These somewhat conservative Democrats realize they're on thin ice and will do what they feel necessary to retain their power.

The nation soured on Reps over the years, largely due to their lack of conservative governance. So Dems, proclaiming to be "conservative", filled the void. That's understandable.

But now they have to look to their voters for re-election. And many are very nervous about having been pressured to vote with libs.

So time will tell how this all plays out. My suspicion is that libs will sacrifice going into the minority if it means getting nationalized healthcare. They feel they'll get power back in short order anyway.
