Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Last spring three American Evangelicals, whose work had been discredited in the US, billed themselves as experts on homosexuality and gave a series of talks on "that gay agenda--that whole hidden and dark agenda" to Ugandan police officers, teachers and politicians. Now those three Americans, who spoke on "the threat homosexuals posed to Bible-based values and the traditional African family," are saying it was not their intention to encourage the Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009, a bill which imposes the death penalty for homosexual behavior. "That's horrible, absolutely horrible," said Don Schmierer, one of the Evangelicals who lectured to the Ugandans. "Some of the nicest people I have ever met are gay people."

This is what you get when you have 100% Jesus Free churches.

These cocksuckers need to fry in hell for eternity. Preferable starting real soon. Hell, roast the entire Family.

I would bet large sums of money that all 3 are as bent as Larry Craig.

experts on homosexuality

hehehe

Uganda has a terrible history of state-sponsored sexual violence and religious extremism. This is just the latest chapter.

Zombie, I wonder how far back the Family's affiliation and influence goes?

Oh, here's my answer:

A near-nightly subject of cable news programs led by MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show, the Family has cultivated relationships over decades with Ugandan political leaders, ostensibly in order to export its brand of fundamentalism to the developing nation. David Bahati, a Ugandan politician and the author of the bill, is a Family member who organizes the Ugandan equivalent of the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast the latter being an annual event that's become a staple of Beltway politics and has been attended by every sitting U.S. president since 1953.

Uganda has a terrible history

There's an absolutely adorable (and precocious!) little boy with a television show right after Olbermann's who once had a piece entitled "Uganda be Kidding Me".

He was mad about them executing homosexuals or something....

I think its cute when youngsters are so engaged in politics...and can come up with such clever little plays on words.

Holy shit.

I was beat to the reference!

I thought the Family was pretty scary last year when I learned about them after discovering Hillary Clinton attended their prayer meetings, but the more I learn about them the more I think these people are dangerous:

We already noted the religious right-wing's support of making Uganda a home base for homophobia, but now comes word that America's own Christian politicos are backing President Yoweri Museveni's campaign to make gay sex punishable by death.

As Jeff Sharlot, author of the expose The Family, tells it, the bill's biggest supporter is a member of The Family. David Bahati, the lawmaker pushing for aggravated homosexuality crimes, "appears to be a core member of The Family. He works, he organizes their Ugandan National Prayer Breakfast and oversees a African sort of student leadership program designed to create future leaders for Africa, into which The Family has poured millions of dollars working through a very convoluted chain of linkages passing the money over to Uganda."

Zombie, I wonder how far back the Family's affiliation and influence goes?

I'm always a skeptic of conspiracy theories involving influential secret societies and the like. It's usually exaggerated. It seems like every day there is a new group of religious pricks who want to change the world. They pick the low-hanging fruit, and in this case I imagine The Family exploited a pre-existing situation in Uganda.

The Family seems to be the exception that proves the rule, though. They have been trying to meddle in domestic and international affairs for awhile and unlike the majority of superstitious cocksuckers they have stuck around for awhile. How successful they've been is a matter of opinion, though. One thing is certain - The Family and likeminded organizations must not only be opposed... they must be exposed and systematically dismantled before they have the opportunity to become too powerful.

....like the corporations.

You wouldn't believe some of the shit Monsanto gets away with.

But you'll never hear it from your corporate cocksucker "media".

The family is another dangerous cult.

They have power behind closed doors and as such are an affront to the American people and to this nation that makes no constitutional preference for religious belief.

I hope this Uganda fiasco comes back to bite them in their collective asses and then perhaps we won't be seeing or hearing of their future influences in our capital halls.

I hope this Uganda fiasco comes back to bite them in their collective asses

I hope they try to pull the same shit in Western Africa and get impaled or infected with Lassa.

Or, alternatively, Homeland Security could dismantle The Family by investigating their material support for a Christian terrorist organization called the "Lord's Resistance Army". They operate in Uganda and are on the list of terrorist groups recognized by the US.

Yep, Kony is another dicktator bent on securing his own personal domain. The UN has charged him with crimes, along with four of his minion. UN rep Englend met with him back in 2006 I think and nothing further I know of has happened. He won't come out of hiding because he fears arrest buy the Ugandan government supported by the international criminal court system.

More atrocities towards children...in another ugly civil war.

Where did you find info on material support for them from the Family? I'd be interested in reading it.

Thanks.
