Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Sunday, December 06, 2009

1. They oppose all Americans being entitled to healthcare. They believe that if 40+ million Americans are uninsured we should not care. Especially if it may cost them a little money out of pocket to do something about it.

2. They oppose consensual same-sex marriage between two adults in love.

3. They blame the high rate of minorities being unemployed on bad work ethics and feelings of entitlement instead of the economy.

4. They deny global warming not because of the science, but because if properly addressed it might cost them a little money over the long run and because a former Democratic VP became famous for publicizing it.

5. They place "values" and the bible over fairness, intelligence and common sense.

11. They hate President Obama mainly because he is a black man. But realizing that is unacceptable, they claim it is because they oppose his policies even though they don't have the first fucking clue about what most of those policies entail as opposed to GWB policies.

A few of those could apply to those on the left as well, Mod.

No they could not Lisa! I agree. This explains why I truly hate those on the right!!!!!

Where did you get this stuff? The Rosie O'Donnell website? How about a link.

You're not exactly on their christmas list either.

I think you forgot the part about how we are child molesters, cannibals and have hooves.

Looks to me like Moder8 is losing the debate and has resorted to name calling. Typical left game plan.

#6: But that would be a lie. Very few of you are child molesters, cannibals or have hooves (though some of you apparently do). On the other hand, you could point out how I forgot the part about how most of you are stupid.

I guess Moder8 has been watching the debate on the Senate floor and listening to Dems cry about how if they vote for this bill they will all lose their seat including Pelosi. Waaaaaaaah.

#7: Actually MysteryToy, none of the items listed are name calling. They are facts as reflected by rightwing posters such as yourself day in and day out here on the DR.

#1 | Posted by moder8 - nonsense - I equally dislike his white side! TAKE IT BACK!

Blog BS is funny stuff. That's why I visit these sites....

Moder8..............lol, anything but..... keep deluding yourself though..... How's your brother doing, was he able to prescribe anything to stop the tears?

Mysterytoy loves to deflect to because he can't debate his own shortcomings. One of those is extreme greed. Mystery the right hates me be because I speak the truth.

Both sides are oblivious to their own short comings.

If it wasn't so sad, it would be laughable.

I truly think JA is someone's class project.

NO one is this braindead since Bill and Ted.

What is "miitarist"?

Lisa, I challenge you to post a list of 10 important areas where leftwingers as a whole are as detestable. (Not areas which pertain to the bad behavior of a few politicians or partisans, but areas which really apply to Dems as a whole.) I think if you approach the task in an intellectually honest manner you will not be able to come up with that type of list which really does apply to MOST Dems.

"How Modern Liberals Think"

10 Differences between Conservatives And Liberals

Conservatives and liberals approach almost every issue with completely different philosophies, underlying assumptions, and methods. That's why it's so hard to find genuine compromise between conservatism and liberalism -- because not only are liberals almost always wrong, their solutions almost always make things worse.

With that in mind, let me take a few moments to explain some of the key differences between liberals and conservative to you.

President Bush, accompanied by members of military families, gestures while making remarks on the Iraq war supplemental, Monday, April 16, 2007, in the East Room of the White House in Washington. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)

Bonus) Conservatives believe that judges should act like umpires instead of legislating from the bench. That means that judges should determine whether laws are permissible under the Constitution and settle debates about the meaning of laws, not impose their will based on their ideological leanings. Liberals view judges as a backdoor method of getting unpopular left-leaning legislation passed. They don't want umpires, they want political partisans in black robes who will side with them first and then come up with a rationale to explain it.

10) Conservatives believe that individual Americans have a right to defend themselves and their families with guns and that right cannot be taken away by any method short of a Constitutional Amendment, which conservatives would oppose. Liberals believe by taking arms away from law abiding citizens, they can prevent criminals, who aren't going to abide by gun control laws, from using guns in the commission of crimes.

9) Conservatives believe that we should live in a color blind society where every individual is judged on the content of his character and the merits of his actions. On the other hand, liberals believe that it's ok to discriminate based on race as long as it primarily benefits minority groups.

8) Conservatives are capitalists and believe that entrepreneurs who amass great wealth through their own efforts are good for the country and shouldn't be punished for being successful. Liberals are socialists who view successful business owners as people who cheated the system somehow or got lucky. That's why they don't respect high achievers and see them as little more than piggy banks for their programs.

7) Conservatives believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child and since we believe that infanticide is wrong, we oppose abortion. Most liberals, despite what they'll tell you, believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child, but they prefer killing the baby to inconveniencing the mother.

6) Conservatives believe in confronting and defeating enemies of the United States before they can harm American citizens. Liberals believe in using law enforcement measures to deal with terrorism, which means that they feel we should allow terrorists to train, plan, and actually attempt to kill Americans before we try to arrest them -- as if you can just send the police around to pick up a terrorist mastermind hiding in Iran or the wilds of Pakistan.

5) Conservatives, but not necessarily Republicans (which is unfortunate), believe it's vitally important to the future of the country to reduce the size of government, keep taxes low, balance the budget, and get this country out of debt. Liberals, and Democrats for that matter, believe in big government, high taxes, and they have never met a new spending program they didn't like, whether we will have to go into debt to pay for it or not.

4) Conservatives believe that government, by its very nature, tends to be inefficient, incompetent, wasteful, and power hungry. That's why we believe that the government that governs least, governs best. Liberals think that the solution to every problem is another government program. Even when those new programs create new problems, often worse than the ones that were being fixed in the first place, the solution is always....you guessed it, another government program.

3) Conservatives are patriotic, believe that America is a great nation, and are primarily interested in looking out for the good of the country. That's why we believe in "American exceptionalism" and "America first." Liberals are internationalists who are more concerned about what Europeans think of us and staying in the good graces of the corrupt bureaucrats who control the UN than looking out for the best interests of this nation.

2) Conservatives, most of them anyway, believe in God and think that the Constitution has been twisted by liberal judges to illegitimately try to purge Christianity from the public square. We also believe, most of us anyway, that this country has been successful in large part because it is a good, Christian nation and if our country ever turns away from the Lord, it will cease to prosper. Liberals, most of them anyway, are hostile to Christianity. That's why, whether you're talking about a school play at Christmas time, a judge putting the Ten Commandments on the wall of his court, or a store employee saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays," liberals are dedicated to driving reminders of Christianity from polite society.

1) Conservatives believe in pursuing policies because they're pragmatic and because they work. Liberals believe in pursuing policies because they're "nice" and make them feel good. Whether the policies they're advocating actually work or not is of secondary importance to them.

Seven Tenets of Liberalism

1) Self Loathing Liberals hate the West. The West is always WRONG (unless it's white Europeans aligning themselves against the United States). Liberals hate America. Liberals hate our Founding. Liberals hate the traditional family. Liberals hate the military, the police, and anything else traditional, good, or fair. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in hate.

2) Defeatism Liberals are weak on terrorism, weak on crime, weak on securing our border, and just plain weak. Liberal parents hold "safe drinking" and "safe sex" parties for their teenager children using the excuse that "they're just going to do it anyway." Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in low self-esteem, weakness, and laziness.

3) Multi-Culturalism Liberals believe that it is wrong to expect a newcomer to America or any Western nation to actually speak English, obey our laws, shower, eat with utensils, etc. Liberals argue that all cultures are equal and we should not consider our (obviously superior) culture to be above those of anyone else under any circumstances. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in the white guilt of rich white liberals and the virulent racism of some minorities.

4) Blaming the Victim Liberals believe that we are creating more terrorists by fighting terrorism. They believe that it is the West's responsibility to provide jobs for young disaffected Muslim "youth", who don't want to assimilate in the first place. They say that the West is "Islamophobic" and has to bend over and grease up for them or we're to blame for terrorism. This is simply not true: just look at older Muslims in Europe, who do not support terrorism or Shari'a law. Surely the older Muslims in Europe have been "oppressed" longer than the Muslims in their 20's who were born there and are embracing terrorism. But the liberals believe we're the ones who need to change. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in selective outrage.

So Chapel, are you saying you agree that same-sex marriage should be allowed? If not, why not? Are you saying you agree all Americans should be entitled to healthcare regardless of financial ability to pay? Are you saying you agree that the high rate of unemployment among minorities is firstly and foremostly due to the economy?

LOL. I have named specific truths. You have entered a blanket denial but don't point to anything specific demonstrating that I am wrong. I stand by my list as accurate. The best you can do is call me a hack, when I have done the opposite of being a hack. I have presented a specific bill of particulars. You are the hack, as represented by you inability to engage the issues raised other than by covering your ears and blathering.

5) Baby Killing Liberals believe in a woman's right to "choose," which is a euphemism for murdering one's own baby. They say it's a woman's body, ignoring the obvious fact that the baby is a separate entity living inside the mother. Liberals want young women to reject parental roles and kill their babies out of sheer convenience. Roe V. Wade was the law of the land which made it "constitutional", and they dare don't leave it up to a democratic vote in the states. They don't want to even discuss adoption, because they'd still have stretchmarks. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in vanity.

6) Collectivism Liberals believe in collectivism that the group should carry its weakest members even the voluntary poor. They believe in bringing everybody else down to the level of the lowest, ignorant, and laziest members of society rather than trying to elevate the losers by a good reality bitch-slap. They believe in creating class envy, high taxes, income redistribution, the collapse of the free market, Communism, socialism, and the nanny state. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in misplaced compassion.

7) Moral Relativism Liberals believe that Bush and Cheney were the "real" terrorists, that the Islamoterrorists are "freedom fighters," and that Gitmo (where terrorists get three squares a day and the best medical care they've received in their miserable lives) is the equivalent of Auschwitz. They would much rather condemn America (where they are free to do so) than actually go to Iran or North Korea and criticize THEM, because they know they'd never get away with it. Is this grounded in reason? No, it is grounded in fear.

philoofalexandria.wordpress.co

This appears to be an accurate summary of the positions of those on the far left. Most liberals I know, however, see themselves as holding a nuanced, balanced, intermediate positions between these and what they see as typical conservative beliefs:

Self-aggrandizement: The U.S. is always right.
Self-righteousness: I'm right, and anyone who disagrees with me should be punished.
Triumphalism: Our culture is better than anybody else's in every respect.
Islamophobia: Our reaction to the challenge posed by Islam should be to destroy it.
Intolerance: Everyone, including women, should be forced to act in accord with my values.
Egoism: I have an obligation to take care of myself and no one else.
Absolutism: I'm certain of my values, which are right for all people at all times.
This is of course a caricature; this doesn't characterize my beliefs or the beliefs of any conservative I know. But liberals are convinced that conservatives are simple-minded and that only liberals are capable of comprehending the complexity of reality.

Probably a better way of understanding the difference between liberals and conservatives is in terms of defaults. Think in terms of some questions, and the answer libera;s and conservatives tend toward in the absence of conflicting information or argument.

Probably a better way of understanding the difference between liberals and conservatives is in terms of defaults. Think in terms of some questions, and the answer liberals and conservatives tend toward in the absence of conflicting information or argument.

International Conflict: Western countries and non-Western countries sometimes come into conflict. In general, and recognizing that there are some, even many exceptions, who's likely to be right? Conservatives: the West. Liberals: nonWestern countries.
Transgressions of existing law: How, in general, and again admitting that there are exceptions, should we respond to terrorism, crime, illegal immigration, and other infractions? Conservatives: enforce the law and punish offenders, acting preemptively if necessary. Liberals: Understand the root causes of these infractions and address them by giving economic aid to those in need.
Cultural Interactions: When people of other cultures come to the United States, should they, in general, accommodate us and assimilate to our culture, or should our culture change to accommodate them? Conservatives: They should act according to the norms of our culture, which will over time expand to include the best of their cultures. Liberals: We should accommodate them.
Conflict with Islam: The United States is now in conflict with many Islamic nations and with Islamic terrorists. What, in general, should we do? Conservatives: This is a new phase of a war that has been going on since the 8th century. We have no choice to fight Islamic expansionism in order to defend Western civilization and Western values. Liberals: We must understand the root causes of this conflict, which lie in colonialism and our own foreign policy mistakes, apologize, and correct our misunderstandings of Islam.

Abortion: Should abortion, in most instances, be banned, or at any rate strongly discouraged? Conservatives: Yes; it is the taking of human life. Liberals: No; it is an expression of freedom.
Obligations to Others: Some people have much more than others. Should we, in general, "spread the wealth around" by taking from those who have more and giving to those who have less? Conservatives: Not as a legal matter; we are all better off if people take responsibility for themselves. We should reward productivity and accomplishment and penalize laziness and irresponsibility. As individuals, it is good for people to help those in need. But government "help" turns out to hurt more than it helps. Liberals: Yes; people are entitled to what they need to live. It's a matter of social justice.
Morality: Are some things, objectively, right, and others wrong? Or is morality in the eye of the beholder? Conservatives: Our moral opinions are fallible, but right and wrong are objective and knowable. Some things are better than others, and our common sense views about this are generally right. Liberals: Nothing is objectively right or wrong, and common sense is little more than prejudice.

Framed in this way, it's not a matter of one side being simplistic while the other sees complexity and nuance. It's that basic assumptions differ in a way that leads to different default positions. I'm on the conservative side of each of the above, with, I hope, nuanced positions backed by serious arguments. But I know liberals who also hold nuanced positions backed by serious arguments.

That leads me, however, to ask what must strike my readers as obvious questions. Conservatives in politics and in the media and on the web are generally nuanced and back their positions with serious arguments. Liberals in politics and in the media seem to settle for emotional appeals and namecalling. The liberals I know aren't like that, but the public voices of liberalism are. Why the difference? Why does simplistic namecalling work on the left, managing to attract the votes of moderates as well as those of true believers?

There you go Mod.

Get back to us when you digest it all.

Capisce?

You still have not addressed the issues I raised. Instead you have cut and paste from some unnamed rightwing website. Pretty pathetic actually...

10 Accurate Broadbrush reasons....

Of course both sides know this is complete rubbish, so I won't waste too much time on this.

#1. Both left and right have well publicized legitimate reasons to defeat the plan

#2. No, there are many moral leftist too

#3. No, they blame high unemployment on the fraud of the Federal Reserve

#4. AGW. No, both sides have globalist scum bags that are pushing this one. But why bother? Moder8 didn't bother commenting on thread that rightly outs both sides. www.drudge.com

#5. No, there are many Bible believers on the left

#6. obvious pure BS

#7. No, free market economics is obviously more common-sensical that big govt entitlement programs

#8. compelled to modify personal behavior for the benefit of the country.?? Sounds like a defensive admission of guilt by the left.

#9. Way too broad to call this the right. Thread here included many leaning leftists. www.drudge.com

#10. here we go with the racism card -- not worthy of a response.

So much for Accurate Broadbrush reasoning!

Wow was this a beautiful troll! IT has no merit or value on its own, but damn if it isn't a textbook example of how to create a troll thread. Look at all the bites so far. Nice job

#1 moder8
they don't have the first fucking clue about what most of those policies entail as opposed to GWB policies.

I'll give you that one, though it's obviously too broad a brush. But even so, does that make either one's globalist anti-constitutional policies acceptable?

Moder8 owes me a thousand dollars. He made a bet, I accepted, and he later claimed not to have made it, despite posts to the contrary.

So how about starting a thread as to why certain Left-wingers are detestable?

1. No integrity
2. Don't believe their stupid actions should have consequences

Thanks Kanrei. A lazy Sunday morning put to good use.

Haha! I'll bite!

Where did you get this stuff? The Rosie O'Donnell website? How about a link.

If you believe people aren't able to articulate what's obvious without someone else doing the analysis, you are a right-winger. That's the psychological failing (or strength) of authoritarianism.

Whether the right likes it or not, Moder8's done a good job of illustrating the perception. Don't like it? Fix it. So far all anyone on the right's done is reinforce his points. The GOP "health care plan" being a great example. Turns out it's a manual of how to obstruct and delay (Judd Gregg's memo).

www.washingtonmonthly.com

From my perspective the main difference between the Right and the Left is selfishness. The Right is selfish to a shallower and less thought out level, terminating with one's little castle.

The Left is selfish to a deeper level understanding that when more people do well, everyone has a better environment (very broad sense) and everyone wins.

More simply put, philosophically, Republicans are "When I win, I win" and Democrats are "When we all win, I too, win."

Glittering generalizations front and center, of course. :)

#43 yav
So far all anyone on the right's done is reinforce his points. The GOP "health care plan" being a great example.

I beg your pardon?

I beg your pardon?

Re: GOP health care plan? It's as obvious as can be. Think about maintaining the current scenario (which continues to decline) and look at who's impacted, how that impact plays out (days lost in school, illness, high costs from unmanaged disease, the spreading of more virulent disease), loss of productivity, and people bankrupted by health care costs. Homes lost, jobs lost, etc.

The "Republican" view is "Hey, it's going to cost me!" without regard to the costs that are just as real, but are a bit beneath the surface. The Democratic view is "Hey, there are real costs to EVERYONE, and if we can benefit everyone, everyone will gain, even those that don't have the apparent superficial need."

I linked the GOP "plan" or strategy - which is to defeat all reform. They had complete control for years, and did nothing about Medicare (despite an unprecedented warning by the Medicare Board of Trustees issuing 3 legal warnings). They got dragged kicking and screaming to SCHIP, they lied about the costs of Medicare Part D, and then didn't bother funding it.

That's what I thought of when I read #1 on Moder8's list.

How did you not get the connection?

10 Accurate Broadbrush Reasons leftist Are Detestable

1. They believe that curing any human problem is just a matter of spending more money. Not theirs, of course.

2. They feel that what ever they want to do is suddenly a right. Consequences be damned.

3. They blame the high rate of minorities being unemployed on racism and other ills, instead of the bad schools they run, the bad city gov't they run, and the effects of generations of welfare mentality.

4. They deny the possibility of GOD but will gladly bow down and worship at the alter of global warming. Not because of the science [which we have now proven was often faked], but because it makes them feel more powerful to be able to destroy the planet.

5. They believe any "values" that come from religion (such as the bible) is suspect, but everything uttered by Al Gore or Michael Moore is accepted as scripture. No thought allowed. No discussion.

6. Their preferred methods of argument are slander, insult, outright lies and grandstanding. Just read ANY post about Palin, Bush, or Rush. Oh, and most of there slander revolves around sex... tea bagging, etc.

7. Their own personal financial well being is their first foremost consideration when weighing ANY policy issues. How much can I get from the gov't today? What will give me more? Which politician will pay the most for my vote? Any tax increase is greeted as MANA from heaven, as most of them pay no taxes.

8. They feel it is outrageous for them to ever be compelled to modify personal behavior for the benefit of the country. They want to have sex on tv, or on the lawn, or with 6 people at once in the middle of the road... it is their GOD DAMN RIGHT... and no one should be allowed to tell them differently.

9. They tend to believe that we, the US, is ALWAYS wrong in almost everything, and if we could just mimic France or Russia or China or Burma, we would be so much better.

10 Rather than acknowledge the deficiencies of their own ideas, they immediately revert to attacking people as racist, bigoted, homophobic, etc.

Perhaps because you've chosen one "right" perspective but broadbrushed your slam on all right perspectives, when a few of them correctly exposes that many of these 10 broadbrush statements are shared and/or are correctly attributable to both parties.

Moder8, you have really turned into a whiner.

How is it possible that everyone that doesn't agree with you can be generalized about, but anyone that agrees with you can not be generalized about under any circumstances?

For example, 'all jews are this or that' is very very wrong and bad, while 'all right-leaning people is this or that' is okay? I suppose your head would explode if you happened upon a right-leaning jew.

They hate President Obama mainly because he is a black man.

The old race bait card. How fucking passe. Pretty much negates the other ten on your stupid list, IMO, since you just proved yourself an idiot for playing that same tired boring, long disproven fallacy.

News flash, chief -- I dislike his white half too. Does that mean I hate white people, too? Grow up.

So sad that so many people in this nation are completely incapable of independent thought!

Left, right, center, conservative, liberal...the fact that you are arguing these ridiculous things means you are just too fucking stupid to understand the big picture.

You are all angry and frustrated with everything but don't seem to understand that is exactly what our government wants.

The politicians are laughing at you all the way to the bank! They know you are so easy to manipulate they can distract, confuse, misdirect, and deceive you with little effort. Too lazy to investigate, too dependant on tv to search for yourselves, too complacent to fight the real enemy, too comfortable to get off your lazy asses and fix anything!

This is what we have become, no end in sight, no hope because we are so impudent, modern slaves to endless debt, content to work the rest of our lives for nothing. Investments raped, real estate worth less than we owe, health care perverted into a profit, fossil fuels we don't need causing war and death while polluting the planet.

What exactly will it take to make you change?

" It's the shared hatred of the rest of us that unites Islamists and the Left.

.......pot.....meet kettle.......

I guess, since I've been called a right winger by the left on this site, I am allowed a retort. Point by point, of course.

1. No, I don't. Just tell me how you're going to pay for it. Stop lying to me and telling me you're actually going to save money. History demonstrates that Government doesn't know how to save money.

2. Nope. Let the queers get hitched. None of my business what they do. If the religious want marriage to be a sacred institution, first they should start treating it as such and second, remove the state from the equation.

3. I've known lots of people in my short time on this rock. Some do have a sense of entitlement and zero work ethics. Others just catch a bad break or are the victims of their own environment. It should be our responsibility as fellow citizens to give them a helping hand when they need it, but if they're capable of work, that helping hand has limits.

4. I don't deny global warming...wait, you called it climate change the other day...make up your mind. I doubt the sincerity of those who use fear as a means to convince the rest of us that we're killing the planet since none of them have really offered up a viable solution that wouldn't piss off one of the other groups of tree hugging hippies.

5. I'm an atheist leaning agnostic.

6. The same can be said of the left.

7. I'm more concerned about what is being done with the money than how much they're taking.

8. Isn't this the same as Gee Dubya telling people they're either with us or they're with the terrorists or the people who said the Dixie Chicks should just shut up and sing or the people who said that it's okay to protest, but there's a proper time and place for it?

9. Not so much isolationist as I am non-interventionist. I'd rather we dealt with every foreign, sovereign country with an even hand. Instead, we've got heros of the left and the right making foreign policy decisions that lead to events like 9/11.

10. Everyone is a little bit bigoted. That knowledge has allowed me to address my own bigotry and the racism that was ingrained in me by family and friends and work to improve myself and my relationship with people of different backgrounds. Ridicule and scorn won't change the people who refuse to accept that we're all the same. The best thing to do is to ignore those people. Paying more than fleeting attention to them gives them power to push their platform of ignorance.

I await patiently to be called both a right wing kook and a left wing terrorist sympathizing america-hater all in the same thread.

I challenge you to post a list of 10 important areas where leftwingers as a whole are as detestable.

Lefties are not, generally speaking detestable.

They are foolish, misguided, confused, defensive, accusatory and generally lacking in common sense.

But most are not detestable.

And here it is, nine in the evening Pacific time, and not a single one of you rightwing idiots have effectively refuted the points made at the top of the thread. LOL

???

First, you have to prove them, counselor. And here it is, 5:00 AM EST you have not even lifted a finger nor provided an iota of evidence to prove a single one of them your eleven broad-brush allegations. BTW, only the dimmest of bulbs make broad-brush assertions, 5 watt.

As a lawyer, you are not familiar with burden of proof? It is not up to us to refute your idiotic ramblings -- it is up to you to prove them. You are one fucking pathetic lawyer if you are not familiar with that simple premise. I pity your clients that the state of California thrusts you upon. You really suck as a lawyer.

Outside a legal context, "burden of proof" means that someone suggesting a new theory or stating a claim must provide evidence to support it: it is not sufficient to say "you can't disprove this." Specifically, when anyone is making a bold claim, and especially a positive claim, it is not someone else's responsibility to disprove the claim, but is rather the responsibility of the person who is making the bold claim to prove it. In short, X is not proven simply because "not X" cannot be proven

So m'8, we await proof of even ONE of you silly allegations. Then we will more than gladly refute it. Since there is no chance of you proving a single one of them (impossible logistics alone of polling all 54 million republicans aside, only a true idiot buys the broad brush ravings of a lunatic) we will write off this thread to another divisive, hate filled rant of which you are so famous for.

Isn't it even slightly embarassing for you to continually shine the spotlight of hate, ignorance, and divisiveness on yourself?

I guess not.

They are facts as reflected by rightwing posters such as yourself day in and day out here on the DR.

???

Let me get this straight. You tell us 'facts' about 54 million people base on a few dozen posters on a blog? (we'll ignore the obvious fact that they don't even apply to 100% of those few dozen on this blog you cite)

OK. Come clean. You aren't really a lawyer are you? No way a functioning lawyer could have a > 1% success rate with the kind of logic you put forth. No way. A judge would laugh you out of any courtroom in the state with that kind of logic. I can see it now: "You honor, my client, like all people sharing his demographic profile, is innocent of malfeasance because there are a few dozen proven honest ones. The defense rests."

LOL

You have entered a blanket denial...

Posted by moder8

So m8 knowing he cannot win his argument, decides that he gets to play by different rules. He is allowed to make blanket statements without proof, but no one is allowed to make a blanket denial.

How pathetic. Winners win the game by playing by the same rules. Losers expect different standards for themselves. Which group are you in, m8?

BTW speaking of honesty: when are you going to change you handle to an honest one?

.... but don't point to anything specific demonstrating that I am wrong.

You have the burden of proof, counselor, not us.
=======
Oh well, I just popped in this AM before I left for my trip to sunny Mexico. I see the same perpetual malcontents and misfits like m8 are spiteful as ever. I've had enough. There is too much happiness in the world to allow idiots like him to try to bring me down to his gutteral level of hate. I'm going to finish my coffee and trip preparations, and I'll let you get back to your hatemongering, m8. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you anyway, m8 and to the rest of the DR as well.

Later, folks.

4 posts in a hyperactive row to a poster that's not even here.

Was bob AFK?

Sorry mine is the first time you've ever seen posts to someone who "isn't here" and that it distresses you. However, it is his thread, though. I didn't realize we had to wait until the owner of the thread was present until we could post on it? Is that the case, or was it simply the best excuse you could come up with to satisfy your obsessive desire to post something about me?

Was Tadowe AFK? Am I your new Tadowe? That indeed seems to be the case.

LOL

Alex says he'll never, ever, speak to me again, but obviously I'm still good enough to talk about. Obsessions with me are hard to shake, aren't they Alex? LOL

Merry Christmas to you, Alex. I've a plane to catch in an hour. Adios

Numbers 8 and 10 refer to Democrats as much as Republicans.

Number 9 isn't even a bad thing.

2. They oppose consensual same-sex marriage between two adults in love.

So does your president. Guess he's a Rightwinger.

No, just another political tightrope walker who refuses to say what they mean. "Civil Union" is a marriage without religion: the only marriage a government can recognize. He is playing the Rhetoric game to appease the "Single Serving News Crowd" who prefer headlines over context.

This doesn't sound like hedging to me:

"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

10 Rather than acknowledge their own racism and hatred, they prefer to accuse everyone else of being racist and hate filled.

hmmm...

i always thought that racism and hatred was broadbrushing a group, ascribing terrible attributes to them, and treating them all as though they were inferior based on stereotypes.

you seem to be a pro at doing this Moder8. let your hate flow through... you're almost to the dark side.

top ten reasons liberals suck

just keep reading.

BA DUMP DUMP

and just scanning the top ten....I came up with 7 that are completely bullshit and little more than liberal gibberish.

would work on top ten reasons why liberals are a DANGER to america but wont be able to stop at just ten.,

HERE IS A Perfect example of difference

anyone hear the 911 call in oklahoma where the woman said that a man was trying to break in and she warned the lady that she was going to shoot him..warned him as well..
she shot and killed him and he had a long record of drugs and assaults..etc

in a liberal only world it would have been the woman who was raped, robed and killed..

good for you lady
the 2nd amendment does work

Y'know, without everyone bitching over the small issues, the list makes sense.

Mayor Douchebag from Arlington, TN, who whined about President Obama's speech at West Point pre-empting the Charlie Brown Christmas Special last week fits neatly into #6, #10, and #11.

Of course the list is accurate. That is why rightwingers (and leftwing apologists) are offended by it.

>Of course the list is accurate...

Ummmm....I couldn't make it past the lies in #1 so I had to bail. Can only imagine the rest of the bullshit in #2 through #10.

Hey HappyEnding, let me put it to you this way: If 40+ million Americans who are currently uninsured would have access to decent healthcare at a cost to you of absolutely no more than $250 a year, would you support such a bill?

40+ million? About 20% of those folks aren't citizens of the US. Do you actually want my money to pay for illegal aliens?

40+ million? About 20% of those folks make over 75K per year. Do you actually want my money to pay for middle class folks who choose to forgo insurance?

40+ million? About 30% of those folks are eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP and would find out they were eligible if they ended up in the ER. Do you actually want my money to pay for folks too lazy to realize they're already covered?

Let me put it to you this way: is there anything about other people's money you don't love?

So you wouldn't be willing to pay an $250 a month? I thought not. You are detestable. Thank you for confirming the thesis of this thread.
And of course I would be willing to pay, and without a moment's hesitation.

And of course I would be willing to pay, and without a moment's hesitation.

sure.

It amazes me the self serving mentality of rightwingers. C'mon Eberly, C'mon HappyE, are you really such selfish assholes that $250 a year to provide adequate healthcare for the 40+ million Americans who need it is too much? Fuck. I'm glad I don't know any of you guys personally. Because if that is really how you think, you are assholes.

Anyone else find it ironic that #5, #6, and #10 are actually self-retorting retorts? Welcome to the right, Moder8!

"to illegitimately try to purge Christianity from the public square."

Christianity has no more business in the public square than does Buddhism or Islam.

And of course I would be willing to pay, and without a moment's hesitation.

"Hey, what's another 250 dollars from my welfare check anyway?"

>such selfish assholes that $250 a year to provide adequate healthcare for the 40+ million Americans who need it is too much

It amazes me that you begin your negotiations with a unequivocal lie and then act incredulous. Actually, you don't even care about the truth. Truth is what you make it. Good luck with that...

Enjoy!

AND HERE is another reason dems are fuckwads

see what harry asswipe reid said yesterday about people opposed to statists takeover of health care?

you are all just slave owners........

gee I didnt know that.......and all this time I was picking my own cotton...

Moder8 here is a clue!

If the left could pay for there own stuff, it wouldn't matter what the right thought.

We all know that is not the case, the left uses the Military, FBI, and the IRS to force the right to pay for their stuff, thus making what the right thinks relevant

The main reason the liberals are detestable - They are control freaks!

Hey HappyEnding, let me put it to you this way: If 40+ million Americans who are currently uninsured would have access to decent healthcare at a cost to you of absolutely no more than $250 a year, would you support such a bill?

come back and keep your bogus leftist thread going while pumping the neo-con mentality elsewhere.

The mimus is known for their habit of mimicking the songs of insect and amphibian sounds as well as other song birds, often loudly in rapid succession.
Maybe you have seen one fluttering white-banded wings to get your attention. Perhaps you have heard one singing a symphony of up to 40 different imitated calls, delivered in beautiful, rapid succession. Or maybe one has unexpectedly whacked you in the back of the head for accidentally venturing too close to its nest.

LRCON: I'd respond if you guys were saying anything worth responding to. But you're not. On the other hand I have enjoyed watching you puppets dance on my strings throughout the course of this thread. Please continue. I find it amusing.

#100
You refuse to reply? You're called out as a hypocrite spewing lefty crap then neo-con crap simultaneously to provocateur the DR and you have no comment. You're a fraud. No comment is an admission.

LOL. Since when does LRCON get to make the rules? You're a tool and a puppet. Now please, continue dancing.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood.

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.
