Ten days after the failed attempt to explode a bomb onboard Northwest Flight 253 as it approached Detroitan action that, if successful, would have killed nearly 300 peoplethere are mounting questions about the actions of US government agencies.

According to the official story, propagated by the Obama administration and uncritically parroted by the US media, the various components of the US national security apparatus were incapable of bringing together the following known facts:

Bingo!

"No intelligent person can believe the official US government account of its failure to stop the attempted bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight 253. The claim that US intelligence agencies were unable to detect the bomb plot, despite so many warnings months in advance, is simply not credible."

Well, that certainly explains Janet Napolitano.

Not to mention British MI5 intelligence three years ago.

I only saw her on 3 talk shows on the Sunday after Xmas, and I'd say plump in a dykish sort of way.

People screw up. Obama admitted that, but if I understand this article correctly, the author is implying the US government deliberately hid knowledge it had of an impending attack.

Sorry---But if wouldn't go to this strange, dark place in regards to George W. Bush, a man I knew wanted to pick fights, I won't go there with Obama.

Things like this happen because of a cascade of poor decisions over some period of time, many by people so low down on the pecking order we never get to know their names.

I'm still wondering how this fellow blames anyone in the US for what happens in airports in Nigeria, of all places. You can get literally anything in Nigeria with a simple bribe. Anything.

If there's a call to block all direct and indirect air traffic from Nigeria, I could go with that.

But people seemed focused in on remaining stupid. If this author worked in national security, he'd be one of the folks he's now talking about.

"Sorry---But if wouldn't go to this strange, dark place in regards to George W. Bush, a man I knew wanted to pick fights, I won't go there with Obama."

There's absolutely no evidence to support Obama being any more anti-war than Bush. Bush lied to get us into wars. Obama lied about stopping wars to get elected.

"Obama lied about stopping wars to get elected...."

Like I said: strange, dark places. The author of this article came out and suggested Obama set-up this terrorist attack to succeed.

I think that's stupid and silly, and says much more about his psychological state, or any who find credence in him, than anything else.

As for what Obama "lied" about---I listened to the man more than once state he'd reinforce Afghanistan. I voted for him anyway, because I agreed with his analysis regarding what went wrong in Afghanistan.

"I think that's stupid and silly, and says much more about his psychological state, or any who find credence in him, than anything else."

True. But it was stupid to say Bush set up 9/11 too. And I loathe Bush much more than I dislike Obama. My point is that by his actions, Obama is no more anti-war than Bush so if you think Bush being pro-war makes him likely to set up a terror attack then Obama's pro-war stance should say the same thing about him. Apply the same standards to both.

"As for what Obama "lied" about---I listened to the man more than once state he'd reinforce Afghanistan. I voted for him anyway, because I agreed with his analysis regarding what went wrong in Afghanistan. "

He quite obviously lied about his intentions in Iraq. And he's wrong about Afghanistan. We needed more troops there when we had the enemy trapped in Tora Bora. The enemy is gone. We need zero troops there now. No amount troops can make a foolish exercise in nation building with people who have a religious hatred of us successful.

But the reason he lost my vote was by going along with Bush's bailouts (which he then expanded, cemented that I made the correct decision in my mind).

"But the reason he lost my vote was by going along with Bush's bailouts....."

I think the stimulus provided by BOTH presidents was probably the only thing keeping us from having an official unemployment rate of 30% plus at this moment. In this belief I'm joined by not a few mainstream economists.

"He's wrong about Afghanistan...."

He may be. My opinion is withdrawal would have been best. But specify he never lied about what he would do.

In terms of Iraq, we seem to be getting out of the place. That's the minimum I wanted personally. And, truth be know, it's a good thing, not a bad thing.

"True. But it was stupid to say Bush set up 9/11 too"

I agree. Sec Mineta's video testimony implicates Cheney far more than any other player in the obvious coverup so far....
