Only 19 U.S. airports have received sophisticated imaging machines that can detect explosives hidden in clothing. The scanners are able to detect weapons and explosives in places security screeners are not allowed to touch in physical pat-down searches, such as the groin area and even body cavities where items could be concealed.

Why not use a fire-hose on the public? Strip them and just turn the hose on.

Then let them get on the plane.

This is the only way to get zero risk... and a lot cheaper too.

Another way to end sabotage and hijack attempts.. or at least make them far less dramatic is to bring back the air-ships.

It's a more relaxing way to fly and far less dangerous in many ways. 80 grams of PETN can't bring one down. LOL

It also doesn't need large airports.. which will deprive the terriers from focusing on a single target to break through.

Why not use a fire-hose on the public? Strip them and just turn the hose on.

Will the winner of the wet T-shirt contest get to fly for free?

Hijacking a blimp is like hijacking a school-bus.

No self respecting, glory seeking, terrier wants to attack a stupid blimp.

Will the winner of the wet T-shirt contest get to fly for free?

T-shirt? What t-shirt?

What was that Bruce Willis sci-fi movie? 5th Element?

You get on a plane and the stewardess puts you to sleep. She can then fuck around and not have to give you attention for the rest of the flight. LOL

5th Element

You get on a plane and the stewardess puts you to sleep. She can then fuck around and not have to give you attention for the rest of the flight.

I'd put Milla Jovovich to sleep and fuck around with her the rest of the flight.

I'd put Milla Jovovich to sleep...

Yer so dull you could put a cokehead with a three pots of coffee inside of him to sleep in well under a minute.

Just a theory, mind you.

Got no real data to back that one up at present.

^_^

Be Well.

So yer saying that Rush sLimeball is safe from terrorist attack?

Phew!

Bet he'll be relieved to hear that.

Have you seen her new movie? "Perfect Getaway"?

Damn nice movie. You will like it for sure.

Who's this guy? Should I know him?

Who's this guy? Should I know him?

Nobody should.

Too many do.

Sorry, but when you said "Stupid Blimp" the first thing Spud thought of was THIS ignorant, racist tub of goo.

Prolly not alone there.

Rush Limbaugh *is* a big, fat, lying idiot.

I suppose the scanners can see anal cavities compacted with shit. That's a cavity search I would love to see.

Now I'm curious too. LOL

Nice propaganda piece from the NBC affiliate out of Dallas. Houston has already had this in place, but it is still legal to refuse it.

I'm feeling much safer now

LR's link: "TSA Clears Illegal Immigrants To Work At NY Airport"

LR, illegals are just doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do... and I don't want to look at lardass after lardass walk through a backscatter machine.

#19 z
That's how they have justified all illegal immigrant policies. Would it be considered "jobs Americans don't want" when Arrow Trucking management returns by hiring illegals at 1/4 wages?

In light of recent events, should we feel safer knowing that the TSA trusted agent (history) is given to Central America or Mexican nationals?

Why would anyone object to these machines? It's no secret I have a pair of testicles, a penis, and an ass under my trousers and everyone knows what those things look like.

Maybe I could get a job operating the scanner. I'm sure TMZ would pay for the scans of some of the celebs.

#21 goat
Do you really want to re-hash your
staunch delusion of denial again?

You were justifying TSA measures by stating you haven't seen any more incidents or shoe bombers. Now you have. So why the continued delusion? It's the big neo-con lie!

You were justifying TSA measures by stating you haven't seen any more incidents or shoe bombers. Now you have. So why the continued delusion?

It is you who is delusional if you think that it is possible to mitigate 100% of terrorist acts. Just because we can attain only 99.99% secure air travel does not mean we abandon security completely and throw the baby out with the bathwater

I stand by my original statement.

#24 goat
It is you who is delusional if you think that it is possible to mitigate 100% of terrorist acts

Really. Who's delusional here? We should keep stepping up security measures on the American people when the existing policies are continually overlooked or side-stepped.

Just recent history demonstrates:
1. Incident in Houston pushed under the rug
2. Leaked TSA manual shows many deficiencies
3. Christmas incident
a. Lone Straggley "Kid" redeems $2400 one-way ticket to Detroit while on Watch List
b. Shepherded past security by much older sharp dressed man
c. Suspect filmed on complete trip by unknown person
d. Incident starts fire on board
e. Official story is another 'intelligence failure' like 9-11
f. Possible accomplice denied until many witnesses tell contradictory story
g. No interest in identifying sharp dressed man
h. Witnesses state no interest in finding videographer
i. Story becomes second suspect detained for immigration violation
j. New policies state nothing allowed on lap, no movement for hour before landing, mandatory patdowns
k. Propaganda pushes for scanning technology and possible shock bracelets (like 'Running Man')
l. TSA soon to be in your local malls, bus stops, rails, schools, etc.
m. Justifies new war with Yemen, others (though already implemented day before)

LRCon v. Goatman: Battle of the Amazing Mental Midgets

#26 moder8

As a troller to this thread, what credibility do you have? What's wrong? Sour grapes over posting slam in your thread?

I wonder if these body scanners will have separate lines -- one only for women and one only for men. Not many women are going to want to have some guy working behind the scanner when they have to pass through security. At least not with these new full body scanners.

LRCon v. Goatman: Battle of the Amazing Mental Midgets

A rebuttal that simply calls someone a mental midget and offers nothing of substance pegs the irony meter, even when set on its maximum range.

Good partisan based hatred work (as usual!) moder-h8 LOL

Serious question, moder-h8 -- don't you find the angst that consumes your life distracting? What about the conflict of calling yourself a member of the "party of compassion and tolerance" while constantly spewing hatred in so many posts? Isn't that hard to reconcile?

No rebuttal intended. Just pointing out a humorous fact. Deal with it. (Or don't deal with it. I don't care.)

#25 You still miss my point. It seems you are saying if we can't guarantee 100% safety in the air we shouldn't implement any protection measures. I say any measure that pushes the safety factor closer to 100% (though admittedly never attainable) is good. Yes, there will always be someone clever enough to cheat whatever measures are in place, but I don't see that as a reason to stop trying to improve security as you do.

Again, I don't see the point of throwing the baby out with the bathwater which is your stance on airline safety.

No rebuttal intended. Just pointing out a humorous fact.

There is no need to point out you are full of partisan hatred. That's been obvious for years. And unlike you, most of us see no humor in it.

Continue your hatred on one thread, then go to another one and tell us how compassionate and tolerant you and your party are. Now that's humorous. LOL

My personal belief that you are an ass has nothing to do with partisan hatred, or intolerance in general. It is merely an observation based on reading your posts for the last several years.

Rush sLimeball
Who's this guy? Should I know him?

.......he is a famous American drug addict, who is known for taking sex vacations with little boys in the Dominican Republic......

......but he eats so much that he is fat and can't get a hard on, and needs Viagra even when he is chasing cabin boys around the pool........

......his other claim to fame is the size of his head, it is the same size and weight as a Volkswagen Golf......with the bigger engine......

what credibility do you have?

A paranoid fool who eagerly gnaws whatever bone Alex Jones throws his way is in no position to question another person's credibility.

Skizziks, don't go telling Tosser about Rush. He doesn't need any more reasons to hate America.

It is merely an observation based on reading your posts for the last several years.

You've proven that your observations are based on partisan hatred since you never spew your bile at a lefty who with similiar posting habits of mine. So you'll just have pardon me if I take hour highly biased "observations" with a grain of salt.

Proof: Exactly what did I say on this thread that prompted your post #26?

Exactly. My point is made.

As I said, spew your hate, show your compassion, spew your hate, show your compassion. It's funny as hell to watch your Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde routine.

Screw the scanners - just discontinue all flights from the Middle East and don't let people from those countries come here any more. This is war, dammit.

In WWII, were we issuing tourist and student visas to Germans? Fuck no.

the war on terror is nothing more than a corporate scam for profit.

khomeini would never have come into power without cia help.

#32 goat
I say any measure that pushes the safety factor closer to 100%.... Again, I don't see the point of throwing the baby out with the bathwater which is your stance on airline safety.

You haven't heard my stance on airline safety. The current system is a complete failure. It isn't enough that they now provide a "license to travel". There is a huge conflict of interest in "intelligence failures" that is a convenient incrementally strengthening of their police state control grid to all transportation and public venues.

The "baby" to be thrown out is Napolitano and the "bathwater" is the TSA. The airlines absent government intrusion would do a better job. Corruption and conflict of interest would be virtually removed. Any incident that occurs arguably would have occured anyhow with insider help whether staged or provocateured patsy events. Perhaps with removal of government power-grab control mechanism, there would eventually not be a motivation for these event to continue.

Why would anyone object to these machines? It's no secret I have a pair of testicles, a penis, and an ass under my trousers and everyone knows what those things look like.

Wait till your scan video makes it to YouTube with your name on it.

Then you might object. LOL

Do realize, that the people doing the scanning are on minimum wage and make as much as a burger-flipper. Such folk are bored and mean and YouTube is for free.

I have no problem with a scanner being able to see my stuff. As many righties use to say, and I paraphrase 'it should only bother you if you've got something to hide'. I'm still much more concerned with someone's ability to mess with my personal finances than I am about someone seeing me naked.

#41 Thanks L, I understand your position better

#43 I agree with you. I don't give a fuck who sees my stuff. I'd run around naked if it was warm enough and legal. BFD

Just spent two months out in Albuquerque and when I came back, I had to go through something called a Millimeter Wave scanner. I stepped into this Phone booth looking thing, placed my feet on the yellow footprints painted on the floor and placed my hands behind my head as I was told (it felt like I was about to be cuffed) and then this scanner goes goes all the way around (took less than 5 seconds). I stepped out as instructed and then stood on another set of footprints. I then heard "Male Confirmed" over the walkie-talkie the woman was holding and she then waved me through.

"Male Confirmed"? I'm thinking this was the machine that shows off all the goods.

They had one of these in ABQ Airport but i didn't see any when I left Logan back in October.

As for what exactly a Millimeter Wave scanner does to your insides, I don't know, but everyday I try to shoot a web from my wrist with no luck.

The airlines absent government intrusion would do a better job.

Do you really believe that?

Do you actually think that if they didn't have to PAY for all of this screening that the airlines would simply do it on their own?

He doesn't need any more reasons to hate America.

LOL

I do have some concerns about this kind of equipment and radiation (which might be totally unfounded), but not so much concern about privacy. It's just a human body.

if they lure Rush to Tosser's village

Tosser lives in one of the largest cities in the world, but I have no doubt Karachi would chew Limbaugh up and shit out the bones a week later.

It would be far more hilarious to maroon the fat fucker in the most desolate part of the FATA with a bottle of rum and a pistol with one shot.

As for what exactly a Millimeter Wave scanner does to your insides

Millimeter waves carry less energy per photon than visible light. It's somewhere between infrared and microwaves. EM radiation at those wavelengths can only produce jiggle an atom or molecule, not ionize it. The intensity isn't high enough to produce appreciable heating, so the only thing in any danger is your modesty.

Add to that rum and pistol "a half bottle of Oxycontin and one of those Blair Witch project cameras strapped on to his head so he can't get it off" into the mix and Spud's on board with yer plan!

Ya still get the FF either way.

Be Well.

The Dutch were responsible for screening this terrorist or is TSA responsible for every fight that is inbound to the US?

Sounds more like a false flag event for us to pay for some very expensive and not terribly reliable equipment.

Is airline security just for show? Body scans might make some people "feel" more secure but it won't do much.

Rethinking The Art Of Military Planning Who is making money selling all these systems and are they worth it?

Spuddie:

I think Rush read what you said:

"Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was taken to a hospital with chest pains on Wednesday and was in serious condition, a Honolulu television station reported. Paramedics responded to a call at 2:41 p.m. from the Kahala Hotel and Resort where Limbaugh is vacationing, KITV reported. The station, citing unnamed sources, said the 58-year-old Limbaugh was taken to The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu."

The Queens Medical Center. Heh.

maroon the fat fucker in the most desolate part of the FATA

In a town like "Hangu" (a small border town in FATA)?

You go in but almost never come out in one piece. It's full of a very tough crowd. No taliban, no American-lovers... just 7 foot tall truck drivers.

The Queens Medical Center. Heh.

Ironically enough Rush Limbaugh might not be the household name he is today if it wasn't for a gay man in California named Norm Woodruff, who "mentored" him, dressed him for success and pulled strings to get him the job at KFBK (replacing a just fired Morton Downey) that arguably led to him becoming who he is today.

Spud discounts the rumors that he's never consummated even one of his four show marriages and that his boys-only vacay in the child sex tourism mecca of the Dominican Republic (immediately after which he was arrested at the Palm Beach International Airport for possession of viagra without prescription) as idle gossip.

Spud's not one to gossip, ya know.

You're either mistaken or simply not telling the whole story.

Full-body scanners to fry travelers

Besides ionizing beams, the feds are also testing other types of surveillance radiation. A flubbed holographic scanner developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory allows officials to strip search humans with ultra-high frequency radio waves. Millivision of Amherst, Mass., has engineered a millimeter wave scanner using radio frequencies 1,000 times higher than those of an FM broadcast. These waves pass through clothing, packaging and building materials. Ultra-high radio frequencies include radar, a spectrum of radiation known since WWII to cause cancer and neurological disability in humans. Microwave frequencies are documented by recent studies on cell/cordless phone radiation to be carcinogenic and teratogenic (causing abnormal embryonic development).

Besides ionizing beams

Millimeter waves are not ionizing, dumbass.

a spectrum of radiation known since WWII to cause cancer and neurological disability in humans

Pure, unadulterated bullshit. As is commonly the case, you haven't a fucking clue what you're talking about. Educate yourself. Millimeter waves are near the 1E-3 mark.

Bomb sniffing dogs would be better and cheeper along with the existing metal detectors.

Pure, unadulterated bullshit

Did you think you could get away with a brainless flagging of "besides ionizing beams" and simply calling it "not milimeter waves"? Nice try. You should probably quit while you're dead in the water.

In context, Big Brother's zap madness is a predictable result of America's post 9-11 security hysteria. But here's the irony: Dr. Gofman says X- radiation has the effect of "grenades and small bombs" on human cells. If we permit TSA to continually "bomb" our DNA in the name of security, what have we accomplished?

Further you completely avoided the clearly defined health effects defined by the Professor Emeritus of Molecular and Cell Biology.

A leading U.S. expert on the biological effects of X-radiation is Dr. John Gofman, Professor Emeritus of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gofman's exhaustive research leads him to conclude that there is NO SAFE DOSE-LEVEL of ionizing radiation. His studies indicate that radiation from medical diagnostics and treatment is a causal co-factor in 50 percent of America's cancers and 60 percent of our ischemic (blood flow blockage) heart disease. He stresses that the frequency with which Americans are medically X-rayed "makes for a significant radiological impact."
