Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Rudy Giuliani has joined fellow Republicans Dana Perino and Mary Matalin in forgetting that the 9/11 attacks happened under President Bush. On Good Morning America Friday, the former New York mayor declared, "We had no domestic attacks under Bush; we've had one under Obama." Not only does the statement suggest Giuliani does not remember the devastating attack in his own city, it also omits the anthrax attacks and the attempted shoe bomber attack.

Guiliani - almost as dumb as Palin.

How can Rudy "Noun Verb 9/11" Giuliani forget about 9/11?

I think Guiliani is developing alzheimers. Oh now the right can idolize him even more and promote him to the status of god like President Turnip.

Apparently Richard Reid the 12/22/01 shoe-bomber and the September 2001 Anthrax attacks occured before Bush took office on 1/20/2001...must've been Clinton's watch.

Just another example of selective right wing ding memory when revising history.

As much as he used it in his POTUS campaign, how could he forget it?

911, 911, 911 911

This morning on MSNBC Giuliani repeated this absurd contention. There was a pause before he added since 9/11 (conveniently forgetting Richard Reid).

I'd like to know what "since 9/11" is the beginning of the unit of measurement in which we look at this aspect of reality.

As I recall, 9/11 was a doozey. So what he should probably say is, "Thank God we haven't had another disaster like the (so far)unprecedented horrors of the 9/11 attacks."

"forget that the September 11th attacks happened under President Bush."

Some people cannot comprehend the English language and totally miss the meaning of words. They tend to take every statement of their adversaries word-for-word regardless of true meaning or point being made. Maybe English is their second language.

The man who decided to put NY's emergency response center in the WTC should STFU. The man who prevented the purchase of radios which would have enabled first responders to communicate with each other on 9-11 should STFU.

Wow, that's the most fucking retarded thing I've read so far in 2010.

How many attacks have we had in the last 12 months? The panty bomber was an attack, but diverted by just plain dumb luck. The fuse didn't work properly.

And Reid's shoe failed to explode. (Dumb luck, as you say.) So I guess that leaves us with 9/11.

Some people cannot comprehend the English language and totally miss the meaning of words.

So enlighten us as to just what the meaning of these words are.....

"We had no domestic attacks under Bush; we've had one under Obama."

Here is a bit of advice....

Never go full retard.

So I guess that leaves us with 9/11.

And that was dumb luck to use it as an excuse to invade Iraq.

Let's also not forget the anthrax attacks that happened right after 9/11 and then mysteriously stopped when the Patriot Act was passed.

Orwellian Newspeak. Repeat something over and over
again and people will accept it as fact.

Giuliani is Right!

There were no terrorist attacks anywhere while GW was in Charge!

In fact, terrorism was defeated worldwide by the League of the Right Wing Radio Heroes only to resurge on November 5th 2008 when Obama and the liberals stole America.

Giuliani Rocks, his super powers are exceptionally awesome!

Sincerely

murpnanc

Something only a brain dead loyal Rethuglican can believe. Its not just 9-11, its 8-10 subsequent attacks by Muslims which are being mischaracterized as something other than terrorism. Same bullshit way they report the unemployment rate.

What for example is the difference between the shoe bomber and crotch bomber? First under Shrub, second under Obama.

WTF?? 9/11, 9/11, 9/11 . . .!

Giuliani is an idiot. This seals the deal. He can't even throw out talking points correctly.

its perfectedly understandable why you punks are all over rudy on this...many of you are TRUTHERS and have no cred in calling anyone stupid because of that.

HOWEVER...we all know the inference here is post 9/11...you dont want to see that AGAIN because you blame bush for 9/11

AND all in the face of THREE TERRORIST ATTACKS under obama's 'watch'

little rock recruiter
FOURTENN dead in killeen

and PURELY BY LUCK ..there werent THREE HUNDRD PEOPLE DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD in detroit

AND ALL UNDER OBAMAS WATCH.......

Giuliani was also overheard saying that he
ran an historic presidential campaign in
2008. That his wait til Florida strategy
proved pivitol...I mean pitiful.

Also, don't forget his tome, Divorce for Dummies
whose strategies he used when he left Donna
Hanover.

How about his Hair Club for Men unique style.
Many men still ask for the Mr. Softee swirl when they visit
their stylist.

He can't even throw out talking points correctly.

If he were the only one saying that I would believe that statement. But there are too many of the same old fear merchants out there portraying Baby Bush as the protector of the free world and that nothing bad happened under his watch.

They are laying the groundwerk to run a candidate as incompetent as he was ... maybe even Mayor Mooseville in 2012.

War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.

Go change your depends.

Shit you are hysterical.

"Let's also not forget the anthrax attacks that happened right after 9/11 and then mysteriously stopped when the Patriot Act was passed."

Mysteriously only Democrats in Congress were recipients. Coincidence I tell you, just another coincidence.

"726" thanks for saving us all that unnecessary typing

oops I did it again

"HOWEVER...we all know the inference here is post 9/11..."

And that's not even true. Anthrax. Shoe bomber was basically the same thing as the underwear guy and he's calling that an attack.

Plus, if you are counting terror attacks why wouldn't you count 9/11? Its the biggest attack on the US in our history. The president at the time is a matter of historical record. I could see if you want to say "The president is not directly repsonsible for terror attacks that occur during his term. The motive for any attack probably goes back years or decades or even centuries. The flaws in our security apparatus that are exploited during these attacks were there for years as well. And on some level, the CIC needs to be able to depend on the people under him to do their jobs." I don't agree with all of that arguement, but its rational. But what is completely irrational is what you and Guillianni want to do, which is to say "Presidents are directly responsible for terror attacks that occur under their watch unless were are talking about 9/11 and Dubya." If that makes sense to you, you need help.

...we all know the inference here is post 9/11

Another pearl of wisdom from the #1 cheerleader of President The Buck Stops Somewhere Else.

Peddle your revisionist history on FreeRepublic.com, they just may be dumb enough to believe you Rudy 9/11.

Just as bad is that George Stephanapatool didn't call him out on it.
That wacky, liberal corporate media! So biased.

2001 anthrax attacks. A March 2004 State Department report on "Significant Terrorist Incidents, 1961-2003" quotes then-Attorney General John Ashcroft saying of the letters containing anthrax mailed to various targets: "When people send anthrax through the mail to hurt people and invoke terror, it's a terrorist act." Five people were killed as a result of those letters in the autumn of 2001.

2001 shoe bomber attempted attack. In June 2008, then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff described Reid's December 2001 attempt "to blow up a trans-Atlantic plane with a shoe bomb" as an attempt to "carry out terrorist operations for Al-Qaeda."

2002 attack against El Al ticket counter at LAX. In July 2002, Hesham Mohamed Hadayet opened fire at an El Al Airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport killing two people and wounding four others before being shot dead. A 2004 Justice Department report stated that Hadayet's case had been "officially designated as an act of international terrorism."

2002 DC-area sniper. The state of Virginia indicted Washington, D.C.-area sniper John Allen Muhammad -- along with his accomplice, a minor at the time -- on "an act of terrorism" for one of the murders he committed during a three-week shooting spree across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Muhammad was convicted, sentenced to death, and subsequently executed for the crime.

2006 UNC SUV attack. In March 2006, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill graduate Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar drove an SUV into an area of campus, striking nine pedestrians. According to reports, Taheri-azar said he acted because he wanted to "avenge the deaths or murders of Muslims around the world." Taheri-azar also reportedly stated in a letter: "I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohammad Atta, one of the 9/11/01 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree."

Shit you are hysterical.

no comment..just a little something from my morning reads.

How many attacks have we had in the last 12 months?

One less than under Bush during his first year.

But, in fairness, that's not counting the domestic rightwing terrorist attacks since Obama became President. Can't keep up with your nutjob fellow righties.

Poor RudiG.I hopehis wife called him to set him straight. Or one of his mistresses.

Or one of his gay former roommates.

"We had no domestic attacks under Bush..."

Well technically that part is correct. Bush was not hoovering OVER the World Trade Center when the attack occurred so, therefore, ipso facto no attacks occurred UNDER Bush.

We (the U.S.) have been bombing, killing, maiming, and forcing civilian, non combatant refugees out of their homes for 8 years now. For good or bad, thats who we are and what we have chosen to be.

Grow up America. There is no such thing as a one sided war where the big superpower bombs and kills, but never suffers attacks themselves.

Homeland losses are inevitable in a 21st century war.

Back and forth attacks and retaliatory strikes are the norm in wartime, and are not, as we like to believe, entirely preventable.

If we are gonna cry like little bitches about the other side engaging in attacks, we prolly dont have a real good understanding of how this war thingy actually works.

The days when our enemies could not attack the homeland are behind us.

Man up and admit that our own friends and families are going to have to bear risks associated with nations at war if we intend to be at war.

Only W is dumb enough to expect a war effort will have no implications on the physical security of the US home land.

Attacks will continue. We wont be able to escape reaping what we have sown.

Buy a nice black suit and be ready for some funerals if you wanna be a nation at war into perpetuity.

Well said.

Once again here to prove that MORON can be a verb too.

HOWEVER...we all know the inference here is post 9/11...you dont want to see that AGAIN because you blame bush for 9/11

Of course we do. He was to blame. If not, who? Remember Bushlovertoo, Bush had 52 warnings about 9-11, Obama none about the panty bomber. So if Obama is responsible for the panty bomber, (same number as Bush had for Reid and the anthrax killers) that makes Bush responsible for Reid, the anthrax killers AND the worst domestic security failure in American history-9-11.

Responsibility and the right-like reality and the right, mutually exclusive....

Is this what she meant when she said the system is working perfectly asplanned?

Face it, you're a hack and easily debunked.

NEXT!

I know one thing---as the attacks increase (which they will) you may see a 180 degree change in Obama's rhetoric--it's starting already--placation and appeasement of "bad guys" and "evil" (remember that word?) throughout history has never helped and won't this time either. The enemy sees weakness in Obama and they smell blood and the attacks will become more frequent--tough decisions and action will have to replace soothing rhetoric.

Obama just spent a ton of money on them. One could ask, aflac, why didn't Dubya install them in the 7 years following 9-11? That $40 billion- 6 months to the victory parade liberator deal run a little over budget?

Or is this just another example of Republican Are God's Perfect Children, the Gospel according to Bushlovertoo?

After 3,000 people were KILLED not ONE, NADA Yes sir Not a Fucking one was asked to leave.....So you dumb Fucks asking for all of the Obama team to leave because some jerk off coming from Holland snuck thru, GROW FUCKING UP, NO ONE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO STOP EVERY CASE OF TEROR NO ONE!!!!!!!! If anyone tells you that it can be done, they are Fucking lying to you, so get a fucking life, an try to be an American for once not a fucking Fox-Republican !!!!!

What a dumbass. Giuliani's so discredited the 9/11 attack with his cheap disgusting overuse of it he can't even remember when it actually happened.

Given the giddiness, I'm beginning believe that many republicans want to see the country attacked again simply to use it against our President.

I never thought I'd say that, but after the shit since Christmas Day, it's rather creepy how genuinely excited republicans now are......and forgetful.

Reality eludes you once again Flutey-Toots.

Obama has spent a over a billion on them to date.

Tell us why, in the 7 years after the WORST TERRORIST attack on U.S. soil (which really did happen on Dumbya's watch, regardless of what Trudy claims) did Bush not spend the money and have these installed?

The question seems to be . . . why didn't George Bush take more stringent steps to prevent another al Quaeda operative from gaining access to an airliner?

Well, since Cheney was the one leading the parade to perpetual war, I surmise that he was leaving open the option to call another strike if he thought we needed another jolt as an excuse to ramp up the war in the direction of Iran.

The mission of PNAC (World domination by military force) is sitting dormant at the moment but not forgotten by warmongers like Dick Cheney who doesn't give a second thought about how many Americans have to die for him.

Not in th World Trade Center . . . and not in Iraq.

The man is hard wired for war. Goons like Giuliani are earning their I.O.U.s for the next sock puppet the neo-cons can find to regain control and continue the march to WWIII.

Giuliani will also tell you that the
NYPD, under his command, never killed
any innocent New Yorkers. If you ask
him about Amadou Diallo, Anthony Baez
or Patrick Dorismand he'll respond with,
who?

Bush had a total of five inspired/from in 8 years. And the gov't was in a learning curve on how to detect and respond. Hence, we now go shoeless through airport scanners and mail is irradiated. (NB: Anthrax attack still unknown as source.)

We're up to four inspired/from IslFundies under Obama...in less than 12 months.

Are we going commando through scanners next? (Gotta love government idiocy.)

And we still have until the 19th to make a full year...

----

Takeaway:
Bad guys smart and creative.
Bureaucracies slow and inefficient.
Obama is still perceived as representing "the great Satan" aka U.S.
Obama administration perceived as weak and lax by AlQ on terror.

from Al-Q (friggin fingers of typo)

Obama administration perceived as weak and lax by AlQ on terror.

That's a typical right wing talking point with no basis wotsoever in reality.

Unless, of course, you've been sitting in on top level AQ meetings recently and brought the minutes with you or sommat.

In which case you might wanna also pass on some info to the authorities as to their whereabouts and such.

Be Well.

You are right. He was wrong about the panty bomber. There would have been 300 dead on the plane and how many on the ground?

I think there is a wet spot on the front of your dress so you better change yours.

Americans must awaken to the fact that unless we
adopt the Israeli mentality when it comes to security we will never be safe. The politicization of this issue is offensive and its a game both sides play.

We have to reconcile the fact that the government cannot provide complete protection and safety.
NYC has the best large city police force in the world, yet crime still occurs. If someone wants
to cause havoc there's a good chance they will succeed.

9/11 was not Bush's fault or Clinton's fault. The Ft.Hood mass murderer and the pantie bomber were not Obama's fault. The responsibility for security begins with each individual American citizen and we
need to be on full alert at all times. The passengers
on that Detroit bound Delta flight understood that
clearly and acted accordingly. Its time to stop
laying blame and start taking action.

HOWEVER...we all know the inference here is post 9/11...you dont want to see that AGAIN because you blame bush for 9/11
