Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up an Amsterdam-Detroit airline flight Christmas Day demonstrated that "the system worked." Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley how that could be possible when the Nigerian who has been charged with trying to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the jet, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."

I'll go with very stupid. And you left out the best part where she said the passengers and crew handled the situation and no one panicked.

If you read statements from the passengers it sounds more like practically everyone panicked.

The pathetifc thing about "The System" is this was exactly the same kind of attack and security breach as the "Shoe Bomber" attack in December of 2001.

Eight years and no one plugged that hole? What, did they forget about it or something?

Sad.

Thanks to the shoe bomber we all get to take of our shoes every time we go through airport security, I suppose as a measure to make us feel like someone is watching out for us. I guess that's now been proven relatively ineffective.

Thanks to the shoe bomber we all get to take of our shoes every time we go through airport security,

So guess what else gets to go in that gray buss tub with your shoes and keys in the post-underwear bomber era?

So guess what else gets to go in that gray buss tub with your shoes and keys in the post-underwear bomber era?

Jak Se Mao's "prosthesis"?

Mao can't through airport security because of the plate in his head.

I don't let TwatsCleft carry my baby-leg for me anymore.

That begs the question of what he was doing with it in the first place... on second thought, I don't want to know.

"So guess what else gets to go in that gray buss tub with your shoes and keys in the post-underwear bomber era?"

Please tell there is some small hope that they might work on better scanning/sniffing for nitrates instead of freaking out about underwear?

No, right?

Sigh.

That begs the question of what he was doing with it in the first place...

Self-esteem.

I do what I can.

I do what I can.

With your limited capacity, I'm sure you do.

Napolitano: "The system worked"

For some reason she reminds me here of the Black Knight:

www.youtube.com

Ladies and Gentlemen, for your own safety please strip naked before boarding.

Was she drunk when she said this? Someone said they saw her drinking with Max Baucus early Sun morning.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

There's that hope and change.

Haven't seen a peep about this around these parts.

"We'll complain about the miss-steps of the Obama administration as much as we complained about the Bush Administration.

-- The Left"

HAHA!

Those federal employees, who are in a union, will never get fired, get health care for the rest of their life, and get a raise every year did what they were supposed to do; they voted for the Democrats.

The Federal Government takes the flaws of human nature and puts them on steroids.

I'm trying to be civil about this Napolitano and therefore I'll not comment---this gov. continues to implode---it's like the keystone cops and if you have any confidence yet just watch the video on this Baucus character and his drunken tirade on the floor--it's a reflection of the partisans that keep voting these character deficient people in office

This flight originated in Amsterdam, so it would seem the authorities in Amsterdam have some explaining to do.

When the plane landed here, the system did work, the Police, TSA, and FBI jumped into action.

Now there is a strong cry for full body scanners to be used at more locations. Funny thing though, the airport in Amsterdam has more full body scanners than anywhere else.

Heckuva job, Butchy.

Poor Janet. Another Community Organizer in over her head.

The System Worked...Before it failed???

Napolitano concedes airline security system failed

WASHINGTON - Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano conceded Monday that the aviation security system failed when a young man on a watchlist with a U.S. visa in his pocket and a powerful explosive hidden on his body was allowed to board a fight from Amsterdam to Detroit.

I'll bet Obama's ears are getting all red and junk.

"Those federal employees, who are in a union, will never get fired, get health care for the rest of their life, and get a raise every year did what they were supposed to do; they voted for the Democrats."

Some here will repeat any talking point no matter how stupid.

Napolitano made a foolish statement but the flight originated in Amsterdam, how is American security then blamed for letting this guy get on the plane???

"When the plane landed here, the system did work, the Police, TSA, and FBI jumped into action."

Right....they Mirandized him, got him a lawyer and made sure his Constitutional rights weren't violated. Now he'll be arraigned in the justice system, maybe even get bail. Too bad they won't be able to put panties on his head.

A man on a watch list - purchases a one way ticket - pays in cash - and boards with no luggage.

Red flags, anyone.

"Now he'll be arraigned in the justice system, maybe even get bail."

Do you really believe the stuff you post???

I know we can't say, "war on terror" or any other of the non-politically correct kinds of things our little leftisdt-socialist friends have forbidden, but all the "nice-nice" bullshit, all the "apologizing," and bowing isn't doing a damn thing to reduce attacks on the U.S. In fact, they are increasing.

"The attempt by 23-year-old Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab follows the alleged murders in Ft. Hood, Texas by Islamist-inspired Major Nidal Hasan in November. Brian Jenkins, who studies terrorism for the Rand Corporation, says there were more terror incidents (12), including thwarted plots, on U.S. soil in 2009 than in any year since 2001. The jihadists don't seem to like Americans any better because we're closing down Guantanamo.

This increasing terror tempo makes the Obama Administration's reflexive impulse to treat terrorists like routine criminal suspects all the more worrisome. It immediately indicted Mr. Abdulmutallab on criminal charges of trying to destroy an aircraft, despite reports that he told officials he had ties to al Qaeda and had picked up his PETN explosive in Yemen. The charges mean the Nigerian can only be interrogated like any other defendant in a criminal case, subject to having a lawyer present and his Miranda rights read.

Yet he is precisely the kind of illegal enemy combatant who should be interrogated first with the goal of preventing future attacks and learning more about terror networks rather than gaining a single conviction. We now have to hope he cooperates voluntarily."

online.wsj.com

Is the "Aviation Security Policy" an international agreement, or does each country have their own flavor?

If the rules are not the same in the US as they are in say, Botswana, then the world will play hell trying to keep airplanes in the sky.

The detonator failed or the plane would have crashed. Heroic passengers disabled the bomber. The system failed us again. People in Government who control our lives earn more and are less accountable than those in the private sector.

Labor in the private sector has been marginalized and impoverished by Rethuglicans, particularly Reagan but the Demowussies play along for those Corporate donations. Its class warfare waged by Capitalists that control the majority of our think tanks and all mass media.

Lincoln understood that labor preempts capital as the source of production, which is the only sustainable system for generating wealth. As long as 51% of America doesn't get this, we will continue to be fucked over, as a people and a country. We spend unsustainable sums losing wars, diverting all profits into the pockets of the military industrial complex. These policies will diminish our economic strength and ultimately our ability to defend ourselves.

"Do you really believe the stuff you post???"

Yeah...which part do YOU not believe?

"This increasing terror tempo makes the Obama Administration's reflexive impulse to treat terrorists like routine criminal suspects all the more worrisome. It immediately indicted Mr. Abdulmutallab on criminal charges of trying to destroy an aircraft, despite reports that he told officials he had ties to al Qaeda and had picked up his PETN explosive in Yemen. The charges mean the Nigerian can only be interrogated like any other defendant in a criminal case, subject to having a lawyer present and his Miranda rights read."

All that being said, doesn't he then get a bail hearing? I said MAYBE he'd get bail. Is that ENTIRELY out of the realm of possibility? ANYTHING is possible with THESE ass clowns.

"A man on a watch list - purchases a one way ticket - pays in cash - and boards with no luggage."

And he has no passport, Muslim, father warned U.S.Embassy six months prior...what's wrong with all this? You wanna "profile" him or something? You're just a racist.

BBQ Jihad Oysters anyone?

Israel has never had a breach of security on their airplanes. They profile and interview the suspects profiling generates. By profiling, racially and nationalistically, you save everybody time and money while improving security. Its a win-win.

Fight errorism.

"Yeah...which part do YOU not believe?"

That he will be allowed out on bail. Do you honestly think he will or were you just making another pointless attack on the Obama administration. You do realize that it borders on insanity to believe that the Obama administration is somehow to blame for a terrorist who boarded in Amsterdam....don't you????

If this guy had no passport, why was he allowed on a transatlantic flight? Are security officials really that paranoid about being cast as racists? This is fucked.

This is all Obama fault, being on vacation in Hawaii instead of being at all European airports checking passports as he should have been.

"The detonator failed or the plane would have crashed."

Maybe, not definately. That was a very small device and from that location may have done no damage to the airframe at all.

That said, it never should have been on the plane in the first place, and all the world's airline security people have known this to be a problem since 2001 and didn't do anything about it.

surely you jest,

I know that I cannot board an international flight without showing the private carrier my passport. So, I don't believe that part of your story.

The rest of the red flags you raise, suggest some people need to be fired. Doesn't the airline have a responsibility to report such facts to the screeners? Random screening is highly inefficient.

"I'll bet Obama's ears are getting all red and junk."

And I'll bet Napolitano's dramatic shift into reverse is an attempt to keep her job now that she realizes how stupid, arrogant and inept she sounded.

I will further wager it ain't a-gonna work. This was epic, epic fail in a place where the consequences of epic fail can be unthinkable.

She needs to go. And while you're at it, Mr. Potus, toss Geithner out too, while everybody's distracted by the Napolitano circus. The man's turning into your Alberto Gonzales.

"That he will be allowed out on bail."

Why? Figure it out, he won't have to surrender a passport 'cause he doesn't HAVE one so he can't leave the country. He could be in danger from other inmates in jail. He's ONLY charged with "attempting" to destroy an aircraft...
Oh, I can think of a lot of arguments a defense lawyer can bring up why he should be released on bail or something. As I said before...ANYTHING is possible with THIS group of retards running the government.

All the political correctness hatched in this country over the last few years is finally starting to take its toll---just like a financial ponzi scheme, eventually, when it goes there'll be pain spread all around.

"Yeah...which part do YOU not believe?"

"That he will be allowed out on bail."

I hope you are right Danni, but we now live in a liberal utopia where PC rules our actions. I don't have the confidence in ObamaNation that you do:

"Muslim Man Released From Jail After Posting $100 Bond Threatened to Blow Up Local Stores"

"Mohamed Ibrahim is out after posting $100 bond. Earlier in the day, he was arrested after police say he walked into several Memphis businesses and threatened to blow them up.

Court records show Ibrahim was also telling people he was Muslim, and wanted to start a jihad, or holy war, in Memphis.....

The suspect tried to kick out the windows of a patrol car during the arrest and police said they had to use pepper spray to subdue him."

gatewaypundit.firstthings.com

"Abdulmutallab's Lawyer is Public Defender Who Forged Documents in Detroit Terror Cell Trial"

www.debbieschlussel.com

"That was a very small device and from that location may have done no damage to the airframe at all."

He specifically chose seat 19A because it's directly adjacent to the wing tanks on that aircraft. This was NOT some nut acting alone. Some "Indian lawyer" arguing at check-in got him on the plane without a passport. The explosives were picked up in Yemen. No, it was a TERRORIST (oh oh, my bad) attack!

On second thought......

A day after saying the system worked, Napolitano backtracked, saying her words had been taken out of context.

"Our system did not work in this instance," she said on NBC's "Today" show. "No one is happy or satisfied with that. An extensive review is under way."

www.huffingtonpost.com

"He specifically chose seat 19A because it's directly adjacent to the wing tanks on that aircraft."

So what? He didn't have a high enough powder factor to breach the floor, much less the fuel tank in the wing.

Well, unless he was going to crawl out under the wing and stick it to the tank itself... that would have worked.

Doesn't this sound like one of Obama's twits? They seem to have only PART of any answer!

"So what? He didn't have a high enough powder factor to breach the floor, much less the fuel tank in the wing.

It didn't explode and what he had was PETN which has been used in the past to destroy aircraft. The "pop" was the detonator which failed to detonate the explosive but DID ignite inflammable material.

I'm sure you know exactly how much he had and how much Bush placed in the WTC to bring down the towers too. You're a Secret Service agent with an engineering degree, right?

"This was NOT some nut acting alone..."

"No, it was a TERRORIST (oh oh, my bad) attack!"

Just clear one thing up for me... are you under the impression that a nut acting alone trying to blow up a plane is NOT a terrorist?

"Just clear one thing up for me... are you under the impression that a nut acting alone trying to blow up a plane is NOT a terrorist?"

OK, Redial...very s-l-o-w-l-y for you...he IS a terrorist, he WAS NOT acting alone, consequently this is not a case of ONE criminal nut as he is being handled by the justice system.
Does that kinda clear it up for you or did I use too many big words?

The point about the Israel's security is a good one. We have some fancy computer system that is supposed to find suspects without profiling. Too bad it doesn't work from Amsterdam. Profiling works. Doesn't catch all but it helps identify good suspects. I must ask, what exactly is Israel doing we are not?

I am also forced to ask how toasty nuts got a visa in the first place. Did he get his British citizenship? (No Visa required) Articles I read said he had a visa though. This despite his own family reporting him as a risk... Government at work for you.

The system worked fine. there was an attempted terror attack on American Soil and it didn't even interrupt Acorn's golf swing.

Danni:

"That he will be allowed out on bail."

You must never have heard of the Eighth Amendment. "Excessive bail shall not be required...." You probably were too busy looking for "Health care shall be provided to all people and no person shall enjoy the right to retain their earnings so long as any person is denied this inalienable right." So, is it a possibility, yeah. Likely, depends on what the ACLU has to say about it. Also, remember he is black. That may make holding him without bail a RACIST act based on bigotry and fear. Acorn (either the organization or the president) may have something to say about it.

"Do you honestly think he will or were you just making another pointless attack on the Obama administration. You do realize that it borders on insanity to believe that the Obama administration is somehow to blame for a terrorist who boarded in Amsterdam....don't you????"

Let's see, the administration was warned in advance...sorta like that MUSLIM that attacked our soldiers at Ft. Hood. The government failed to act, Acorn was too busy to be interrupted. Granted, he was not reading to a child, he was on the golf course (much more noble). So that is TWO attacks that were conducted by MUSLIM terrorists in the United States with WARNING GIVEN and Acorn did nothing. And you still blame 9-11 on Bush and think that is "reasonable"?

"are you under the impression that a nut acting alone trying to blow up a plane is NOT a terrorist?"

There are a few on this board that beleive that....
They define it as someone connected to a group with a political agenda, parphrasing ZombieHunter...

I understand the definition, but not to take things too lightly, I think this guy could be part of a larger effort, at least I would play it that way until we know for sure. You just don't know, so be conservative, and assume he is, until you have better intel.

How long do you wait to get on board an Israel flight?

How many check points do you go through?

How thorough our their baggage checks?

Caller on the radio said it today: it's a matter of cost vs. safety.

Israel has fewer flights and time to spend searching and searching and searching.

The airlines would be peeved with the gov't if check-in went through four checkpoints, full baggage searches, etc.

Money over your safety. It's a choice.

Question: If this guy is part of a large cell and they plan more - do you consider this the 'ticking time' and approach him with torture as a necessary, but horrible way to prevent further deaths?

Petrous,

Absolutely not, Danni was able to find the part of the Eighth Amendment that prohibits such things. Sorry, I know...lives hang in the balance...but you gotta respect the terrorists rights. (You might want to make sure that they get their health care while they are here.)

Selecting this "woman" for Homeland Security Secretary is proof enough that you're all batshit crazy and stupid.

"he IS a terrorist, he WAS NOT acting alone, consequently this is not a case of ONE criminal nut as he is being handled by the justice system."

Yeah, it's a group of criminal nuts and they only have one in captivity. So what exactly do you propose they do instead of putting this guy on trial?

Bomb Yemen? Invade Nigeria?

"So what exactly do you propose they do instead of putting this guy on trial?"

Can you say, "Guantanamo?" But, you can relax...no panties on his head.

How long do you wait to get on board an Israel flight?

In BenGurion I was interrogated for 3minutes, my bags were hand searched. Then my bags were processed. It was no longer than our terminals, given the way we do it. I didn't wait in line long, they had plenty of interested people to examine you ;-)

Flying into Israel, not on El Al, its the SOP. On El Al, the gate agent took a minute or two longer. Then you went through El Al security, depending upon the terminal. El Al has plain clothsed officers in the terminal.

How many check points do you go through?

In Israel one, on El Al into the country, you might pass through two, "standard" and then El Al's own security.

How thorough our their baggage checks?

Hand checked in Isreal. On El Al, in foreign countries, the bags go through standard screening, and then a decompression in flight simulation process. No other country does this.

I hope you are right Danni, but we now live in a liberal utopia where PC rules our actions.

Yeah, it's also the liberal utopia's fault that Huckabee commuted someone's sentence, so they could go on to murder 4 police officers. Right?

It's NOT always about partisan politics, dipshit.

I swear, until now I wasn't sure whether that Filmmaker was an employee of The Homeland Security Department or not! After this, I guess he was!

Where can you go to get so much STUPIDITY, concentrate it in ONE location, then hide it from so many people for so long? OH, I know The Federal Government, the Executive Branch to be exact (could also apply to Congress)!

mark stein said it funny

she will now fire the typist who typed that and the others who forced her mouth to say it..
since she changed this there has been NOTHING but blame someone else from all of them

AND OBAMA HASNT said a fuckin word

doesnt want to interupt PUTTING at the course...

This is one stupid person in charge of DHS.

I guess she means the 'first responders' did a good job.

You know the Dutch guy who jumped the aisle to tackle this jihadist with his pants on fire.

Gives new meaning to "liar liar--pants on fire".

Dammit Janet needs to go.

I would say this Napolitano woman is a lunatic. But declaring an utter failure a success has been a legitimate tactics for business and government leaders for quite some time.

The only person who did anything to mitigate the threat this guy posed was not part of the system. The system would have let him blow up the plane.

What idiots really believe that the US/TSA have no control over what happens on a US-bound flight from Amsterdam (or anywhere else for that matter)? Airports in other countries are subject to US rules and inspection by the US govt in order to maintain the privilege of having flights go to the US. Amsterdam complied with the US rules but this guy was NOT on the no-fly list that is issued by the US. This same guy was banned from flying to the UK by the UK govt by putting his name on the UK's no-fly list. Apparently you CAN stop terrorits from boarding planes and flying to your country -- if you're not too busy sucking up to them.

You Obama apologists are idiots to believe that the US doesn't have some control over this process and that Obama hasn't made a mockery of our efforts to fight terrorism. One of the first acts this clown took was to strike the word "terrorism" from the lexicon and start Mirandizing people like this. Are you so stupid as to believe that Obama's "open hand" approach is working ANYWHERE? The public reaction to this administration should be the same as it would be had this act of terrorism been successful. The only reason it wasn't was sheer luck and anyone with a brain can see that Obama has done NOTHING but weaken our ability to protect this country from these acts.

"Damn-it Janet"

just like the Rocky Horror Picture Show

So what gives? I thought there was a million names on the no fly list. Many here were in an uproar over those 'needlessly' detained. Now Janet has it riddled down to 4,000 names. HER AGENCY should have had this guy on that list.

Time for her to take her attention off of returning GIs, and put it on HER agency.

Then again, she couldn't protect her home state's borders, now she has made our air borders just as porous. Bully for her! Quick time to groom her for Supreme Court Justice!!!!!

Napolitano's statement was stupid, but what's funny here are all the assholes that are puckered because they think our government (no matter who's in power) should have the ability to stop the possibility of ANY terror attack.

Guess what idiots, some day something major is going to happen again. It has nothing to do with partisan politics. It's just a fact.

no, the system didn't work, and neither did the detonator - thank God. Oh - can still say the "G" word on the DR?

Bomb Yemen? Invade Nigeria?

Compared to who, and in what way?

#67 Says it all. Nice post.

"no, the system didn't work, and neither did the detonator - "

CNN had a PETN demo tonight showing how much damage it can do. Judging from that demo, I still doubt it would have done enough damage to take the plane down if it had gone off where it was.

Someone better put some effort into keeping PETN off of airplanes though... should have done that years ago.

There is a solution to all this terrorist crap. Strip search and photograph all Muslims before they board a plane. Make them all show up two hours earlier then everyone else for the humiliating exam. Run them through a full body xray every time so if they fly too often they get cancer.

Immediately stop all diplomatic passports for Muslim and African countries. No Muslim should get special treatment.

Do this until they bring forward Bin Ladin and every single person connected with Al Qaida.

Of course this will never happen, but nothing else will stop this insane game.

Janet N makes Janet Reno look smart!

But OMG I kept hearing the messiah wants to make Janet Napolitano a Supreme Court Justice.

Does the left start to understand how dangerous the zero's policies and actions make us?

Janet Neopolitan has just raise the terror alert level to pink regarding this latest isolated and unfotunate incident. Feel better?

what's funny here are all the assholes that are puckered because they think our government (no matter who's in power) should have the ability to stop the possibility of ANY terror attack.

I don't think anyone has suggested that government should be able to stop ANY terror attack. However, government should be able to stop a reported jihadist with no passport from getting on a plane to detroit with a packet of explosives and a syringe full of acid in his pants.

The other thing that is comming out is that he had help from people who were freed from GTMO. Why did we free these people? because of pressure from the MEDIA, the Democrats and the left.

The Democrats have your BACK, with a KNIFE.

I think the biggest problem is not with the inability to stop a terrorist attack, but rather the inability of the administration to simply tell the truth about why it happened.

Why lie and say that system worked when it is very clear that it did not work. Then come out and try to cover your bases and say that the system failed miserably.

Why the attempt to make it look better than it is? It should be no surprise though because we have seem the same thing with the stimulus impact and the job creation reports.

Why start telling the truth now.

LOOK the answer is simple

these wont stop UNTIL we do just the sort of things that EL AL does...this morning an ex head of that SAFE AIRLINE was on fox and he went through some of the proceedures and when asked if he thought they should do some of the imaging things being suggested he said NO and was pretty uptight about it....something about insulting all of islam by looking at thier women's nakedness...

but THE FACT is they do PROFILING and investigations and havnt had any incidents In HOW MANY YEARS?????

sure its one airline but we could still do it.
IF we are serious about keeping people safe.

However, government should be able to stop a reported jihadist with no passport from getting on a plane to detroit with a packet of explosives and a syringe full of acid in his pants.

Do you have something that says he didn't have a passport? I'd like to see it. Regardless, I think the government could do just as you state. The trouble is that some Americans expect to get that kind of security with no more expense to the taxpayers or with no increase to the price of their tickets, and with no extra wait time in security lines.

a syringe full of acid in his pants

I must have missed this part. Is it the kind of acid that dissolves your skin or your ego?

WHAT...
an eyewitness has come forward and said that he told the fbi and others that in front of the line from him was THIS GUY as well as an 'indian looking man' and the indian was telling the airline person that the guy here didnt have a passport but he was telling the 'teller' that he could let him on anyway...

these two eyewitnesses were on fox this morning...

I guess you all know what they say in AZ. AZs gain was the US loss.

"The system worked"... unless of course you happened to be on that plane!!!

cmon
lets be fair now
she recounted the statment >MUCH LIKE THe terrorist list she put out that would have YOU AND ME ON it.
so its another sign of gross incompetence in the obama white house,..
this is different in that her incompetence here will get people killed

FIRE HER NOW.........

SO WHATS the answer for this you say?

well this GENIUS has JUST the answer

www.washingtonexaminer.com

YES...lets unionize a department that just fucked up....

these two eyewitnesses were on fox this morning...

#86 | Posted by afkabl2

Oh, two eyewitnesses on Fox said he didn't have a passport. Well...it must be true then.

BLT, you DO know that all regulations now say that you have to have a passport to enter the U.S., don't you?

travel.state.gov

If he was allowed to board the plane without a passport, it was a failure of established security protocol by several people, at the location of departure.

I simply flew back in from Canada last June. They made me show my passport at least three different times before I entered the plane.

IM just relaying what the one guy said who was on the plane......
he stated that the airline rep said that he had to have one and the man WITH THIS GUY was arguing about it and they went off somewhere else to apparently talk more about it..

IM JuST SAYING.........and I dont believe they checked this guy on fox out by his political party card........dont know...

of course this was the summer BEFORE 9/11 but on returning from europe I didnt even have to open mine.....or my suitcase..NOT THAT THERE WERE ANY CUBAN CIGARS IN THERE THAT I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BOUGHT IN SALZBERG...............

You're a moron.

IM JuST SAYING.........

I must ask, what exactly is Israel doing we are not?

#50 | Posted by GalaxiePete

Living in a nearly homogenous society without certain basic freedoms, a large spread out population or significant air travel? Of course, the Isralis are under constant attacks by suicide bombers. The Israelis learned the truth a long time ago: You can have the best system in the world but you can't stop every idiot who feels like sacrificing himself to take out a few citizens.

"Winchester to Deliver 200 Million 40-Cal. Rounds to Homeland Security" www.gunreports.com

"Let's see now, ICE has approximately 15,000 employees. Not all of them are licensed to carry firearms, but just to keep the math simple, we'll divide the whole shebang into 200 million. That works out to a little over 13,000 rounds per employee over five years, or approximately 2,600 per employee per year." pacoenterprises.blogspot.com

Is the Obama administration expecting trouble from the right?

Is this what she meant when she said the system is working perfectly asplanned?

Exactly KBM. She is worried that our air borders aren't as open as say the US/Mexican border, and she plans to make them just as porous.

It worked?

If by working, Napolitano means she has extended the government's policy of porous borders to the skies, she is certainly correct.

If by working, she means that someone named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was spared the indignity of a body search, then she has hit a home run.

If by working, she means that quick-thinking passengers once again sprang into action and bravely carried out the duties that she utterly failed to do, then, yeah, everything is working.

Adding insult to this very scary injury is to think of the thousands of honest Americans who boarded airplanes during the holidays and endured so much more intrusive security than Abdulmutallab.

Sure as the sun rose, grandmothers were groped. Mothers were jerked aside and forced to take a swig of their baby's milk to ensure neither they nor their infant had terroristic motives in flying from Akron to Chicago.

But a sketchy Muslim from Nigeria who has been reported dangerous? Welcome aboard! And welcome to a country where only your dignity will be protected at all costs.

The zero has spoken his PC speak...."Had the suspect succeeded in bringing down that plane, it could have killed nearly 300 passengers and crew, innocent civilians preparing to celebrate the holidays with their families and friends," he said, then adding: "We will do everything in our power to protect our country."

He doesn't even cal the douche bag out for what he IS... A fuckin Muslim terrorists. He's afriad of the words.....Muslim and Terrorist.

How reassuring. No need to look further Janet's on the job!!!! Next up Janet for Supreme Court!!!!

Obama was more forceful denouncing the tea party attendees and the Cambridge cop, then this miserable excuse of a human being. An "isolated extremist" I believe his words were. How FORCEFUL....NOT!

The sad truth is that we will never be as successful as the Israelis because of the ACLU pukes. Until we can profile according to your religion and background, we won't be safe.

Well we would be safer if the system worked better. we are regressing back to the pre 911 days when the 15+ gov agencies won't even share information among themselves.

Hell Obama won't even release info on hassan's known background to the senate....

I suppose I should be using this time to blast the last administration, or maybe the current one, but I've got to say this instead.
We've gone from 19 guys following a thoughtfully planned, carefully coordinated and well-financed attack to some bozo with a bomb in his shorts that he doesn't even know how to ignite. It really seems to me, somebody's doing something right.

There is a fundamental problem with suicide missions.

Which one are you thinking of, Zat? Is it that you have a hard time finding good people to pull it off, or that if you are lucky enough to find some, you lose them right away?

Mohammad Atta had a US commercial pilot's license.
That's a waste of training.
Many of the hijackers didn't know it was a suicide mission, as I recall.
All they get now are idiots.

New Oil War: Remember the USS Cole in Yemen?

Yes the CIA 'System Worked'! They bypassed all airport security and put "their" pre-programmed terrorist (he had no passport) on that Detroit flight! This whole "phony" terrorist from Yemen plot was just another CIA/Mossad black-ops "Propaganda" ploy to ramp up support in the U.S.to instigate a war on Yemen in order to "STEAL" their rich oil reserves! This was exactly why the CIA/Mossad blew up the USS Cole in Yemen to "legitimize" an American led (plundering) war against that country! For some reason the CIA's timing of the USS Cole attack was premature to instigate the war against that country.Maybe they were overextended in Iraq and Afghanistan at the time? Now obviously the time is ripe and their "patsy" (Yemeni) airplane bomber is the lynch pin that will set this new US/Israel "Oil War" in motion!

I thought I heard there are something like 15 body scanners in that airport alone. Sadly they are not used for flights going into the US. The US have a total of about 40 and as usual we worry more about their legal challenges as opposed to their worth.

Tighter airline security could increase business jet use

I've been a pilot since 1967, my junior year in high school.
I paid for my private license myself and my parents kicked in for the commercial. I HATE the airlines. I work with folks who use them all the time. Fortunately I don't have to.

Last time I flew from Albuquerque I had a body scan experience. The female TSA officer was impressed.

eww

She needs to resign.

The job is over her head.

They do get the same results though, don't they?

Knee-jerk reactions with useless new (and surely short term) rules and widespread panic and fear?

And Lunatic rantings on new invasion plans and jailing all the funny looking people?

I just flew into Alberta today amid warnings that no US-bound flight would take any kind of carry on bags... no laptops, to purses, no nothing.

Has zip to do with that last attack, but hey, I guess it shows we're doing something.
