A California judge ordered the return of 60 pounds of pot to a man Friday because a state law gave him the right to transport it. During a highway stop, Saguro Doven was found with pot in individual bags that were tucked inside a larger duffel bag. He's a member of a Venice-based medical marijuana collective.

If California is anything like Florida the problem will now be "finding" that marijauna. It is a known FACT that lots of cops sell evidence all the time or smoke it themselves.

cops sell evidence all the time or smoke it themselves

In that case, the court should order the cops to grow him 60 more pounds of the sticky icky.

Give me sativa or give me death!!!

Cops always have the best drugs.

With news like this I need a drink and some tabacco.

"It is a known FACT that lots of cops sell evidence all the time or smoke it themselves."

Citation, please? I'd dearly love to see legitimate proof of that and the definition of "lots".

So are you denying it happens quite often???

the cops don't like competition.

60lbs? That's a pretty driven copper to steal that much. The ones I know would have pinched a portion of that 60, but never the whole thing.

I used to work for a guy who had been a Coast Guard officer.

They busted a freighter load of marijuana and stacked it on the dock under armed guard.

He said after a couple of weeks it looked like a huge piece of cheese that a mice had chewed on.

Everybody in the squad that wanted it got a pound or so, including himself.

a mice = a mouse

On the day of the Oakland Hills fire the ocean was flat with rare winds blowing onto the water in Half Moon Bay. I was out fishing and drinking in a 14' inflatable. A Coast Guard helicopter started swooping us and I waved. The Pumpkin Festival was in full swing, which didn't quite explain bumper to bumper cars parked along the coast. When we made it back to the harbor black smoke was pouring over the foothills and the harbor was teaming with cops, who looked over our boat as we trailered it. There was a Columbian frieghter tied up in the harbor. The Coast Guard had been chasing them all night as they threw their cargo overboard. Scavengers covered the coast like flies. I found out later that my fishing buddies brother in law found a bale and paid for graduate school with it.

something I & my brother would have done in 1971. By 1975 my viewpoints had shifted dramatically, but still this is pretty funi ~ since the little gets to make a buck from the big guy's snafu:>)

IMO, the solution is to legalize pot all together and tax it. And for those of you puritans out there, I also believe that the sale or distribution of Cocain, crystal meth, and the like ought to be considered capital crimes. No more gray lines.

And, the police returned all 30lbs to him.

The End.

grow yer own!

Sounds like an episode of "Weeds" to me.

That is a little ridicules. I believe no grower is allowed to grow 60 pounds of pot in california. They are limited to some threshold.

Wow and they gave it back! Man why couldn't they have done this when I still smoked it??????

"So are you denying it happens quite often???"

I didn't deny anything, I asked for a source for your accusation...oh, don't have one, yeah, didn't think so.

"I didn't deny anything, I asked for a source for your accusation...oh, don't have one, yeah, didn't think so."

I don't give a crap about what you asked for, we all know it goes on every day. If you want to pretend differently then be my guest.

god bless you california. i'll smoke a bowl right now, in celebration. i hope n.c. takes notice of this. i hope they do.

god bless california. amber waves of grace.

Spud's got LOTS!

Making drugs illegal has not made society safer, in fact, it's main effect seems to have been to corrupt the police.

Legalize marijuana NOW.

Be Well.

Of course you don't give a crap, because you'll believe what you believe despite evidence or the truth. That is how ignorant fools live.

Does it happen? Sure it happens, is it the norm, no, it's not the norm. Personally, I agree with the legalization of marijuana, but not ignorant accusations painted with a broad brush.

Slam dunk Spud!!

It was blueberry yum yum and it da fire.

Thank God for the judge that put it in my hood

#22 Danni> I don't give a crap about what you asked for, we all know it goes on every day. If you want to pretend differently then be my guest.

Translation: I make up crap all the time and when called on it, I attack the person who asked for a cite.

Danni cannot define "lots" and "happens quite often", either.

"Translation: I make up crap all the time and when called on it, I attack the person who asked for a cite."

hahahaha, exactly.

Maybe the best answer is to legalize all drugs. Former Chief of Police Norm Stamper makes a compelling argument.
