Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Financial Times: Many Americans conservatives, liberals and centrists are dismayed by Barack Obama's first year. Republicans call Obama a tax and spend liberal. Progressives say he surrendered to corporate interests, and his foreign policy is a continuation of George W. Bush by other means. Independents feel let down because Obama said he would bridge the partisan divide and unite the country. Except for uniting left and right in disappointment, he failed. Who's right?

JIMAH CARTER is just happy as hell he has been replaced by Obama as the worst President EVER...

The state run media are very happy.

Even Time who dedicate most of their covers to "The One"

www.weeklystandard.com

Every president sells out his base. Obama is no different. I really wish he had sold out the health care socialists rather than the anti-war voters, however.

as the worst President EVER...

That title is reserved for EVER for George W. Bush.

Diablo if he had done that I might be able to forgive TARP2 and the budget from hell.

"They see and are right to a broken political system. Congress is polarised to its roots. The country's wide political centre is largely unrepresented on Capitol Hill" this is pretty accurate. The answer is very simple, except for the fact that those who have to vote for it are the same ones as those who will "suffer" from it:

TERM LIMITS.

(It should have been in the Constitution and would have been if they had considered what could and did happen)

F

I give President Obama an A-. A few glitches and compromises here and there got in the way of a perfect first year. Healthcare reform accomplished in just one year is a far greater achievement than I dared realistically hope. And yet, voila, it is almost complete.

Or maybe "P" for "present".

A few glitches and compromises here and there got in the way of a perfect first year.

To hear moder-h8 admit a few glitches by Obama means there were major gaffes. If it were truly only a few glitches, he would say Obama was perfect. He always sticks by his man.

Nice to know Goaty feels entitled to interpret and spin the comments of others. But after the bashing he has taken the last several days here on the DR from other posters, I can understand his eagerness to spin. (I have stayed out of it, amusing myself by watching him twist and turn in the internet wind.)

He did have satisfactory attendance, and he patronized well with others.

Really?

Sure looked to me like Goat butted back as good as he got.

And yet-"The jury is out"-for bushitter for the3 next 50 years........

He did get pretty close to almost accomplishing something his first year.

"Obama's Warning: Taxing Healthcare and Cutting Medicare Is Worst Way to Reform System"

www.breitbart.tv

For some really weird reason that moder-h8 refuses to explain, he thinks that when I point out other people's inconsistencies and hypocrisies it is I who takes the beating.

Maybe one day he'll be so kind as to explain to us how he comes to that conclusion.

MODER8 is a Giner.

Compared to what I was expecting, I give Barry a B-.

Nancy and Reid and Co, (including my drunken Senator, (it was the allergy medication, Baucus,)) get a big fucking FAIL.

I agree with Obama on one thing for sure--

'Kayne West is a jackass'

As for the wars--he gets a C+. He took so long it was ridiculous.

He gets an F on everything else.

I give him a D, maybe a C-.

#19 | Posted by wurster

Was there an admission to medication by Baucus??

It's tough when you make so many promises to different groups.

1 year? come back in 7 years and tell me he was worse than Junior..

That's what we're getting in MT.

I personally want to set aside time to write a letter to the Editor of every Montana newspaper and call for Baucus to resign.

Not only do I have the drunken Baucus speech, but valid questions of infidelity. His Mistress was also offered promotion within government. We are all very aware of this on the DR, but this is my Senator...*facepalm*.

Scum fucker Baucus.

We knew in three last time too...

He has done a wonderful job of splitting the country, economically, philosophically, politically and geographically. He gives the appearance of the Manchurian Candidate and causes many to wonder, "What country are we in?" I give him the Nobel Prize for being the worst president we have had or maybe a tie with Jimmy (the Peanut) Carter.

Most Traitorous, lying Piece of black trash ever, bar none.

O'loudmouth has made Peanut Carter, and GWB LOOK like truly dedicated patriots, as lost as they were.

I give President Obama an A-. A few glitches and compromises here and there got in the way of a perfect first year. Healthcare reform accomplished in just one year is a far greater achievement than I dared realistically hope. And yet, voila, it is almost complete.

#8 | Posted by moder8 at 2009-12-29 08:47 PM

Are you reallying trying to sell the fact that a majority democratic House, Senate, and Whitehouse really couldn't pass what ever they wanted? They could and can without any input from the opposite party.

Btw, how much does a perfect first year cost the American taxpayers? Even I could spent trillions of someone else's money and have you feeling like my shit smelled like roses

If I remember correctly, you had to 'turn something in' to even get a grade....which translates here to any real action on his part other than 'campaign rhetoric'...which the results are 'no action, all mouth'...!!!!
thus 'incomplete'....which is a general and pretty accurate characterization also..!!

President Obama get's an A-/B+ in my book.

Face it, he got through the biggest social legislation in over 40 years.....AND he drives republicans insane (all the more reason to like him).

Healthcare reform accomplished in just one year is a far greater achievement than I dared realistically hope. And yet, voila, it is almost complete.

Yowza!

In the mind of ModerH8 health care reform is both 'accomplished' AND 'almost complete.'

And then the Messiah, at the 11th hour, said "Never Mind. We'll talk about it in a few months."

So, in real English, the Messiah has accomplished nothing. And Nothing is just another word for 'hope and change'

MODER8

"Yowza!"

Double that for me. But it's going to be hard to make people understand that this is only the opening salvo.

There's plenty of tweaking in this legislation's future.

It's practically an experiment at this point until we see what works and what doesn't.

However, I agree.

Obama's da man!

I give Obama a "D" minus. at least Jimmy carter is not the worst president anymore, Obama just took that title and it appears no one will touch him.

lets see... half my family and friends are still un-employed, stimulus money is being pissed away with no real system in place to make sure it helps, nancy is talking about a 'value added tax', small businesses are afraid to hire, cash for clunkers proved that if you give people free money they will spend it, health care bill doesn't really seem like it will improve care or lower costs, cap and trade tax on the way, terrorist almost blew up a jet, fannie and freddie will get to suck off us forever, I now own part of some crappy american car companies, Iran will have nukes soon, we are still in 2 wars, gitmo is still open, no transparency, no debates on cspan, no 'change', red and blue divide stronger then ever.

Is there something lower then an 'F'???

I feel like we've dodged a bullet.

Obama's core beliefs are some of the most scary ever elected to POTUS...yet he hasn't got shiat done, minus Sotomayor and a ridiculous and ineffective "stimulus" bill.

Obama shot for the moon, but hasn't really accopmlished much yet, with unprecedented modern majorities in the House and Senate.

We conservatives should be celebrating!

Now if only liberal commentators will shut up about how bad "the hand he's been dealt" is, and if he will "own it", it'll be a great New Year!

Give a big fat F- to Bush and Obama. They are both pathologically addicted to authority and spending.

Like almost every other politician elected to office, they rose to their level of incompetance.

Well, let's see:

-Insisted that any healthcare bill he signs must have a public option (FAIL)

-Promised to close Guantanamo Bay (FAIL)

-Promised that all bills would be online for 5 days before signing (FAIL)

-No jobs for lobbyists in his White House (FAIL)

-Promised earmark reform (FAIL)

-Claimed he would end the cynical and divisive politics of the past (FAIL)

-Promised the most open and transparent administration in history (Big fucking FAIL).

He gets a "D" at best.

Let's see, my choices are:
A, for African American
B, for Black
C, for colored
D, for darkie.

Hmmmm, I'll give him an N.

N, for Neophyte.

I keep hoping my liberals friends will get the therapy they need--and have recommended since last November.

I said after the election, you will have the Presidency, the House and 60 votes in the Senate, you will have NO excuses; shut up about Bush and learn to be happy, but alas liberals can never be truly happy...

I wasn't when I was a Clinton-loving commie...

Give a big fat F- to Bush and Obama. They are both pathologically addicted to authority and spending.
Like almost every other politician elected to office, they rose to their level of incompetance.

yep, i'll second that!!!

An "F" is earned when 3,000 unsuspecting citizens are killed after you volunteered to protect them.

That strikes me as a gold standard.

Obama's first year?

C plus.

He's better than Reagan and Bush already by far but has yet to live up to the humanitarianism seen by America's greatest living president Jimmy Carter.

Be Well.

I give him a D, maybe a C-.

Wow! Really? Only after a year?

I'd say your expectations were set too high.

Obama's first year?

#51 | Posted by dethspud

Uh, Spud (pulling aside), Jimmy Carter did none of this during his administration. Only after his failed administration did he try to make it up.

He started the Iran/Iraq war!!! Killed millions.

Oh, and Spud...

If you think this:

"Progressives want the troops brought home, the security state dismantled, capitalism defanged, the profit motive dethroned, the banks nationalised, private health insurance abolished, and energy policy turned over to Greenpeace. Anything less is just another sell-out. Who on earth did these people think they were electing?"

Then, yes, Obama did far better than Reagan and Bush. However, the above paragraph is trying to tell you how extreme you are. You don't get it, do you?

Anybody who gives Bush or Obama better than an F is a contributor to our out-of-control gangster government.

W - withdrew.

Please, don't try to tell Spud anything about masta cartah and his anti-semitic / racist career. Spud is a tool of the left as most libtards are on the DR.

"Face it, he got through the biggest social legislation in over 40 years...."

You mean he dumped it on Congress to push through the largest expansion in this social legislation. Maybe had he stuck to his guns, and pressured Congress to back his idea of reform, one could give him credit. As it stands, this has very little to do with the WH and all to do with the majority party of both Houses. The best of both worlds for Obama. He can distance himself if it fails, or he can take credit if it succeeds.

Lessee, pulling US back from the brink of a great depression without a single Repube vote?

Exiting Iraq in an orderly way on schedule?

Winning back the appreciation of the world in order to solidify support against terrorism after 8 years of giving them the finger?

Passing (will have) legislation first introduced by Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 and fought for by 6 other Presidents over a century.... and doing it in his first year?

I'll agree with him on a solid B+.

#58

FF for sure.

#59 Laughs in embarrassment as he cannot dispute the facts.

Passing (will have) legislation first introduced by Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 and fought for by 6 other Presidents over a century.... and doing it in his first year?

Roosevelt's party platform at some point included "national health insurance." The bill to be signed by Obama does not involve "national health insurance," as the public option has been dropped. To claim that Roosevelt would have supported this 1,000+ page joke of a bill is ludicrous.

#61

Joe, I just gave Corky's ridiculous post a FF as it was obviously satire.

LOL

#61 Great humanitarian. Makes morons fell better about themselves on a daily basis.

Laughs in embarrassment as he cannot dispute the facts.

please post one for me to dispute.

#62 Looks up to morons.

D. I truly want him to do better - our nation depends upon his success, but as far as proof - it will be in the putting for the next three years.

#64

Those are all facts, Eberly Bro. Facts are things that don't require your permission to exist, and which you deny at every possible opportunity.

Nanc It'll be better for me and not for you. I like social programs.

Grading the first year is very difficult. despite everything he is doing it is hard to grade it.

I would give him a C as I just don't know how it will turn out.

He would have done better IMO but the healthcare bill stinks to high heaven with it being nothing more than a payoff to insurance/pharma.

HOw any moron can spin that bill to be anything else only proves their willingness to polish Obama's knob no matter what.

#68 - Happy New Year, Jackass!

Lessee, pulling US back from the brink of a great depression without a single Repube vote?

all emotion...no substance in that. Just rhetoric to support your GOD.

not a fact

Exiting Iraq in an orderly way on schedule?

okay, a schedule he choose not to get in the way of. and he hasn't exited anything yet. give him credit when he actually does it.

not a fact.

Winning back the appreciation of the world in order to solidify support against terrorism after 8 years of giving them the finger?

more bullshit emotion to express your worship of your GOD. people who hated us before still do.

not a fact.

Passing (will have) legislation first introduced by Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 and fought for by 6 other Presidents over a century.... and doing it in his first year?

JOe already called this bullshit claim for what it is. more worship for your GOD.

not a fact.

I'll agree with him on a solid B+.

if "B" stand for blowjob then maybe you got something right.

Dorky-

Fact is, Roosevelt supported national health insurance, something Obama has failed to achieve. Prove otherwise or STFU.

Roosevelt supported national health insurance, something Obama has failed to achieve.

How in the heall can argue that Obama even supports a national health insurance plan. In his speeches throughout this year he tried to distance this legislation from anything construed to be a national health insurance. I don't think he failed to achieve it, he never tried to accomplish it and made it clear what he wanted was NOT that.

but corky can keep stroking it to a poster of obama believing he has somehow carried on the vision of Teddy Roosevelt.

LOL

If you grade him against his campaign rhetoric then you'd have to give him an F.

I give President Obama an A-. A few glitches

#8 | Posted by moder8

You need to pull your head out of your ass and take a look around.

How about the war on terror? 6 hits or attempts that have been caught here in the US in the last 8 months!! Damn, that's great, less than 1 a month.

A B on the economy. No better than a C on health care without single payer or public option. An F on the war, after escalating. But an A+ for not being George Bush. that trumps all else. herm

made it clear what he wanted was NOT that.

I disagree. As late as July 17 of this year, he stated that "Any plan I sign must include an insurance exchange...including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest."

He failed, and what he's about to sign is not what Roosevelt ever supported.

As late as July 17 of this year, he stated that "Any plan I sign must include an insurance exchange...including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest."

I interpret "national insurance plan" to mean a single payer plan that resembles medicare rather than a public option or exchange.

but you are right, he didn't even live up to the public option promise.

But an A+ for not being George Bush. that trumps all else. herm

at least you have the nerve to admit it.

He posed as a reformer and then sold out to the banks and the drug and insurance companies. D-

"your GOD."

Did the Messiah get a promotion?

F, ObaMao is on track to be the worst President in our lifetime. Carter still reigns supreme, but BO is making quite a run at the title.

Of course, as long as people continue to delude themselves that BO is not responsible for what has and continues to happen then I guess you could give an Incomplete grade, synonymous with "Present."

It is very amusing reading those that still blame Bush. The article is grading Obama. The "but Bush ..." comments are so old, tired and really childish now. Continue to blame others, use your moral relativism to the maximum. We have one more long year of BO, full strength and then proper balance will be once again applied. Then the blame game again, the party of No, etc. Wah wah wah.

Amazing how much venom the rightwing has for our President. No successful terrorist attacks by foreigners his entire first year in office. The Stock Market in recovery. A monumental healthcare bill which will reduce the costs of healthcare while simultaneously making it available to @ 40 million currently uninsured Americans. The re-establishment of the United States being respected and admired throughout most of the World in the aftermath of the GWB/Cheney campaign of hatred and unilateralism. The list goes on and on. But all rightwingers can do is spit venom. In seven years, maybe, they can give it a rest.

No successful terrorist attacks by foreigners his entire first year in office

Is that now a measure of success? If so, Bush did that 7 times. Is Bush a good president too? For the record, one attack was only unsuccessful by luck, not because of good work by the Obama administration.

The rest of your post is just typical Moder8 bullshit, unworthy of anything more than a laugh for a response.

Oh yeah, we are getting a lot of respect from Iran, Russia, China. The US is now viewed as being weak, and the top players are acting accordingly.

40 million uninsured? I guess proper debate can begin when everyone can at least agree on the facts; making up facts such as how foreign nations now admire us and 40 million uninsured aside.

"He posed as a reformer and then sold out to the banks and the drug and insurance companies."

That's true. I gave him an F under the assumption that he wanted to do what he promised to do.

As a bullshitter who just promised whatever we want to hear so he can get into office at the cost of his credibility, he gets an A.

I'd give him a C-.

I like Sotomayor, and the conciliatory rhetoric vs. militaristic rhetoric, but not much else. Hated Cash for Clunkers, disagreed with Home Buyers incentives, and am foursquare against The No Health Reform Plan.

Bush did that 7 times.

Bush had 7 "first years" in office?

Bush had 7 "first years" in office?

Nice question, genius. Why would no terror attacks during the first year matter any more than no terror attacks during your other years as president? I'm pretty sure that the victims of terror attacks don't prefer to be killed during the second or third year of someone's presidency.

The job of the President:

Commander in Chief: moved troops out of Iraq because the mission was accomplished. Sorry, but if it wasn't accomplished, why are we leaving?

Treaties: Not much there, right?

Appointments: Do you really need to think about this one? The question really is - who is doing the screening?

Report to Congress: He didn't respond childishly to the "you lie" comment on National TV, although it would have been interesting to have him call out the Republican on TV and make him stand before the cameras at that very moment and have it out. That would have been exciting to watch.

Barack Obama gets an 'F' for protecting Americans

Heckofa job/vacation, O'Brownie.

"No successful terrorist attacks by foreigners his entire first year in office"

Great way to justify your statement. The claim during the campaign, though, was that the world would love us again after Bush was gone. Doesn't appear to be the case. And I guess foreigners screwing up their bombs don't count, either. Good thing Obama was standing by to help out, and according to his Homeland Chief, the system worked like it was supposed to.

A monumental healthcare bill which will reduce the costs of healthcare while simultaneously making it available to @ 40 million currently uninsured Americans.

Oh, it's monumental in that the dems found someone dumb enough to believe it will do anything of the sort that you just posted.

It will NOT reduce the costs of healthcare and it will, at best, make health insurance (not healthcare...they probably already get it) available to a very small amount of that 40 million. The insurance companies are going to implement 1 of these 3 choices....

1. charge outrageous fees to those who have been denied

2. significantly raise rates on everyone else to cover those who have been getting denied.

3. both

Eberly the bill says they can't charge more for health history only age.

I think they should raise everybody's rate so we are all equal.

so #2 then.

BTW, we are not all equal.

not a surprise you would say that. you are someone who is a loser to any insurance company.

I believe greedy individuals like yourself should be forced to subsidize my mental healthcare.

Amazing how much venom the rightwing has for our President. No successful terrorist attacks by foreigners his entire first year in office.

#83 | Posted by moder8

13 dead at Fort Hood.

6 attempts in 8 months. The last one failed because of a bad detonator. It would have been about 300 dead on the plane and how many in Detroit if the plane would have crashed there? That is some record on terror.

#96 | Posted by jackass

LOL! Your whole persona has got to be a joke.

I believe greedy individuals like yourself should be forced to subsidize my mental healthcare.

people just like me already do you stupid dumbshit. otherwise your employer couldn't afford the healthcare they provide to your psychotic ass.

That is some record on terror.

We're simply reaping the crop sewn by the militarism of Crawford's village idiot.

#96 - FF JA!

"I think they should raise everybody's rate so we are all equal."

where does that type of thinking come from? I should pay a higher rate cause fat pigs CHOOSE to eat 5 meals a day at McDonalds????

Can I ask a serious question? (and i'm not trying to be a dick, really)...

How long is everything going to stay Bush's fault?

just curious...

I would love to see things improve, but if you can't look at the policies of the current administration in an objective way, that cannot happen....

yeah bush was a fuck up we get it, now can we move on and look at the issues that are facing us today and how to fix them???

Moder8, you are clearly a partisan hack. Obama has gone back on almost every promise he made and others that will also go unfulfilled and you give him an A-. If Bush went back on so much of what he said you would be giving him a solid D no question about it. Congratulations, you have just solidified your position of pure party hack.

Lessee, pulling US back from the brink of a great depression without a single Repube vote?

WHAT DEPRESSION? That was hype to pass the failed stimulus plan. You will believe ANYTHING!!!

"Exiting Iraq in an orderly way on schedule?" Yes, after the war was won several years ago. ARE YOU REALLY giving Obama credit? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"Winning back the appreciation of the world in order to solidify support against terrorism after 8 years of giving them the finger?"
I don't see kissing the collective asses of an ungreatful "rest of the world" is winning back anything. Most people in the world love the US and and will do anything to get here. "Some" do not and these are the same lost assholes you are referring. Fucking losers that can't make their own Socialism work.

"Passing (will have) legislation first introduced by Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 and fought for by 6 other Presidents over a century.... and doing it in his first year?"
Do you mean the Health Care bill that they are still trying to get passed? Are you willfully ignorant? IF they pass this hunk of shit of a bill, it will cause Obama to go down as the worst President. Jimmy Carter will be thanking him.

"I'll agree with him on a solid B+."
And to completely refute every statement -- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

You dumbass Corky! Most of the Libs on this thread are giving him a C- at the very best.

Bite me, Edward.

You have the gravitas of a pimp and the intellect of a trout.... apologies to trout everywhere.

Thank you for conceding Corky. You know? You could have just kept quiet.

Eddie, in the years you've been here no one has ever accused you of posting an intelligent comment.

1) Even rightwing economists admit there could well have been a severe depression without the stimulus.

2) If Bush were Pres, we would not be withdrawing troops.... we'd likely be invading Lichtenstein.

3) It is good for America to have the world helping us in anti-terrorism efforts instead of laughing at our hick President.

4) History will record this health care Bill as the first significant step in giving Americans what every other industrialized nation in the world has.

5) The Beaver called and said not to be packing Wally's fudge any more.

"History will record this health care Bill as the first significant step in giving Americans what every other industrialized nation in the world has."

4) History will record this health care Bill as the first significant step in giving Americans what every other industrialized nation in the world has. -Corky

Number two is an outright lie. When Bush was still president he came up with the exit plan that is still in place today. Obama hasn't changed one thing about it, other than not getting us out in 16 months.

And history will record that this was the time when America became a truly socialized country like much of the rest of the world. I don't know about you, but it seems to me we've been doing just fine as the world's superpower without becoming so socialized.

Yes, the health care status quo, 12-17 percent increases, infant mortality rates like a 3rd world country, and 10's of thousands at ERs or dying without care is, "doing just fine", eh?

I'm surrounded by morons.

"Yes, the health care status quo, 12-17 percent increases, infant mortality rates like a 3rd world country, and 10's of thousands at ERs or dying without care is, "doing just fine", eh?

I'm surrounded by morons.

You really should do more research before you start quoting statistics. Can I see the link where you got these??

also, you libs saying that passing "THIS BILL" is better then nothing. Did you ever stop to think that "THIS BILL" may make things worse? or do you even care??? just pass something because you can?

How is making something fucked up even worse an improvement?

Worst Presidents? That's easy. GWB and RMN. Once was criminally incompetent. The other was just a criminal. Followed by RWR as a distant third for his trashing of the US economy and initiation of wholesale deficit spending.

and Obama is doing a great job right? easy to see why no real "Change" will ever happen in this country...

Yes. IMHO President Obama is doing a GREAT job, especially given the political realities and absolute refusal of the GOP to constructively engage in the writing of legislation.

i figured as much...

care to comment:

"also, you libs saying that passing "THIS BILL" is better then nothing. Did you ever stop to think that "THIS BILL" may make things worse? or do you even care??? just pass something because you can?

How is making something fucked up even worse an improvement?"

"absolute refusal of the GOP to constructively engage in the writing of legislation."

no what you really mean is the refusal of the GOP to agree with the president on everything....

Your post should read, "refusal of the GOP to agree with the President on ANYTHING..."

anyway, easy to see why nothing will ever change.
good luck to you.

you are honestly saying the dems have tried to work with the GOP?

whatever, i'm outta here... I guess all your dreams will come true over the next few years... cheers! I need a drink....

"You are honestly saying the dems tried to work with the GOP....?"

I think Obama earnestly desired that for the first ninety days in office. It was a forlorn, but worthy, hope. He underestimated the raw, pulsing, hatred.

James Buchanan will remain the worst president ever, until such time as Rush Limbaugh engineers a civil war and Sarah Palin is elected president of the break-away states of Alaska, Idaho, North Dakota, Kansas, and South Carolina.

Too bad none of these states is continguous. Too bad Sarah doesn't know what contiguous means.

"I think Obama earnestly desired (working with the GOP) for the first ninety days in office. It was a forlorn, but worthy, hope. He underestimated the raw, pulsing, hatred."

Zed nails it to a degree, but Obama continues to try, even though the effort reminds of trying to teach a pig to sing. (It wastes your time and annoys the pig.) Repubs will continue to bad-mouth their LEGITIMATELY elected president no matter how hard he tries to suck up to them, throwing meaningful health care under the bus in a weird effort at making his tent bigger. Jimmy Carter was absolutely correct when he blamed the Repub hate on racism. herm

I guess all your dreams will come true over the next few years...

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

So, when we get over the rainbow we'll all be sitting in high cotton.

so you libs are ok with passing a 2000 page health care bill that polls show the American people don't want???

democracy in action I guess!!!

"I think Obama earnestly desired (working with the GOP) for the first ninety days in office. It was a forlorn, but worthy, hope. He underestimated the raw, pulsing, hatred."

well i saw it a little differently... I heard Obama mention tort reform in one speech then pooof it was gone....

never saw anything else where he tried to actually work with the GOP. all the negotiations for the bill were in closed door session and the final few votes were bought at the last minute...

that's how I saw it, but I guess to each their own...

"That's how I saw it...."

I'm afraid I have been seeing GOP behavior through the lense of Limbaugh's nasty commentary on Obama the day of his innaugural.

I don't see how you fellows ever moved off that dime.

no, I'm not a Limbaugh fan, I think he is a fat, loud mouthed drug addict... I follow things pretty closely on my own and I think I have a pretty good handle on whats going on...

the bill will be passed by dems for dems and against the will of the American people...

I know sometimes the truth hurts...

if only it could have been on CSPAN like the chosen one said in his campaign... darnit!

Well, if it is indeed passed by dems for dems, then that by definition means it's passed by a majority. Of Americans, no less.

Your post should read, "refusal of the GOP to agree with the President on ANYTHING..."

Well if he's wrong on everything, why should they? To be fair, the fascist right is wrong on everything too.

Take a look at this chart of total government debt vs GDP. If it was a gage on a steam boiler, I would be running for my life. 1.bp.blogspot.com

The collectivists have no clue as to how fucked up this country is.

We libs rest content in the knowledge that 70% of Americans DO want health care reforms and understand that probably NO one has read the 2,000 pages and thus rely on Limbaugh and Beck to tell them that they don't want it. This is the nay-sayers/tea partygoers' finest moment. herm

While Limbaugh is a ruin of a human being, that does not seem noticed by the Republican Party, which at last glance runs terrified from his very whisper of a fart.

well I'm not a republican and I dont like palin either lol...

this is a true statement and if its not tell me where I am wrong:

the bill will be passed by dems for dems and against the will of the American people...

I want things to get better and if I thought Obama was doing a good job I would say so! If he improves I will be the first to give him credit....

parties will destroy this country!!!

"I will be the first to give him credit..."

Fair enough. No quarrel with a man expressing his conscience.

"We libs rest content in the knowledge that 70% of Americans DO want health care reforms and understand that probably NO one has read the 2,000 pages and thus rely on Limbaugh and Beck to tell them that they don't want it. This is the nay-sayers/tea partygoers' finest moment. herm"

NO one has read the 2,000 pages--> you dont think thats an issue?

So you feel the Polls are wrong then? all show the people don't want "THIS BILL"

hell I want reform, just not like this... not 2000 pages of shit crammed down my throat...

the legal speak alone in the bill will open the doors for abuse...

why do you want "THIS BILL" dont you think its important to get it right?

We libs rest content in the knowledge that 70% of Americans DO want health care reforms...

Do the math. If my estimates are correct, about 35% of Americans are taxpayers. Of those 35%, 10% pay 90% of taxes. That leaves the tax burden on the backs of 3.5% of a population of 350m which comes out to 12 million Americans. The something-for-nothing crowd deludes themselves once again.

We realists are content in our knowledge that America is a bankrupt nation.

Healthcare reform....what a laugh. Large policy holders are already being notified about what are being termed "significant increases" in their side of the premiums for 2010/2011. In my neck of the woods, we expect to loose 3,500 jobs in an area with a population of less than 200,000 as a direct result of increased healthcare premiums. Older doctors are bumping up their retirement plans and youger doctors are divesting themselves of the industry. Also, investment capital (401Ks and such) is drying up quick as the Obama administration has insured that any money put into the market will be taxed at the highest level allowed by law. And that if that if doing it legally is not enough, he will change the law "retroactively". Oops. He's already done that one.

70% of Americans DO want health care reforms

It's easy to get someone to say they are "for reform." It's another thing to propose the kind of garbage ReidLosiBama are shoving down our throats and pretend that Americans are all for it.

Hey I thought of one thing I liked that he did the first year. I thought having a beer on the lawn with the cop and the professor was pretty cool.

JACKPOT!!!!

A COMPLETE HISTORIC AND CATASTROPHIC FAILURE:

Honestly....BO takes no heat from the Lame Stream Media. He gets a pass on everything. Liberals are tainting this country and BO really stinks it up. BO is weak, passive and is giving the keys to this country away. He should be impeached for being grossly negligent, naive and dismantling our sovereign status along with the freedom we all cherish.

Is there no traitor liberals will not defend? Bowing to foreign leaders. He is a card carrying radical. Liberals are the communist that took over the Democrat's party. Just look at Eric Holder, communist to the bone. Howard Dean never saw it coming.

You voted for this idiot, you deal with it. He is a one term president. All those moves he made with the CIA, homeland security, etc., are a coming back to bite him in his arrogant, junior senator derriere. Look at Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab? As Janet so proudly stated "the system worked." Right... the "system" did not included the actions of passengers of Northwest Airlines Flight 253 jumping a radical islamic nut job that set both the plane and thankfully his crotch on fire.

Get him a box, pack is crap and kick him to the curb. Janet, Harry, Nancy and Timroid can pack it up too. Now that is truly a "dream team."

Obama gets an A+ for jamming his big black cock down rethuglicunt throats nationwide!

why do you want "THIS BILL" dont you think its important to get it right?

#151 | Posted by cmon

I think it's some neurotic need for the Dems to "use the power that the people gave them" even though what they doing is completely against what the people want!

It's really childish for a Liberal in Congress to tell me that he has the power and he's (or she's) going to force me to accept it. Not only will I not accept it, I and millions of others will remove them from office and reverse everything these childish morons are trying to do now. Enough is ENOUGH!

And you get laughed at for thinking he's doing it!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Obama is a fool for thinking he had that much power. What kind of idiot selects Joe Biden as VPOTUS? THE VILL-EH-GEEEEZ!!!!!

Silly Barry,
Grades are for people who actually DO something.

Barry is just AUDITING the position of President. Hence, he can't earn a grade. He just sits there and "listens." Comes with voting "present."

I thought having a beer on the lawn with the cop and the professor was pretty cool.

HAhahahahaaahaahahhaahahahahha
ahahahahahahhahahahahha

Ok I've just got to respond to that one. Uh moder8 Pelosi had her bill handed to her minus the amendments (otherwise know as bribes) Reid hid in chambers and refused to meet with ANY Republicans on the writing of the 2000 page bill (including the bribes ... I mean amendments)

The Republicans had to write their own healthcare reform bill of 230 pages. Now to be fair I didn't read any of it so I don't know what's in it.

BUT back to the topic at hand OBAMA'S First year in office (which actually ends January 20th) I'm thinking uhhhhhhhhh ... Hey ever seen the movie Accepted well there's a scene where everyone laughs at the guy who gets a ZERO on the SAT. Justin Long's character points out that you get like 600 points for putting your name on the testing material. OK, got the scene, Obama is that character. Obama the Zero.

Yep I give Obama a ZERO. He is a leftist Progressive, doesn't know what is in the Constitution, a racist and Ahhh heck If you believe in him it is pointless to even talk (write) about his flaws.

One last note BUSH IS OUT OF OFFICE EITHER SHUT UP OR CLAIM WHAT'S GOING ON IS NOW YOUR FAULT. Oh the emperor has no clothes on. He's naked. And unfortunately so is Reid, Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, Boxer, Brown etc. et. al. the liberal progressive list goes on.

Did someone let BL2's retarded brother out of the basement again?

doesn't know what is in the Constitution

Herm well you're sorta right (forgive me for that you) and your sorta wrong.

A pollster calls you and ask "Herm do you think that Healthcare needs to be reformed?" You answer "Yes."
Now does the pollster have a supporter for Obama/Reid/Pelosi or a supporter for Conservatives (whether they're Republicans or not doesn't matter in this scenario). DO you know the answer? The answer is Who is paying for the poll?
You look confused. Let me clear it up some. The (evil) pollster can then sell this question and answer twice. He (or She) can sell it to Obama ad say that so and so percent are for your Healthcare Reform plan. OR the pollster could sell it to ahhh Townhall.com and say so and so percent can say that americans want healthcare reformed. Now a lot depends on follow up questions but (did anyone notice the capital letters well emphesis on certain words in polls can lead those polled in the "correct" direction of the already paid for poll. ..... Do you guys (and gals, though typically guys is understood to mean both under these circumstances but you never know whose reading this) understand this basic concept called POLLING FOR STATISTICS.

Oh Herm the last poll had 43 against 36 for and 21 with no opinion

Wow Zombie and I have something in common, we both played the old resident evils.

I am going to have to give Obama an A+...wait we are talking about his golf game right?

Ruining the Country A+
Helping and/or protecting Americans, double negative F.

The September tea party on 9/12/10 should be very interesting indeed.

To quote Murphy's Law (the band),
America Rules...

www.youtube.com

"The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party.
Barack Obama is a lawyer.
Michelle Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.
Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer.
Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate, which figures).
Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to Law school.

The Republican Party is made up of REAL people doing real work, who are
often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn
men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America. And, so we have
seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers' Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil
companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation."

The Republican Party is made up of REAL people doing real work, who are
often the targets of lawyers.

Oh be quiet, satisfactory american,Republicans hire lots of lawyers,John Yoo comes to mind instantly.Alito,Roberts,Hot dog salesmen?

Oh be quiet, satisfactory american,Republicans hire lots of lawyers...

I think he said a lot of Democrats are lawyers as opposed to Republicans. He wasn't speaking of hiring practices.

I would imagine that every member of Congress has a lawyer on their staff

no shit

The September tea party on 9/12/10 should be very interesting indeed.

Much in the same way that a decomposing animal you come across in the woods is "interesting".

But yes... resident evil is the shit.

I disagree, Jason. Obama knows what's in the Constitution, but he hates it. The Constitution prevents him from doing what he's doing. That's what Hopey/Change is all about. It's about taking everything you've worked for and giving it to his voters.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

First off, in terms of business Dumbya was King Midas in reverse, everything he touched turned to shit.

Cheney? You want Spud to celebrate a traitor (outing an NOC spook fer political gain qualifies) and a War Criminal (initiating torture as an instrument of statecraft) who used his political powers to enrich his real masters over at Helliburton while making himself stinking rich in the process like the War Profiteering asswipe he is?

Cos that just aint never gonna happen.

Frist? The asshole who declared that Terri Schiavo wasn't brain dead based on a freakin' video tape? That medical genius?

Gingrich? The only thing he immersed himself in was poontang while his wife was dying in the hospital.

The Democrats are the party of unions and lawyers and minorities and the working class.

The Republicans are the party of corporatists and elitists and religious maniacs and the owning class.

Learn that.

Be Well.

President Obama was too modest. He certainly deserves an A+ for his efforts this year. He's governing from the center, he's taken responsibility for the wars started by bushco, he's made tough choices that will stabilize and then grow our economy and he's brought diplomacy back en vogue.

He was a deserved recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize; that fact will continue to haunt his political opponents.

He will win reelection in a major landslide in 2012.

We are lucky the electorate got it right in 2008....can you imagine if grandpa and that idiot governor were in charge now?

I think your refering to the fiasco 2000+ page nightmare bill, right? After 60 years must be a reference to Roosevelt. Ever read Amity Shlaes The Forgotten Man.

Bush mess ..... OHHH Clinton's mess (both of them)

Framing Republican as party of no . ... actually that should really be credited to the fringe mainstream media.

Restoring America's credibility .... Ohhh bowing and blaming America (That's you too igmoramus) Yep that's what a sovereign nation's representative should do (note the sarcasm).

Throwing a pitch out..... OMG who cares?

By the way Why on earth did you choose igmoramus as a user name. Igmoramus is defined as an ignorant person. I'm just asking not calling you one (even though you've given me permission by calling yourself one).

Because diversity and a healthy balance of ideologies are what make this country strong.

Unfortunately, (and probably the reason that there is so much animosity from both sides) the left's primary objective at this point in time is to eliminate diversity of thought. Even Nancy Pelosi is on record as stating that one of the goals of the Democrats is to eliminate conservatism. Kind of says a lot when the sitting speaker of the house syas that her party wantts to restrict thought (or opinion). There latest inch toward that goal involves GE owned Time Warner.

Just curious what grade the libs give him, for running to the race card the first chance he got with the Gates incident?
