Fox isn't MSM. They're fair and balanced. The MSM is all liberal bias all the time.

What does the economy have to do with the numbers?

Did you not see were the numbers of people calling themselves conservative or liberal hasn't changed much in the 18 years that the graph represents. So, please, tell us all what that has to do with the economy?

Here's the graph: www.gallup.com

Lord Willing == Knock on Wood...

But, Common, do you see that the Dems are losing approval in Congress?

I know that you desperately want the Dems to hold power after the 2010 election, but what tells you that that is going to happen?

Many incumbents are getting pressure from both side, both Conservative and Liberal. To the Liberals, they're too conservative and to Conservatives, they're too liberal.

When incumbents drop out of the race or get beaten in the Primaries, then they've lost their edge.

Ried is done in Nevada and McCain is too Liberal in his state.

It is pretty funny that she is on Fox News. I am not a fan of hers (besides that she would be hot if she kept her mouth shut)but just the pants pissing the lefties get into for someone being on a network they claim not to like. It really is funny.

The liberals here are hardly pissing their pants about Palin being on FOX. They (we?) seem to enjoy the idea. (And I--though I was hardly alone--have been saying since the election that she would end up with a cable TV show.)

Not just the Dems, I see ALL of Congress losing approval.

While I don't have a crystal ball, I can point to the recent elections this past November when the two republican governors were elected were touted by republicans as a huge victory and the 'beginning of the end of the democrats' ,all while ignoring the fact they they lost a seat in NY that had never been held by a democrat.....all thanks to the divisive Palin.

Also, Michael Steel himself said that the republicans will gain seats in both houses, that the Dems will lose the super-majority but still retain the majority. Not that I put much stock into what that clown says, but I agree with him on this.

Also, I point to this giddiness regarding Democrats retiring. Hanitty, Limbaugh, Malkin, O'Reilly all eluded to the dems as 'running scared' because of these retirements. Let's look at the numbers.

Senators: Dems - 2, Republicans - 6
Congressmen: Dems 12, Republicans - 16

Who is it again that's 'running scared'?

One more time, what do what economic numbers you previously quoted have to do with the percentage of people calling themselves lib/con if those numbers haven't really changed over the past 18 years that the graph tracks?

You're boring me Doc.

Who here is calling for her to be fired?
Who here is screaming that it's so wrong for her to work there?

Most people here aren't surprised by this at all and are having fun with it....but not you. You're pissed that had to read 'naughty things' abut Saint Sara and you're deferred to the parties talking points.

Also, what's with the 'pants pisser' label? I believe it's you and your fellow TeaBaggers who are screaming 'Death Panels' and claiming that Obama is Hitler and has come to eat your children. Time to change your depends.

The liberals here are hardly pissing their pants about Palin being on FOX. They (we?) seem to enjoy the idea. (And I--though I was hardly alone--have been saying since the election that she would end up with a cable TV show.)

#236 | Posted by pragmatist

I don't think you're getting it. Did you watch Chris Matthews today? Amazing! They were foaming at the mouth in ridiculing her!! Chris Mathews even was, at one point, even forcing out frustrated laughter. It was fun to watch. It's amazing how MSNBC resembles the Libs on threads like this.

Chris Mathews really hates Palin. Why? Geez!

#238 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis

... Yawn ...

You're still a loser Doc. Pick your battles.

You're so delusional, Eddie, I really hope your caregivers keep you away from anything sharper than your wit.

#239 | Posted by COMMONSENSE
How did you get me being pissed? That is a far stretch, since I said I was not a fan of hers. Maybe next time you will have better luck with the facts. I don't care if she is on is not on fox, I won't be watching her or not watching her. Just seems a big deal to a lot of pants pissers... Prety funny to watch!

#232 | Posted by Eddie

Not only is that imbecilic dunce boring as hell he's also clearly a demented loser suffering from an incurable case of PDS.

Sarvis would make an excellent illustration in a proctology textbook...

One more time, what do what economic numbers you previously quoted have to do with the percentage of people calling themselves lib/con if those numbers haven't really changed over the past 18 years that the graph tracks?

I am amazed at the confidence.

BTW, I didn't say anything about running scared. In fact, the Dems, like you, think that they have America behind them when they don't. We'll see what happens in November.

The first year of Obama was a disaster.

The Stimulus Bill didn't stimulate.
The health care reform bill didn't happen (and won't for a while).
The war is still going and getting worse.
There is now a specter of terrorism in the US.

The first year of Obama was a disaster.

If that was "a disaster" we could use a few more of them.

I don't think you're reading. I said "the liberals here [on DR]." I wasn't talking about Chris Matthews, whom I don't watch and don't give two shits about. The poster to whom I responded might have meant what you mean, but maybe we should both let that poster speak for him/herself.

"There is now a specter of terrorism in the US."

Oh, whatthefuckever. You mean the Detroit thing? Give it a rest, man. Don't you think that 9/11 is a much larger specter that was already here? Never mind that if you're gonna blame Obama for that (which you seem to be doing, at least by implication), you really need to blame Bush for 9/11. Are you ready to do that?

Ouch!

It's ok. Doc is as hard-headed as I am. But he should learn to pick his battles because he's beginning to sound like the idiot BooB Chris Mathews or even worse, Ed Shultz! God, what a mental giant.

What gets me is that in spite of the massive failure in Washington, the Libs still think their people are doing a good job and the heat goes up on ridiculing popular Conservatives. It's laughable!

Freechoice,
I brought it up only because of this quote:

There is NOW a specter of terrorism in the US? He forgot about 2001, 2002, etc.

"Just because Bush Sucked, does not give Obama the right or pass to Suck as well."

No, it doesn't, but Eddie said, "There is NOW a specter of..." (CAPS mine). Now, as in, there wasn't before. Sorry, but terrorists hit their mark eight years, four months, and one day ago. I'm not blaming Bush, but as I just said, if anyone is going to blame Obama for the Nigerian guy, that person better be ready (logically speaking) to blame Bush for 9/11. Hell, Bush was in office for twice as long by then, right?

You quoted the one question from my lengthy post in your retort and then still refuse to answer it. Why is that?

"The Stimulus Bill didn't stimulate."

- Seems many economists would disagree with you and feel that it will take more time and we'd be much worse off without it.

"The health care reform bill didn't happen (and won't for a while)."

- Are you expecting it to pass overnight? It;s one of the biggest legislative changes in 40 years.

"The war is still going and getting worse." -

Afghanistan was always going to be the war that Obama said we would concentrate on. 7 years of War on Bush's watch and Obama is being decried by you for not stopping it all within 12 months? That's funny....AND hypocritical.

"There is now a specter of terrorism in the US."

- Right, because there wasnt any under Bush. Let's play a game of 'neo-con pretend':

(Rules: well, let's make those up as we go along, but since this is the 'neo-con pretend- game, let's use the criteria that FOX News is now using. They simply had to be Muslim people who did it to qualify as a terrrrrritst attack. Easy enough, LET'S PLAY!!

1. Pretned that 9/11 didn't happen.

2. Pretend that the Anthrax attacks never happened.

3. Pretend that the shoe-bomber never happened

4. Pretend that the muslim man who ran over and killed people in his car in n.c. in 2006 never happened.

5. Pretend that the D.C. Snipers never happened

Oh....and since ALL attacks, foiled or not are being levied against Obama, let's go back and pretend that these never happend as well. BTW, I used FOX News as the source.

May 2003, Iyman Faris: American citizen charged with plotting to use blowtorches to collapse the Brooklyn Bridge.

June 2003, Virginia Jihad Network: Eleven men from Alexandria, Va., trained for jihad against American soldiers, convicted of violating the Neutrality Act, conspiracy.

March 2007, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: Mastermind of Sept. 11 and author of numerous plots confessed in court in March 2007 to planning to destroy skyscrapers in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Mohammedalso plotted to assassinate Pope John Paul II and former President Bill Clinton.

May 2007, Fort Dix Plot: Six men accused of plotting to attack Fort Dix Army base in New Jersey. The plan included attacking and killing soldiers using assault rifles and grenades.

September 2007, German authorities disrupt a terrorist cell that was planning attacks on military installations and facilities used by Americans in Germany. The Germans arrested three suspected members of the Islamic Jihad Union, a group that has links to Al Qaeda and supports Al Qaeda's global jihadist agenda.

Hey, Eddie, you moved the goalposts. You said the line about specter of terrorism now, and now you're saying it's only about fear and no one felt fear before that? I don't buy that at all. Really? More people are fearful 'cause of a guy on a plane wearing explosive underwear and coming from where? More than were afraid after the events of 9/11/01? Really? Maybe it's only 'cause I no longer live in NYC, but I don't know anyone, not one person, who's expressing fear more now than 8 years ago, not about terrorism. About economics, yes, and not because of one president or another but because we feel out of control.

OK, I'm sure the Palin fans will think she did just wonderful on O'Reilly tonight, but I found it incredibly painful. She did manage, with O'Reilly's help, to come across as the "saner" of the two. More impressively she did it with massively unbearable grammatical constructions and cliche.

And no, I didn't watch O'Reilly's show on cable, I watched it via youtube.

The truly hilarious moment for me wasn't in the interview, but in the Wall Street Journal's glowing account of the fiasco.

This one's a keeper. Please, keep her! YES!

You can't change my words and say that I said something when I didn't.

The proof is on this thread...

It's time to move on. You're wrong. Get over it.

Didn't read the thread comments. This is a good move for her, IMO. At least for the short term.

She'll have a regular platform to connect with viewers. She's as close to a "rock star" as the Republicans have had in many years. So it's a plus for FOX as well.

This is a good move for her, IMO. ...it's a plus for FOX as well.

And you don't hear the late night comics complaining either.

Win/Win/Win.

Be Well.

Agreed, SPUD.

I know I've probably said this on the DR before... and I know I've shared this with some of my friends - Palin has plenty of energy and some good conservative ideas, but I don't know that she's the best vehicle for delivering that message.

We were playing cards with another conservative couple and I usually remain silent when politics comes up - I want to gauge the tone of things. So after everyone chimed in, my wife said - "so what do you think?"

My answer sort of surprised all of them. In part I said one reason I doubt she'd be a POTUS is that more men would rather sleep with her than take orders from her. Sexist, to be certain, but if she looked more like Margaret Thatcher she'd have a better chance. And that doesn't take into account her rather grating tone.

Palin has plenty of energy and some good conservative ideas, but I don't know that she's the best vehicle for delivering that message.

Best part about Sarah is the fact that she represents a populist approach to government.

She's not a beltway insider.

She never belonged to the Skull and Bones Club and she's connected to some of the righteous anger and indignation of the people.

That makes her real to a lot of conservatives the way other pols can't pull off.

Beyond that she is pretty much politically diametrically opposed to Spud in terms of policy preferences.

On Abortion, energy policy, human rights fer gays, military adventurism, etc we disagree.

She is definitely not an appropriate vehicle for bringing the conservative message to people through national politics. As a talking head on FOX, who knows? She certainly can't do any worse than the loudmouths they have on there now.

While not possessing the necessary wherewithall to be an effective leader she is possessed of the photogenic qualities necessary to be part of the Newsbabe NILF team over on FOX.

/Think that may have been the least abusive post about Scary that Spud ever blogged.
//Meh, Spud's getting soft in his old age.

Be Well.

Misspeak of the year:

"This gives her a platform she can use to stay relevant, to stay in the public eye and to flush out some of her policy positions."

GOP strategist(oxymoron alert) Todd Harris, on Palin.

last night the clips when bill asked her about the 'stupid' play from the left.

three clips.

schutz once more proving what a waste of time he is

matthews proving what a waste of airtime he is

and begayla proving what a waste of human flesh he is...

your texas citizenship is hereby revoked...
your brother can stay since SOME HOW he isnt a hatefull piece of shit when he is on the radio here in houston...

but you can just hang out with rhom while he pracitices his ballet moves..

When several people say one thing and one person says the opposite there can only be one of two things happening. The one person is lying or there's a conspiracy. Admittedly some of those people do have an unfriendly agenda, but not all of them.

If it happens time and time again with a somewhat different group of people then there can only be one of two different things happening. Either it's a very big conspiracy indeed or a lot of delusional denial is going on, and that sounds an awful lot like the state of things in the GOP these last five years or so.

Whaoo Sarah! The left is already panicked! They sure hate someone who tells it like it is! Experience... uhm... how voted "Present" instead of yes or no while in the Senate... who has no executive experience.... uhm... ZERO? What a Joke the Zero is!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHA

Now that's just GREAT debating!

Now, wait a minute. Let's take a deep breath here.

Obama promised to get us out of the war and to bring the economy under control.

We all didn't think that McCain could do that, so the better pick was Obama/OBiden.

We were wrong.

Hind-sight is 20/20. The McCain/Palin administration would have been better because, McCain would have continued on the same as Obama is in "the War". And, the economy would be on the upswing because under McCain, businesses would be spending and hiring rather than pulling back on investment and laying off under Obama.

You're wrong Common. McCain/Palin would be much better than what's happening now.

I think that McCain would have gotten a health reform bill passed by now, but I can't be 100% sure about that.

'The Zero' is now President Of The United States. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

#306 | Posted by COMMONSENSE

Yes, and we are really ANGRY about it.

I am moved to action to get the Liberals and the Left-leaning Republicans out of Washington. Ever heard of the Tea-Party?

to say hindsight is 20/20 and then make a glowing prediction of an alternate reality with simple platitudes in the same sentence is pretty self retorting.

i recall predictions from the right professing a total collapse in gov't and a new revolution if obama were elected. eh, hindsight is 20/20.

I don't think so...

There is a gulf between what Obama promised and how he performing. This is what the Libs are saying. Businesses are not investing and are laying off. Why?

Holy Shit! The govt is spending out of control! Is not focused on the problems we are having...

I see collapse, stredding the Constition, and then a new Socialist state in its place.

Then, you will see revolution.

Look at what Obama's "accomplished" in the first year? Just think, he's got 3 more years to accomplish this!

"I see collapse, stredding the Constition, and then a new Socialist state in its place. "

Blah blah blah.

Here's my sense of reality: If collapse happens, it's been a long time, and the actions of this admin did not bring it about. Maybe hastened, but really, even Adam fucking Smith was not the wizard/seer you are pretending to be.

Shredding the Constitution? Really? I hope you were sounding that knell during the last administration too. If not, you're a fool and a partisan pain in the ass.

Socialist state? Nah, not more than any other industrialized country.

My prediction? Well, I think the HC Reform bill sucks. From what little I know. But I'd like to see deeper reimagining not less. More regulation--Sweden style--or single payer. I think he could fuck it up more and get "fired" in the next election. I seriously doubt a revolution will occur. And I hope it doesn't. And I hope you're not really hoping for one. A sea change in gov't, great--but revolution? Don't we have supposedly the best system in teh world? So shouldn't we use the system to get things the way we want? So go for it--tea party all you want; I applaud activism, even if I don't share the goals. People taking action is how we're supposed to do it here...

Shredding the Constitution? Really? I hope you were sounding that knell during the last administration too.

i voted for Ron Paul.

Why do you jokers only see black and white, Libs and Cons.... err, NeoCons.

It won't occur and I fully recant #312. It's nothing but sarcasm that didn't across as such.

"Why do you jokers only see black and white, Libs and Cons.... err, NeoCons."

I don't, Eddie. I see more than the spectrum most Americans seem to see. Not only are there not just lib/con, but not all dems are libs and not all repus are cons (though some of each should be cons, if you catch my drift). I see more like a grid, where there's tons of overlap.

Why do you insist, despite mounds of evidence to the contrary, that some majority of DR posters are really solidly in one camp or the other?

Anyway, thanks for the Ron Paul comment. I'll take that to mean that indeed you were sounding the same knell during the last administration. (Ron Paul's an interesting guy for various reasons. He seems to be the Republican counterpart to Dennis Kucinich.)

I'm for a smaller Fed government and Bush grew it way out of control and I was hoping that the next administration would get it under control. Ain't going to happen, I don't think.

Well, it didn't help that Bush left Obama with two wars and a global economic meltdown. You'd think an eight year president who came in with a surplus wouldn't have doubled the debt by running a structural deficit and wouldn't have wrecked the economy to epic proportions, but go figure the Republicans.

EDDIE

If your ex wife maxed out your credit cards and you were left with a gob of interest and other reoccurring expenses that'll keep you heavily in debt, then you lost a lot of your income (recession caused unnemployment and falling tax revenues) would you blame yourself or your idiot ex wife?

Look at what Obama's "accomplished" in the first year? Just think, he's got 3 more years to accomplish this!

Yes, let's take a look at Obama's promises kept, since it is apparent that you haven't done your homework.
