Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Songwriter Vic Chesnutt died in Athens, Ga., Christmas Day after an overdose of muscle relaxants, a few weeks after giving an interview in which he said he was "nearly suicidal" because of $70,000 in medical bills. "In the few short years that we knew him personally, Vic transformed our sense of what true character, grace and determination are all about. Our grief is inexpressible and Vic's absence unfathomable," read a note posted on the Constellation Records web site.

Vic was a friend of mine.

RIP, buddy...you'll be missed.

Sorry about your buddy, Dave. RIP, Vic.

Supernatural

Excellent tune.

In hell they're singing:

Chestnutt's roasting on an open fire.....

Just listened to Supernatural-dude had some REAL Talent...it's a shame.
Sorry about the loss of your friend, Dave-that kind of thing is never easy.

cookfish-even for you-that was pretty low.

I still gave you a funny flag though...it
WAS funny.

When that song comes on-I sing it as..

"Chet's nuts roasting on an open fire..." then SCREAM real loud........

"I'm not too eloquent talking about these things," Chesnutt told The Times earlier this month. "I was making payments, but I can't anymore and I really have no idea what I'm going to do. It seems absurd they can charge this much. When I think about all this, it gets me so furious. I could die tomorrow because of other operations I need that I can't afford."

Hey rethugs think we don't need healthcare legislation still??

What was his medical problem?

Name calling, the last resort. I am an Independent, and no. i do not think we need your messiahs healthcare solution.

I am an Independent

What's the matter, chickenhawk? Republicans too leftwing for your tastes?

I was a registered dem for 35 years before I changed my affiliation.

Thanks for playing princess.

I was a registered dem for 35 years before I changed my affiliation.

So when did you have that stroke?

I think it is the dems who have had the stroke.

"When I think about all this, it gets me so furious. I could die tomorrow because of other operations I need that I can't afford."

When Americans are still saying this then I think we have a huge problem. Republicans need to go to hell if they think it is ok for Americans to die because they can't afford a medical procedure.

What was his medical condition that required more surgeries?

Chesnutt had released 13 albums, including "At the Cut" in September.

Earlier this month, he finished a 29-show, two-month tour - including a November stop at the 40 Watt Club - promoting the album.

What did he do with all his money?

They got soaked up in Medical expenses. He had problems ever since he was paralyzed in an auto wreck at 18. He had complications since the wreck.

I think he just stiffed the hospital. Fucking bum.

You must learn to pay higher taxes so people aren't ruined from medical expenses.

Spoken like a true socialist.

Why do you think he was ruined by his medical expenses? Just because he said so? Figures a lib will believe anything they are told.

Global Warming, no wait, climate change. etc.

"Global Warming, no wait, climate change."

The only reason the terminology changed was because mouth-breathers kept denying it every time winter rolled around.

Does calling people names make you feel superior? How pathetic.

#13 POSTED BY JACKASS....Everybody dies. It's just a matter of when.

And no, taxpayers have no responsibility to pay the personal expenses of other people.

Also, the Congress has no Constitutional authority to require them to do so.

Personal responsibility is the basis of the founding of our country.

BRAVO

Should the gov also buy everyone food? Pay their utility bills, supply free housing?

"Does calling people names make you feel superior? How pathetic."

If the mouth-breathing fits, wear it.

Besides...on your most recent page, you call people:

econazi
bum
wacko-lib
dummies
Idiot
princess
trolls
SUCKERS

Pathetic is right.

You actually looked that up. get a fucking life.

"You actually looked that up."

Only because I knew it was there before I looked it up. Kiss my ass, hypocrite.

But you still looked it up, how funny. Since you have so much time on your hands, do you want to come over and mow my lawns, wash my cars, clean out the coops? I will pay you more than you make now, say $8.05 an hour.

"But you still looked it up, how funny."

Really? 'Cause if it was me, I'd be embarrassed at the hypocrisy being exposed, and getting your nose rubbed in your own shit.

Naw, but I am sure you would. The $8.05 an hour offer is still there.

"Naw, but I am sure you would."

If someone else posted over a half-dozen examples of hypocrisy? Well...I guess you're more used to it than me.

"The $8.05 an hour offer is still there."

Aww....how cute. Move the decimal to the right, and you still don't hit my current rate.

Now that is truely funny. I did not realize BK paid that well.

"I did not realize BK paid that well."

Don't worry. I'm sure your long career at Subway will get you hired on, some day.

Ok, back to the title of this thread. Why is it this loser who had made 13 albums/cd's do with all his money so as he was unable to afford healthcare? And what was his current medical condition that required surgery ( or so he says and you libs believe and lap up like so much kool-aid)that he could not afford, that he was whinning about.

You know what I really hate, disabled people whinning about their lot in life. Shit, 150 years ago they would not have lived as long as they do now. They should be grateful to be alive. They produce next to nothing and are a drag on society and our resources.

My lawn needs to be mowed tomorrow dan.

Nice comeback there princess...........

Be here at 9am and I will show you how the mower works. Remember, it is not a french fry machine.

Personal responsibility is the basis of the founding of our country.

#22 | Posted by gluon

To an extent but we must take care of those who can't take care of themselves.

"Be here at 9am and I will show you how the mower works."

Only if you're here by 8am with your kneepads on.

I have a dream that my four little quarts will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skim, but by the cocoa of their character.

Sounds like you have some experience in this princess.

It comes as no surprise that psychotic miscreants and social outcasts like cockfisher and chickenshit would come along and shit all over a dead man's thread - a man that neither know anything about - but I'm disappointed that Danforth couldn't show a little class and restraint.

Oh well...

"Global Warming, no wait, climate change."

The only reason the terminology changed was because mouth-breathers kept denying it every time winter rolled around.

Actually the mouth breathers are the ones that coined the phrase global warming.

"Sounds like you have some experience in this princess."

"Does calling people names make you feel superior? How pathetic."

unfortunately for all of us, he was "too pale" and paralyzed so in obama's eyes a drain on the system and expendable. obama so sayeth: "we are in partnership with god in matters of life and death."
god help us all. (the real one)

I still want to know what this guy did with all his money?
