Nothing is funnier to watch than Mitch McConnell when he pretends outrage at the dastardly Dems.
I just don't get how he fools any voters into voting for him.

Thanks to the senate for extending my career. I WAS planning to retire in 2 years, but our wonderful politicians who ignore what the hell we want decided I needed "better" health care. Looks as if I have to wait until 2014 to see exactly how much they screwed me over!

And the lemmings march on, dragging the country with them....

I watched his initial Press Conference Saturday. You're right. He is one emotionless dude.

If the people who wrote this bill were proud of it, they wouldn't be forcing this vote in the dead of night," argued Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky.

If the people who opposed it weren't playing games, liking voting to surrender in the GWOT, they wouldn't have to.

Congrats to the insurance companies. This is huge for them. Hope and change....nice. Congrats to Wisgod also who had a non slanderous post. Where is Moder8?

I could say the same for the little o

This health bill has changed so much that I'm unsure of what's in it now.

A couple of questions...

On reducing the deficit, weren't the CBO numbers related to the bill that had the public option in it? What does the CBO say about the current bill?

And aside from subsidizing low income people, how is the current bill going to reduce costs or slow down medical inflation for everyone else?

By cutting Medicare and raising taxes.

The Senate moved closer to SELLING ALL 60 VOTES is more like it...

Real Transparency is selling your vote right out in the open like Nelson from Nebraska or Dodd...

2010 Baby 2010

So... without a public option, they're still going to cut Medicare? This is health reform?

This is health reform?

You mean he is spanking the monkey?

What does the CBO say about the current bill?

Doesn't really matter when you consider the fact that the CBO is bound to take the Democrats' ridiculous promises as fact. The current bill includes a plan to automatically cut Medicare payments to doctors by 21.5% next year and even deeper after that, which we all know won't happen, but the CBO analysis is required to take this as true. Thus, a CBO analysis will not reflect reality.

It's something for Big O to sign is what it is.

I disagree, this bill will fuck things up more than people will like to admit, despite the fact that it does not have a public option. Check out the article in this thread.

ONE more thing we are finding out about this assault on our basic freedom and liberty.

HARRY fuckin REID inserted in the dark of night a provision that will increase the jurisdiction of
MEDICARE ADVISARY BOARD...any guesses as to what they REALLY is?

and he also included language that would make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE TO AMend or get rid of.

and you dupes here just dont give a fuck

MEDICARE ADVISARY BOARD...any guesses as to what they REALLY is?

Better watch out, I think I see Harry Reid sneaking up behind you with a hammer!

BBOOOOOO!

AGAIN HARRY ReiD

as I said yesterday he whined and FEAR MONGERED about TWo people die from no health care every ten mins

COMPUTE....
almost a quarter of a MILLION people will be KILLED BY ried and pelosi and obama because of the BULLSHIT structure of this baloney.

240,000 KILLED BEcause of thier political move to not begin so called benifits for 4 years...

google minnesota senate election of 2008 if you want to see fools and funny

Yeah the Republican loser was pretty funny-especially when he thought he was winning and said real Minnesotans wouldn't go to court. Then he went to court.

ALSO I in NO Way endorse any fund raising here but its an example of the political armegedon awaiting goddamn democrats

givebentheboot.com

I of course was referring to ACORN's involvment..ballots in trunks of cars and the winner being one of the dumbest pieces of shit on recorn...

"240,000 KILLED BEcause of thier political move to not begin so called benifits for 4 years..."

Gee, wonder what would have happened if the Party of No had not filibustered???

"HARRY fuckin REID inserted in the dark of night a provision that will increase the jurisdiction of
MEDICARE ADVISARY BOARD...any guesses as to what they REALLY is?"

Oh no....it's the Death Panel!!!!!

Riiight.

Why hasn't there been any debate in the Senate on the final bill? What are Reid and his minions afraid of?

So they either cut Medicare, or they've been lying all along about whether or not this bill will reduce the deficit. How can anyone seriously get behind this?

DANNNNNI

so tell me the TRUTH then

ried CRIED about two people every ten mins being DEAD because of no care...but the benifits that would persumable keep them alive wont start until 2014..

WELL.............was this man Lying???????

"By standing up to the special interests who prevented reform for decades and who are furiously lobbying against it now, the Senate has moved us closer to reform that makes a tremendous difference for families, for seniors, for businesses and for the country as a whole," Obama told reporters at the White House.

Somehow they are worse than the three Seantors, who held their party hostage until outlandish concessions were put in place? Not to mention the other sell outs who promised certain reforms for the last year that have been stripped out? Including the biggest cheerleader sitting in the Oval Office?

So they either cut Medicare, or they've been lying all along about whether or not this bill will reduce the deficit. How can anyone seriously get behind this?

#31 | Posted by LIVE_OR_DIE at

well the way I see it is that the people who were DUPED into voting for this lying piece of crap will be behind it if for no other reason than to not be proven wrong.

I still cant believe that people think that congress will cut medicare a half of a billion..
and these are the same people who went into CONVUlsioNS when the gop tried to cut even a fraction of this...the reason.
IT WasNT THIER CUTs in order to take complete control of even more of the economy and thus CONTROL of us and THuS put the american people in a position that IF WE DIDNT vote for them...we would lose a ton of entitlements and we KNOW that entitlements NEVER GO AWAY but only become DEFICIT spending...

"ALSO I in NO Way endorse any fund raising here but its an example of the political armegedon awaiting goddamn democrats"

They are committing political suicide. Ray Stevens tells it like it is:

www.youtube.com

but do libs inthe country or here give a fuck about any of that....of course not...

NOVEMBER 2, 2010....could be the 2nd most important date in our history...right behind july 4, 1776

medicare a half of a billion..

sorry but the way dems are spending I just got confused and as the new joke says....make sure obama doesnt find out what the next word for money after trillion is...

HALD A TRILLION in medicare cuts...yeah...its gonna happen.......

JesT

where did you find that??

cant wait for the onslaught of goddamn dems here ridiculing his chraracters and of course there will be the good old teabagger reference since they 'gots nuttin else'......

"but the benifits that would persumable keep them alive wont start until 2014.."

Actually, that is one of the issues which may be addressed in the conference committee but even if it stands as is....do you think Reid wanted it that way or do you think he is presenting the best bill he could get through the mine field knows as the Senate???
Most Americans understand that the Dems wanted a much more sweeping change like Medicare Part E, then they were forced to make compromises because of the Party of NO and the conservative Dems....so if there are weaknesses in the bill take it up with the people who refused to allow the best bill for the American people. It is a starting point, the REpublicans get that and that is why they are now throwing temper tantrums all over the place.
When in doubt about the bill just look to see how Republicans are reacting....if they are angry then it must be good for America. If they are happy then not so much.

the cost of medicare has never ever been cut or reduced and never will be.

Why hasn't there been any debate in the Senate on the final bill? What are Reid and his minions afraid of?

#29 | Posted by midtowncowboy

You should know that libs will NOT debate an issue, they attack and name call all that don't agree with them.

Danni, that's bull shit. The dem leadership could have come out stronger earlier on for better reforms. Then, the compromises made might not be so bad. Instead, they caved every chance they got, and now you have Obama himself up there praising this bill.

So, which is it? Are they cutting Medicare (without a public option in its place of course) or are they just lying about the cost savings?

okay danni

then he should shut the fuck up about how many people die every ten mins then..
fear mongering..right?????

and then of course we have also been subjected to the bullshit about how proud TED would be...
sure...what good MURDERING, cheATER from HARVARD, DRUNK wouldnt be proud of this shit...

"240,000 KILLED BEcause of thier political move to not begin so called benifits for 4 years..."

Is anyone really surprised Reid would talk out of his depends wearing ass? I remember last year when he was wasting the Senate floors time about how women couldn't afford to drive their kids to school... Women were afraid to take their kids to the emergency room... Of course the debate was about a environmental bill.

His foolish rant about 1 out of 42 deaths were the result of no coverage was right before his crap that diabetes is on the rise for the same reason. Yet this is the clown in charge of the one of the largest expansions in history?

the cost of medicare has never ever been cut or reduced and never will be.

RIGHT

which is why the pres is A FUCKIN LIAR when he talks about no addition to deficit......because THATS where it will come from...

and remember libbies...the CBO ONLY gives its finding based on what these lying, cheating, sumbithces godamn dems give to them............

"When in doubt about the bill just look to see how Republicans are reacting...."

And the independents, Danni, don't forget the independents...and then there are the elderly, they are fast becoming "undemocrats" too. You see, your constant theme...
Democrats...GOOD!
Republicans...BAD
...doesn't have any traction.

when asked about the NElSON THEFT of our money

now known as the
CORNHUSKER Kickback"

reids response.."thats what this is all about"

rare truth from a known liar.

and more to come from the other payoffs, bribes, and "sweetheart deals' given to the democrat whores.

DODD said to recieve HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in kickbacks because his numbers are so bad...

ah yes...CHANGE YOU CAN BELIVE IN all right...

"..which is why the pres is A FUCKIN LIAR when he talks about no addition to deficit......"

He has lied about just about everything so far, why should the deficit be different? My main argument with the Bush administration was spending and increasing deficits...but as the saying goes, You ain't seen nuthin' yet!"

"And the independents, Danni, don't forget the independents...and then there are the elderly"

Gee, you think any independents or elderly people have kids who don't have health insurance???
Think they care about their grandchildren who may now, finally, get covered??? Y'all missed the point of Obama's falling numbers, people were mad that health reform wasn't more radical, mad that the public option was dropped but now they are remembering who caused that to happen and it ain't Obama and the "good" Dems.

"DODD said to recieve HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in kickbacks because his numbers are so bad..."

I agree. My point was that all Obama ever wanted was a bill to sign and to be able brag that he got something done, especially after the Clintons failed to do so. The evidence is clear when you look at what he's contributed to it.

"Y'all missed the point of Obama's falling numbers, people were mad that health reform wasn't more radical, mad that the public option was dropped but now they are remembering who caused that to happen and it ain't Obama and the "good" Dems."

Right, Danni...you go on believing that. There is more involved with those "falling numbers" than just health care.

www.rasmussenreports.com

Let's have a moment of silence for those with individual policies and small business.... It's called community rating and its about to jack you up!

RIP.

"There is more involved with those "falling numbers" than just health care."

Yeah, I know about the 24/7/365 Obama bashing going on at Faux News and on right wing liar radio.
Meanwhile, he is getting this bill passed and most Americans will be glad.
There should be an angry-o-meter to measure REpublican reaction if the bill passes...the higher it registers the better the bill is for America.
One thing for certain, 90% of the opposition to this bill had nothing what-so-ever to do with its actual impact on America.
I said 90% because there are a FEW who have honest fiscal objections and who have been consistent in that view like Ron Paul but those who have newly found fiscal conservatism...their objections are purely partisan.

"Y'all missed the point of Obama's falling numbers, people were mad that health reform wasn't more radical, mad that the public option was dropped but now they are remembering who caused that to happen and it ain't Obama and the "good" Dems"

Do you and Corky sniff the same bottle of Elmers? The repubs have had ZERO say in the P/O being in or out. How can you sit there and criticize the GOP when your own party not only sold out, but even hijacked this legislation until millions of dollars and other ridiculous concessions were included? It boggles the mind that anyone can put anything on the repubs, when it comes to any part of the HC reform legislation.

"It boggles the mind that anyone can put anything on the repubs, when it comes to any part of the HC reform legislation."

It boggles the mind that anyone could vote for Republicans who have announced long ago that their intent in the health care reform issue was simply to bring down Barack Obama. They wanted a Waterloo and so far it looks as though they will be disappointed. I think voters expect more from legislators than that they will simply filibuster and say no to everything.

Joe you are spot on but most voters don't know this.

If a bill said we will make pigs fly, the CBO would assume this would happend.

None of that matters to Danni. You must always remeber Danni's ideology when reading one of her posts.
Democrats...GOOD! (even the ones who held up passing of the bill)
Republicans...BAD! (even though they had NOTHING to do with holding up the bill)

I think voters expect more from legislators than that they will simply filibuster and say no to everything.

#57 | Posted by danni

I think voters had their eyes opened by the pay for votes they just witnessed.

"The repubs have had ZERO say in the P/O being in or out."

Nonsense. If a half-dozen had spoken up about the common sense of a counterpoint to monopolistic health insurance company practices, we wouldn't have had to go through this dog-and-pony show, and no one would have been able to hold the process hostage via payoffs. It's difficult to believe none of the Republicans see any value in some pubic option, and easier to believe they got 100+ amendments into the bill while planning to give not one vote in return.

#40 | Posted by semtex111 at 2009-12-22 11:48

the cost of medicare has never ever been cut or reduced and never will be.
------------
This bill will lower health care spending, by creating longer wait times, because your adding new patients, but not adding more doctors.

So over time Medicare patients will get less doctor visits, thus lowering health care spending.

None of this will happen because they made the system more efficient.

"None of that matters to Danni. You must always remeber Danni's ideology when reading one of her posts.
Democrats...GOOD! (even the ones who held up passing of the bill)
Republicans...BAD! (even though they had NOTHING to do with holding up the bill)"

What kills me, is their whining about what the repubs did as a majority. Yet here we have the biggest sell out and blatant bribes by their party and still they blame or criticze repubs. Hell Rcade said this is how legislation is passed? But in dannis case, the most laughable is her silence on one of her true heros like Howard Dean ripping this legislation.

Republicans accused Democrats of ramming the bill through despite growing public opposition.

Translation: why don't we get paid anymore?

#61 | Posted by Danforth at 2009-12-22 12:34 PM

Let me get this straight... If a handful of repubs saw the light on P/O, somehow that would have changed the minds of the dems who didn't want it included? Even though the dems did not need one of these repubs to back the P/O to get the Bill passed? Is that really what you are saying?

Why didn't any repubs hold out like Nelson, Landreau, Dodd and see what old Harry was willing to give them? BTW... Did Old Harry ever make any approach to the repubs for bi partisan support?

"If a handful of repubs saw the light on P/O, somehow that would have changed the minds of the dems who didn't want it included?"

If they helped break a filibuster then yes, we would have a P/O.

"Why didn't any repubs hold out like Nelson, Landreau, Dodd and see what old Harry was willing to give them?"

Because their leadership told all of them not to break ranks, to vote party over country, as usual.

The right was completely left out of the conversation. Pelosi said from the beginning "we won" Danni, get off blaming repubs on this one, you control the senate remember.

Bull shit. Kickbacks???? Which right wing liar called it that???

#51 | Posted by danni at 2009

okay
kickbacks may not be the right term...but he got hundreds of millions to use as primer for his race..
there...that sounds better.
OF COURSE when he was LET OUT OF his countrywide deal EVEN THOUGH THE ETHICS COMMITTE ASKED FOR NOT ONE SHREAD OF paperwork from countrywide...

well there might be some hankypanky here too but I hereby take back the word kickback on this one.

he STILL got some of MY TAX MONEY To help him get reelected...

hey young lady..get your tv on some channel besides msnbc or cnn...61% say they dont want it and a majority have said nothing would be better at this point...

Man way to make Jest look psychic. Dems good, repubs bad....

How can you post something like that? What do you call holding your party hostage for hundreds of millions of dollars in concessiions and other perks for your vote?

"Why didn't any repubs hold out like Nelson, Landreau, Dodd and see what old Harry was willing to give them?"

What was Dodds leverage with old man Reid? Fucking up Fannie and Freddie again?

ANOTHER comment and line that a lib repeats ad nasuem until they actually believe it..

party over country

yeah right...MASS changing the law to get a dem in

and chaRLEY RANGEL STILL chair of ways and means...

If they helped break a filibuster then yes, we would have a P/O.

Members of your own party were ready to filibuster until the P/O was removed and again you say that is because of the GOP? BWHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

JUST HEARD ON RADIO

LONG TERM HeALTH CARE PROVISION added with no REPUBLICAN KNOWLEDGE OR INPUT...

its what kent conrad said was "a ponzi scheme madoff would have been proud of".....

seven dEms SIGNED thier opposition to it and it was taken out..
reports are now ITS bACK IN...

SO senator conrad...are you going to be just another goddam democrat lying sack of shit with no prinicpals or what????

OOPS...it was in there when conrad voted Yes the other night so he IS A GOddamn lying sack of shit..

"What do you call holding your party hostage for hundreds of millions of dollars in concessiions and other perks for your vote?"

Funds for Medicaid is hardly a kickback. Worst case scenario...some sick people will get medical care.

"What was Dodds leverage with old man Reid? Fucking up Fannie and Freddie again?"

I know Dodd received millions from the Banking industry. Who just happened to have had record profits this year during one of the worst economical cyles of our time. Of course this is the same guy who lied and said he had no idea there were bonuses in the legislation. Just another worthless POS like most of the dems in the Senate.

looking for more info on post 74
but HEY danni...here is something for you since you hate the rich and think they should give all thier money to what you and others libs think.

DANNI

every state in the union will have to pay for EXPANED medicaid..EXCEPT FOR nebraska
FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!

we...you and I are going to pay for THIER care and for nelsons vote,.

"and again you say that is because of the GOP? "

Only if you think the GOP should have a hand in the legislation. If a half-dozen had said they'd vote for a PO if there was also tort reform, the bill would have gone a different way.

That said, don't get me wrong: they're BOTH at fault, and I believe they should scrap this and start over.

HERE ARE at least three pigs at the trough...

notice BERNiE sanders takes credit for TEN BILLION.....
makes landreu look like a REALLY cheap whore

www.nypost.com

"Did Old Harry ever make any approach to the repubs for bi partisan support?"

With over 100 amendments in the bill proposed by the Rs, I'd say the answer to that is yes.

damn you danforth

just when you were about to be persona non grata you go and say something all common sense and shit..
make up your mind.

and THEN you go right back in...LOL

please...last amendment he brought back was what..800 pages long and then they went batshit when they were asked to actually have it read..

have to cut and paste this for proving the issue

Vermont and Massachusetts were given additional Medicaid funding, another plus for Sanders and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) Three states Pennsylvania, New York and Florida all won protections for their Medicare Advantage beneficiaries at a time when the program is facing cuts nationwide.

All of this came on top of a $300 million increase for Medicaid in Louisiana, designed to win the vote of Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu.

Under pressure from the White House to get a deal done by Christmas, Reid was unapologetic. He argued that, by definition, legislating means deal making and defended the special treatment for Nelson's home state of Nebraska.

"You'll find a number of states that are treated differently than other states. That's what legislating is all about. It's compromise," he said.

and THis is FUCKING chANGE we were told about...

"Funds for Medicaid is hardly a kickback. Worst case scenario...some sick people will get medical care."

Of course it does danni. What about the other States? Oh yeah, there are no other States who qualify...

blogs.abcnews.com

What does it take to get a wavering senator to vote for health care reform?

Here's a case study.

On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section increasing federal Medicaid subsidies for "certain states recovering from a major disaster."

The section spends two pages defining which "states" would qualify, saying, among other things, that it would be states that "during the preceding 7 fiscal years" have been declared a "major disaster area."

I am told the section applies to exactly one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has been playing hard to get on the health care bill.

In other words, the bill spends two pages describing would could be written with a single world: Louisiana. (This may also help explain why the bill is long.)

MEDIcaRE advaNTAGE when cuts coming nationwide..

republican states are getting nothing or little..

and THATS why this link is appropriate as response for all you who bullshit about gop not having a side...
notice the info about reid and his last minute additions..ONE STAPLED together ..

online.wsj.com

SORRY meant to add

states run by republicans ..not rinos like california..are the ones getting 'hosed' on this...
and those dems who were too stupid to not lie about how they might not be on board like nelson did..

maybe it IS time

So, which is it? Are they cutting Medicare (without a public option in its place of course) or are they just lying about the cost savings?

LOL

All the hysterical rwrs are losing it now that Obama will indeed get his healthcare bill passed, in whatever form, which they all claimed was impossible....

Nice to read all the rw posts as their heads collectively explode for the 2nd time....first being in early Nov. 08.

He's also gotten some of the largest banks to repay the money they borrowed from us, is removing our troops from harm's way in the unnecessary occupation and placing them in the country that housed those who DID attack us, got the budget bill/pentagon bill passed, stocks are at a 14 month high, and is pressuring banks to ease up on lending red tape.....

And now, we see that housing sales are improving during a season when house sales is usually depressed......

What's next?

Hmmm, maybe Obama will get OBL for xmas?

new product prices UP 1.8% TWicE the projected rate

all consumer prices UP .4%

inflation ON THE WAY and its not from george bush

HIGHER TAXEs about to hit YOUR WalleT

debt SOURING to well over 12 trillion and IF things we will owe are projected out that debt is almost twenty trillion......

IRAN nuking up while obama "TALKS" with his thumb up his ass

arizona university prof says on july of last summer the GOVT had taken over 30% of the economy and when the EpA bullshit comes out as it says..the govt will control over sEVENTY PER CENT of the economy

why dont liberal fucks just go right on ahead and move to venezuela instead of moving US that direction..
it would be a lot easier on all of us if you would just move on and be with your heroes named chavez and castro,.

Hey Woke, maybe you can answer my question at #88.

"inflation ON THE WAY and its not from george bush"

You really are pathetic.

"maybe it IS time

seceed."

Buh bye!

okay but we WILL be taking our oil and our ports with us BUT we could make a deal..
like nice HIGH prices to anyone oh say...on our RIGHT...lol

and you WILL NOT be able to just brush off the coming inflation and HIGHER taxes on bush no matter HOW hard the left will try by lying and bullshiting

health care vote..

ALL Dems NOW OWN THE BILL and they WILL NOT be let off the hook when we get to the 'mother of all " I TOLD YOU So's"

as I SAID>.EVERY sinGLE dEM in the senate no matter how mUCH they LIE TO us calling themsleves moderate..
THERE ARE NO MODERATE DEMS IN THE SEnATA Because they ALL VOTED AND NOW OWN THIs pile of shit

and it MAY EVEn be unconstitutional as well...

OH IM sorry
I forgot that the courts are ONLY for liberal fuckwad causes........
silly me..

I guess at your advanced years you forget that you say it? LOL.

"okay but we WILL be taking our oil and our ports with us"

Yeah, and we'll be bringing all of our military out of your state and putting it into loyal states. Then we'll sit and watch your economy go down the crapper. You'll probably be part of Mexico again within months.

advanced age?
advanced AGE?

ADVANCED AGE?

whats that sonny ?

SPeAK UP..........

The health care bill iis designed to funnel money into the general fund of the treasury department. They figure that if they take all the money into Washington, then basically anyone who wants to eat must bow down to whatever the adminsitration wants to push through. Kind of reminds me of a Stalinist approach.

Liberals have forgotten that the Federal Govenment gets its power from We the People. This will all be nullified by the states.

The aid tapers off dramatically for households with solid middle-class incomes. A family of four making $66,000 a year would still have to spend about 10 percent of its income on premiums less than a mortgage but more than a car payment. And that's without counting copayments and deductible. Several million otherwise eligible Americans could still be priced out.

when it's all said and done the middle class will take it up the ass again.

I make a little more than that Semtex and guess what I don't mind if my rates go up cuz I know I'll be helping people.

"inflation ON THE WAY and its not from george bush"

Gee...will it get as bad as it got under Reagan?

"HIGHER TAXEs about to hit YOUR WalleT"

Gee..is it as much of a tax increase as Reagan did, long-term, for people who travel for business, people who have business meals, people who have employee expenses, or people who pay medical bills?

how can that be..danni and others tell us that RR was a big business shill and all sorts of other things..

anyway...your comment doenst change anything about obama and what is headed our way if he isnt stopped.
